And Don't ever feel the slightest bit bad or sad about only getting 2nd place.

It's like you placed SILVER in the POKER OLYMPICS!

Oh i'm not sad. I'm beyond thrilled. I played some of the best poker of my life. Yes, I got more than my fair share of AA KK, and sure some of my opponents punted, but i also suffered some bad beats and fought through. I am PROUD.

Thank you McLovin

I folded JJ. I thought about it. Someone was all in for like 2bb, and the other guy had slightly more chips than me. I also had the big stack to act behind me. I think it would have been ICM suicide. I haven't run the numbers yet. Hindsight, I'm obviously thrilled about the fold as they had KK QQ and Q9 (KK for the KOs). I'm not sure I'm supposed to get it in there.

Thank you for lurking and commenting; I appreciate it a lot. Now I'm ready to prove a point; I'm a poker player, not a degen.

Free Advice: Play the Main Event
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Sell 50-60%, I think you can find buyers.
Be frugal till then, back out of any other event you can, and play this Main Event.
Don't waste your money trying to satellite in.

Great work! Try your best to remember these feelings that you're feeling because much like cigarettes, nothing really compares to the first big live score.

If we're handing out Free Tips From Internet Strangers:

1. Set aside 15k for taxes. Contact some accountants that are knowledgeable about poker taxes (there are several good ones in Vegas) and they can get you started with some quarterly forms so you can just ship off some cash and not worry about it again.

2. Don't give anyone any money. Not for a loan, not for a stake, not for a business, not for crypto, not for "oh man my wire got hung up and I need to reg for this timby I'll pay you back on break" not for "my money is up in the room and I can't leave the table because of reasons!" Don't let anyone whose name isn't You or A Teller At The Bank You Bank At get their hands on your money. Because you will NEVER get it back.

3. Don't change your plan! Trust yourself that you made an intelligent schedule and prove to yourself that you have the discipline to see it through. 47k is a ton of money, but it's not all the money in the world, and it's certainly not enough money to outrun bad decisions. Your like 10 "Oh I'll play this 1.5k bracelet event, it's so soft!" "Oh I'll play this 1k online event and don't want to bother selling to it" "Oh I'll play this super sat to the main" bricks away from the danger zone when you can just pocket the money, stick to your plan, hopefully run deep again, and start building. There will be this exact number of bracelet events in 2024, this exact number of side events in 2024, this exact number of Wynn/Venitian/Nugget events in 2024. Why not bank your cash, still play all the events you were planning on, and then using all this money as a bankroll going forward so that maybe in less than a year, you can be sitting on a plan to play in 30-40k worth of events and even if you have a shitty run of it, still have a healthy bankroll/liferoll?

I've never had a cig! I already spoke to a tax guy. I wont be loaning / staking / buying random NFTs with people. I'm a money nit. And thank you, I will not be changing my plan. I also only had 45% of myself, so at the end of the day its 21k profit not 47k. Not going to blow it.

Let's not derail this into a markup thread. If you dont agree with the price, dont invest. I'm going off of my friends and coaches judgement and what makes sense to me. Thanks guys.
