I play 1/2 NL and PLO, this full time thing started at the beginning of September. I don't really want to start a thread but it's a good place to get my thoughts out there. I also don't have any friends that play poker a lot so it's been me, myself, and I for the most part. I want to change that. I know talking with people that have similar goals as yourself is a great way to improve.

At the beginning of the year I started with $2,000 and began playing live at my local casino on weekends to see how I'd do. By the end of August I had about $4,000 and then my temp job abruptly ended. I decided it was as good a time as any to take a shot full time. I have expenses for the next 6 months covered and, although I will have some projects on the side, I want to put more effort into this than anything else I have tried to do before. I don't say that lightly.

I want to put down a few general weekly goals that I want to work within and hopefully by hitting these every week I will be putting myself in a better position to succeed.

()Play at least 50 hours live every week
()Play at least 10 hours online every week
()Start/Get into a study group
()Read/Watch vids at least 10 hours a week
()Work out every day

I'll update how my bankroll is doing every 2 weeks or so. It's currently sitting at about $8,600. I plan to move up to 2/5 at some point north of 10k. I'll also be getting set up online so that I can log more hands, share them here, and improve faster. I've played a bit in the past, I just need to get a new HUD.

So the month of October has seen the 5 goals I set out in my first post all end in failure.

-I only logged 30 hours live in October, which I'm none too happy about, I'm going to be working towards playing 30-40 hours a week for November since my schedule has changed and I will be grinding all weekend, rather than during the week.

-Online I logged about 10 hours total for the month so it was pretty much nonexistent. In November I am actually not going to be playing much online until NJ sites are up and running.

-Haven't found or started any type of study group yet.

-I have been reading but the hours probably total about 3-4 hours a week, I have a new book to read so I think I should be able to hit this for November no problem.

-Haven't really worked out all month, but not too concerned once I get in there I pretty much get into beast mode and like to stay very consistent. I just got a membership and today's the first day back in a while.

It's definitely disappointing not coming close to any goals I set out for, but I'm going to look towards my revised goals for November and hopefully I'll do a much better job at achieving them.

I have been working on trying to possibly go for my masters and also dealing with the impending legislation in NJ. At the present moment I am waiting until the end of November to hopefully be able to play online at pokerstars/whatever sites pop up. Until then I have decided to read Will Tipton's HU book. To keep myself busy and engaged during this reading, I plan to post about some of the things I've learned in each chapter. I think this will give me a much better grasp of what I'm reading since I will not only have to read it, but post exactly what it is that I've learned throughout the book.

My live stats for october:
Result: +930
Hours: 30

Year to Date:
Result: +5,050
Hours: 232

Bankroll: $6,483

Alright, I think it's time to bring this back.

In case Venger94 and 99ProcentDonk are wondering (sorry for the lack of updates?), here's what happened..

- The temp job I had in 2013 (as an accountant), called me in early 2014. They offered me slightly more money to come back. I took it. Turns out a steady income is hard to turn down.

- Throughout 2014 and early 2015 I mass-tabled .25/.50 NL and PLO on the NJ sites making a few thousand dollars before taking a shot at 600NL. My bankroll was promptly cut in half to $5,000.

- I decided to forego my masters (for the moment) and enroll in the CFA program. I passed level one in Dec 2014.

-In July of 2015 I decided to move to Florida. I cashed out my WSOP/PP balances to use for moving expenses. I stayed at a friends place for a few weeks and eventually was offered a position as a financial analyst for a small public company.

Now its Feb 2016. What are some of my goals?

- Pass level two of the program. I studied around 60 hours in January, I'd like to study a solid 20 hours a week going forward (Test is in June)

- Grind .10/.25 PLO for at least a few bb/100. My bankroll is about $1500. I can add $ as needed, but I have a few investments I'd like to diversify with.

- I'm looking to position myself for a promotion, as well as network for other opportunities at large-caps or more likely small to mid-caps.

I'd like to assess myself on a weekly basis, so the updates will most likely come on Sundays. I don't post much, but I'm always lurking so I'll be around..
