The only interesting hand from today. Villain was an unknown nitty player. OTF I bet but I expect to get called a lot so I decided to DB on almost any turn. Turn is an easy DB (villain tank/called). What about the river? I think he as a lot of better PP. I first wanted to bet 60% PSB but I decided to make it bigger to increase my FE. Again villain tanked for ages...

I think I'd check flop, but 3barreling is the second best option in my opinion. When playing 10nl I operate under the assumption that people do not have any intention of folding pairs to me. This, on top of the fact that villain likely has a pair bigger than yours (he cold called in the sb. this usually means a fairly strong hand) leads me to just checking and possibly protect betting if checked to on the turn to fold out hands with 6 outs.

If you have a read that villain will actually fold pairs, then barrel away here is going to be better than checking

^^^ Thx for your comment!

I had only had a few hands on him, no reads. I would have checked back OTF if I had not had a GS... It was quite close...

I keep loosing that does not help if you can only play a few hands a week. Of course my self confidence is very low too...

Hand #1:
Villain was marked as a laggy player (probably from NL16) but no stats yet on the HUD. I think such players' 4bet calling range consists of JJ/QQ/AK. I think my c-bet was too big.

h1: A8o isnt a great isolate, i think it's fine but not great. 4bet is ok, we block Ax hands although i think i prefer folding.

i wouldnt cbet unless you plan on shoving turn bcos otherwise it serves no purpose, he dosen't call with worse and when he checks its either to x/r or because he has a hand he cant bet but can call/fold. cbet is definitely too big as well.

hand 2: looks fine.

hand 3: definitely calling river. fine otherwise.

hand 4: im not sure whether i like your turn barrel, that said once he doesnt raise the turn, betting river is fine.

obviously wouldnt get into bluffing too much at 10nl tho.

Villain called my 4bet pre so why should he have donked OTF? I had some BD equity and villain might have folded AK. This turn card was bad for me that's why I did not shove.

What do you think villain's donking range is OTR?
A8o: misread the hand in the 4bet one. if you cbet you need to shove turn or smthing, cbetting to give up is just burning money.

villains donk range on river: not sure, but its unlikely he has Jx, he leads small and it just generally looks bluffy. i think we're good often enough to call

Well, IDK really.

A8o: What does villain fold OTT in a 4bet pot that calls OTF? This was a terrible card to continue on.

A5s: I think villain has Jx here like always. I'm repping Ax and (at least in villain's eyes) I will never fold TP to such a small bet.

With this spot, I think you're asking yourself the wrong question. What hands do you think villain folds on the flop here? I'm really struggling to think of a hand that villain flats a 4bet with that will just give up flop here. IMO, villain will check/shove a ton in this spot, leaving you having to fold having invested half your stack.

Even though you have a BDFD and bottom pair, I'm definitely checking back this texture. And if we are to bet, it has to be way smaller, so that we can go for three streets.

I'm not sure if c-betting is wrong but I agree with you on the sizing issue. On the other hand if I bet turn I shove (with my whole range).

I haven't played a hand since a month as I have started solving sodoku games... It seems my "poker career" is getting to its end as I'm absolutely not motivated to play a hand.
