Hello there, Starting this Goals & Challenges thread to motivate me to play as many hands as possible, like most people, as well as i think it will be something enjoyable to keep updated. I always love reading other peoples goals and achievements and thought it would be nice to look back and see how far i have come in the future if i manage to work my way up from being a noobfish.

About me:

Nothing too interesting to share, back in November i was playing SNG's / devoting a lot of time to learning and playing low stakes sng's & tourneys until some ****ty luck came around (hit by a car / lost job /lost gf etc). Now that i am in a situation to play again, I decided that i wanted to play Cash and focus on improving my 6 max game specifically with my new-found free time.

The Goal:

I have been playing for a little while since i came back to learn cash with a small bankroll, and decided that for this thread i will start with only $15.00 as well as a cash bonus that is about 5% away from being completed.

The aggressive but strict bankroll management i plan to use is:

$15->$59 2Nl
$60->$200 5Nl (Drop down if i hit $40)
$200+ 10Nl (Drop down if i hit $150)

This can change depending on how it goes / how quickly i develop in playing cash. I am pretty confident i will not be busting my roll if i stick to my BRM and don't run very very poorly at 2nl, but anything is possible! No real goal set as to how far i want to make it , just play and improve and see how it goes.

I will mainly 1-2 table zoom as i can get a lot of volume in and at this level i don't feel i need to table select very much. When i feel like it though i will play some regular tables / perhaps add a couple of regular tables on top of zoom eventually.

I am going to date my overall graph to track everything past this date and plan to post a graph / update after every significant session as well as some trouble spot hands that perhaps people will want to check out

All suggestions are welcome in making improvements to my thread, it is 7 am at the moment so i am sure when i read this later i will make fixes to it so it looks better.

Starting Bankroll :

Thanks for checking out my thread & Good luck w/ Run Good

What you really came for..

My apologies if any are stolen, just grabbed a few from a folder

Hey, wher did you get that picture of my sister..

anyhow mate i wish you luck as 6max is my game. But zoom has a much different dynamic-maybe try 4tabling. Easier to see who the abc reg nits are and take the correct lines per opponent when you actually play with them. You might move up in stakes faster this way as well as lay a better foundation for your game.

Thanks for suggestion , so far the volume in zoom ( i have played 12k hands before this thread and before the $15 start plan / i then transfered all but $3 into peoples wallets donking it off with no brm then turned $3 into $15) has been nice and i like the dynamic, but ye if zoom doesn't go well i will switch to reg tabling i just feel at this level i will find a great deal of fish at zoom and reg tables but more hands @ zoom.

Will see how it goes for my first session

Poor first day for 6max , still lots to learn but also feel i found a few situations where i got stacked set over set / i believe all day my ~15 kk and ~6 AA hands in the 3500 hands all got only folds preflop and i made a LOT of mistakes when trying to set mine lower pocket pairs 55 to 1010 by either calling sub 100bb stacks preflop, or calling small bets on flops where i feel i am already dominated.

Other mistakes i feel i made were not giving villain credit many times losing the majority of the losses to calling with tptk or top 2pair against a villain i felt was button clicking, when in reality i was just giving them all my money saying "it would make no sense if they played a straight like this" or "if they had a set they would be trying to get more value, ill just shove so he pays me off with his worse pairs and draws (zzz so many leaks)"

The bright side of today was on 888 i came 2nd after being shortstacked with 9 people left to cash for ~$120 in a $3 tournament and then treated myself to the only other soft looking / worth tournament running for $6 and busted 31st with a really poor shove where i should have folded , 20 places were paid , 1-8 had $100+ payout i believe.

Today i plan to try my best not to stack off against anyone if i have TPTK & try to find spots not to pay off sets with my 2 pair as well. I need to give more villains credit and not just assume everyone is a maniac value owning themselves with a lower pair or draw.

Bank roll is at $14 on stars (Got my $10 VP bonus which is what i managed to blow through yesterday)

I don't like posting this poor of a graph to start but have to start somewhere, and i have to know some of this is variance and quite a bit was bad play that i can fix easily with being patient & thinking before doing things. If i don't post bad ones i won't be able to look back and compare the good ones so here we go ^_^

A lot of volume but i believe ~1k of these hands i should not of played ( was quite tired and just wanted to get past downswing)

Had a problem with HM2 and had to re install it + re install postgres , & somehow managed to get rid of all my hand history / opponent info.

Oh well, today has been a decent day so far - bankroll at $19.00 back on the upswing i will post a graph before i go to bed for how i did day 2.

Alright so here is my 2nl graph and stats for the last ~6k or so hands that i have. My first 4k went poorly ( as posted above ) but the next 5k after that have gone well

Bank roll sitting around $23 since i lost a bit to mtt shots.

Running quite well and also in a very soft pool of players . I have been playing a bit on a smaller site at 6nl which has so far been going quite well - over a very small sample size though so i will post those results after i accumlate 5k+ reg table hands probably. (Only around ~500 at the moment)

Feel free to comment on stats , it is over a fairly small sample - i am finding more spots to open preflop as i know my stats are likely a little tight and i have so far brought it up from last 5k sample from 16/13 to just about 18/15.

I did above^^ (not last post, the 2nd one)

First 4k hands went really poorly, then 4k-9k was my last graph.

I posted both

Also just noticed an inconsistancy in blocking my PS name, not that it matters , so ill just keep that revealed in my future ones.

For whatever reason decided to take a shot at 5nl with a 2 buyin stoploss (only stage i want to shot take this aggressively because i feel i can beat 5nl / it is quite similar to 2nl)

Ran good for the 1k hands i played before work today.

Second day/session at 5nl did not go quite as well, some coolers and a few hands that ended up AI i butchered and or tilted and made the wrong play just to see cards, but have reviewed them and know what i messed up on. I feel i can beat 5nl so i will continue to play at this level for my 3rd day tommorow.

Today was hands 1k to 2.5k

GL. I started a similar challenge with $50 playing 2NL max.
Would advise building up that bankroll before taking shots at 5NL... Mentally it plays tricks on your mind with such high risk.
