Geeze you play in a game with tons of fun shenanigans and legends like DGAF and Irieguy, hit and run, give Nik a massage for $100 -- and it gets a 10 second mention.

The hit and run was a mistake i cleared up with DGAF. I was under the impression it was a $2/$3 with $300 buyin; min was $600 with lots of regs at the table. I was outmatched and did not feel comfortable risking 300bb at the table.

Where'd this get mentioned? That's funny lol. Nik was a fun guy.

I don’t think it’s necessarily bad if you end up hitting and running in a scenario as Pman mentioned.

It's a cash game. You can leave whenever you want. No need to justify to some live pro asshat.

Yeah, insomnia sucks, I can empathize with you.

Personal question: Are you a functional insomniac. In other words when suffer a bout, do you have to take the next day off?

Ambien helps, especially when the insomnia is occasional. Maybe you can ask your doctor about it.

If you can't sleep because you can't stop thinking about things or worried, etc. then meditation helps for sure. It allows you to shut down your brain for a few minutes. There are free apps for it.

I've tried ambien and trazadone in the past; unfortunately i'm allergic to one and the other didn't work at all.

As for being a functional insomniac, I would have to say sometimes? Like, Saturday night I got no sleep. So sunday flipped my sleep schedule. So monday i didn't feel well and slept all day...and yesterday i was up at random times again. It's usually 1 bad day of sleep leads to 3-5 days of bad sleep. Luckily it only happens like once a month or so. So I'd have to say when it comes i am def. not functional. I cancel everything and just sleep / take it easy. I'm looking into other medicine for it right now. I am feeling slightly better; it just sucks being drained of energy.

I meditate every day great suggestion. ~75% of the time it helps and makes me tired, when it doesn't I usually listen to some Jesus music or an audiobook. There's just some sleepless nights that, no matter what I do, I can't sleep. I think tha'ts just part of my touretets / anxiety / add. It is what it is, and I've definitely talked with my doctor about it. Hoping it gets better. So far as i've gotten older it's gotten much better. It used to last for weeks instead of days.

The cause of insomnia takes many forms. Mine is chronic and has absolutely nothing to do with busy thoughts/anxiety.

That's good that it only happens, once a month, It sounds like your handling the best/right way. (Not medical advise, I'm not a doctor)

brb writing this medical advice down.

Lol. Yeah, I appreciate it. I try to do my best. I know it comes off as lazy when I don't play / sleep for 3-5 days in a row, but honestly my body needs it. Sucks, but could be a million times worse.

I'm finally starting to feel better, should be getting a good nights' sleep tonight and then back on the grind tomorrow. Thanks guys.

Do something physical, should help with the sleep.

I suggest something like this.

hey man i'm with da nit on this

make a habit of setting an alarm and no matter what when that alarm goes off you get up and shower, then make yourself a light breakfast and hit up the gym

then stay active

insomnia can be due to a myriad of reasons, but with you i imagine the main driver is lack of activity - when i took time off real life work to just grind online 24/7 i rarely got outside, was barely active, either playing online or watching something/playing video games like you and also suffered from massive insomnia because i was never doing anything active so my body never reached critical mass of physical tiredness to just lay down and close my eyes and fall asleep

i'd have what you have, that emotionally exhausting state that comes when you don't get proper sleep but still not physically tired enough to actually sleep

set alarms and instead of sleeping in, i don't care how tired you are, even if you didn't sleep, when that alarm goes off eat a light breakfast and go to the gym

Everyone is different. Physical activity has absolutely nothing to do with my insomnia.

Pman, non-medical professionals often tell you to blame yourself. Your insomnia is not necessarily because you are doing something wrong.

I had a hand similar to that AK hand this week. Board was 3353cc and I shipped with KQss and got called by KTdd. We chopped though.

Wow, yeah getting called like that is always scary.

I was legitimately shocked that I had the winner. She plays the opposite of the old lady stereotype. She's aggressive, loose, and gets it in bad. I thought I punted (and in hindsight the AK jam is questionable, I'll have to look into it more) but when she called with AQ hi i was like...u wut? First time in a while since my bluff got called by worse

I once played a similar board but I actually had the boat, on river I check over jammed like 3x pot and dude goes into the tank, flips over K high, tanks some more and then calls, later accused me of angling him like cause I was visibly disappointed to see his king and he mistook my sadness that he wouldn't pay me off as sadness that his k was good and I was going to get stacked

People do weird things on paired boards

Wouldn't be an angle either way.

Oh for sure, just pointing out that people rarely believe the other guy has it when board double pairs - I think it was more punt regret and tried to save face but I 100% thought he was folding as k high and never saw the call coming
