Ya whales behind who probably won't cold call a 3b that's out of the question in this spot IMO

I'm not sure where villain is from.

Up $1341 in 5 hours at Venetian, mostly PLO.

Had this weird hand vs. my O8 coach:

Hero raises UTG to $15 with KKJ9dd, 3 callers.

Flop 8h3h3d, pot $65
Hero bets $35, villain calls on BTN, fish in BB calls.

Turn Td, pot $170
Checks to villain who bets $125, BB folds, hero calls.

River Qs, pot $410
Hero leads $125, villain calls MHIG.

flop is close. I would actually call versus this type of player. Is it an outgoing loose/aggro reg from cincinatti?
haha this guy is a good friend of mine and I think the biggest winner in the Vegas PLO games. He has shown me some sick numbers and this is a kid I believe in regards to that type of stuff.

When I saw the Venetian board, I saw no PLO running. Wanted to play some PLO, but the game must've run pretty late at night, around 11ish or so.

Heater! Up $2590 in 4 hours of 1/2/5 PLO at Venetian.

Sometimes (especially on swingy days, either winning or losing) I wonder if the big swings mostly come from coolers. For example I remember one day I booked a $1k win was just from getting T976 in on 775 vs TT75 and winning at 2/5/10 PLO. However today was different. In terms of reciprocality, I would have never lost nearly as much in any of the villains' spots for all the big pots (even I didn't fold pre which I would for maybe all of these hands lol). I feel this goes without saying, but I'm not so silly to deny that I ran situationally amazing, or claiming I am a genius, but...

It is extremely refreshing to have a day where the edges are so clearly defined.

Hand 1: Main villain is recreational lady who plays 100/2 preflop and calls down with anything with at least 4 outs against the nuts postflop. 3 limps, hero makes $25 in BB with AQJT, all call.

Flop J52, pot $100
Hero leads $65, 3 calls.

Turn 7, pot $360
Checked around.

River K, pot $360
Hero leads $325, 2 folds, villain calls MHIG.

Hand 2: Main villain is very tight asian guy. So tight that I considered just flatting the river but then decided that would be stupid. Hero raises to $20 over 1 limper in EP with 8764, 1 caller in LP, 1 limper calls.

Flop 764, pot $60
Check, hero bets $40, call, fold.

Turn 6, pot $140
Hero checks, villain bets $75, hero calls.

River 3, pot $290
Hero checks, villain bets $150, hero check/raises to $450 all in, villain calls MHIG.

Hand 3: Main villain is an asian guy still in college who asked if I was Aesah upon getting to the table, has been playing very tight/solid so far. Hero limps KKT4 in SB after 2 limps, BB calls, 4 ways to the flop.

Flop K92, pot $20
Hero leads $15, villain in BB raises to $50, fold, fold, hero 3-bets to $150, villain calls fairly quickly.

Turn 7, pot $320
Hero leads $250, villain calls very quickly.

River 5, pot $820
Hero jams for $700 total, villain thinks for a bit and folds, claims to have had 22xx.

He can't have the 2 so he's got some bajunky hand with 22 in it. Maybe 22A3 or 2244?

What do you do if river was instead 5?

1 - what are stack sizes and villains? If villains are typical live lappish villains and have on average SPR>2 I like betting mediumish on this turn. If you check, villains will often pot with J2 or J7. If you bet médium size, they will often just call instead of jam (If SPR is under 2). Also, villains will almost always check with médium pairs and médium draws, and you really want to get value from these, particularly if there is potential to stack someone playing really loose (if they hit a straight, you hit a flush, or you both hit flushies)

2 - Against most online regs I like bet turn SPR under 3 and over 5, c/r turn with SPR3-5. Against someone that is nitty (will check A6/straights behind), I like bet at any stack depth. When the board is paired so low your way more likely to get value on the turn than on the river. AP villain probably had 64 and we were fortunate to get a 3/2 on the river.

edit: If your checking because you want to protect your checking range, there is no point, villains range is super strong when he calls here with 2 players behind

3 - nh wp.

That was me. Didn't completely expose myself, wanted to know what you thought of my game (hoping for a sesh post, shipped). Confirm your skill edge was beyond rest. Visible so.

Blame Bart's NL theories for my call turn-reevaluate-fold river, had ducks bottom set.

Thanks for the additional info concerning CLP. OP seems to indeed be a stand up guy. See you around.

Disappointed at the lack of LO8 discussion in this thread. J/k.

Glad to see you're running well.

Based on your results, have you considered flipping the condo in San Diego and staying in Vegas?

Florida has by far the best poker in my experience, so if I did an extended stay just for grinding I'd go to Miami. Too much of what Vegas has to offer (clubbing/etc) isn't what I'm in to also

Blackjack players are the worst when it comes to rationalizing their decisions. Well, I actually give that title to blackjack dealers. Somehow dealing the game for X number of years makes them feel like they're psychics.

Too bad you didn't play in Tunica. Could've got a comped meal for an hour of min-betting lol.

LOL oh yeah we kept asking the dealer what to do and he'd be like "well, the book says hit, but keep in mind the house wrote the book to take your money... I would stand"

Yeah I used to hate arguing with the dealers and other players so I just made up stuff that "sounded right." Like 12 against 2 or 3 "oh man, somebody's gotta take a card. Alright I'll do it." Blackjack tables are like an echo chamber of stupid. The loudest ones are always the most wrong too.

Your anecdote reminds me of a time I was arguing with a dealer who was criticizing my actions. I told him I "go by the book" which shuts the dealers up about half the time. But he was like "who do you think wrote the book?" I was like "uhhh mathematicians?" The dealer was stunned and he says "no dude, the casino wrote the book. That's why you can find them in the gift shop." And I told him he could do the math himself to prove it if he wants and that I've already done so.

Man I have so many stories I could tell from years of degening at the blackjack tables.
