Last trip total update awhile back was +7204 in 176 hours. Total for the entire trip now is +$20,283 in 309 hours.

Slowly working that bankroll back to where I can feel comfortable playing deep 5/10 NLHE and 5/5/10 PLO again...

Hand is most likely a call down. Villains range Is well under 50% boats id say. And you have outs

Yea I have no clue about limit lol. Do people c/r worse for value here (or like, EVER c/r bluff?)?

If I was villain, a large chunk (75%+) of my range that check raises that turn would be made flushes and straight draws that include a Ten.

I doubt you'll see any check raise bluffs there in a small live game

Hmmm. Crap. I think I folded the best hand then lol.

I'm not sure if this guy would c/r bluff but he's definitely capable of bluffing. The thing that's weird though is I make it very clear I have no ***** clue what I'm doing (I never know who's first to act in stud), yet people keep trying like level 5 bluffs on me. For example this same villain bet with JJ showing on 7th street in stud for like $40 into $400, I called with 2 pair, and he only had JJ... like I'm NEVER calling with worse and NEVER folding better lol.

If it was after the previous hand, you can't really fault him for trying.

It was before the previous hand, which is what led me to fold later as I have developed a calling station image

Hello Aesah,

Great thread, thank you for writing.

I am considering a trip to USA with 50%+ emphasis on poker. I would like to ask for advice on location and timing. This thread drew my attention to LA as a potential location.

Regarding games for moderate competent (nittish) player at midstakes 5-10 plo<> 5-10-25plo (willing to use agressive BRM and play 25-50 plo IF and only if +++ev) .. How would you rate LA, Vegas, Florida-Miami, Florida-Tampa? Those are my top picks.. Would you add something to the list?

Can you recommend times that are specially good (september <<>> march) in these locations? (tournaments etc..)
I only have listed the Caribbean adventure at Bahamas around January as a potential time of interest for the florida area.

How are Vegas games during Thanks giving/ Christmas/ New year? Off peak, peak or average?

Cheers mate!

Hi Monsieur

The best place to play year-round in the USA is Florida followed by SoCal (LA/San Diego). The best place to play at any given time in the year though is during the World Series in Vegas (June, maybe a bit before and after too).

Thanks for the comments!

Do those locations have 5-10+ PLO that runs daily?

Played 6 hours today, up $940.

Hand 1: Got induced on... villain is younger guy seems somewhat inexperienced, his very 1st hand at the table, he bought in for $400.

Guy raises to $20, CO calls, I call in BTN with 77, villain BB raises to $40, all call.

Flop T32, pot $160
BB bets $50, CO calls, I call.

Turn 6, pot $310
BB bets $50, CO calls, I raise to $260, BB ships for $50 more, CO folds. I lose vs AA

Hand 2: Hero raises to $20 in CO with 88, only BB calls. Villain is 40ish recreational guy.

Flop J87, pot $40
V checks, I bet $25, V c/r's to $60, I raise to $160, V jams for $500 total. I win vs AA.

down $1140 in 8 hours today.

Mandatory straddle in HJ, Hero raises in CO to $40 with AAJ2, recreational thinking player in BTN calls, playing like 45/5. Effective stacks $3k.

Flop T66, pot $100
Hero bets $50, BTN calls.

Turn 3, pot $200.
Check, BTN bets $125...

I hate this spot lol

What's your cbet frequency on a locked down flop like this? Do you always bet half pot? How's your image? If we are playing exploitable poker trying to stack fish, why not just check this flop vs a thinking player a large % of the time

well i hate this spot since I'm very close to the top of my range but I'm still not sure if I have enough equity to call here.

I mean I guess I shouldn't really hate the spot as a whole as he plays his range very poorly and gives up tons of equity but yea... similar situation is where you flop the K-high flush 4 ways and nit leads pot into 3 players lol

If you don't think you can xc turn profitably after being called then you are better off checking flop given your flop bet would be reduced to only a pure protection bet and this flop is too dry for protection being a primary reason to bet especially HU.
I think you should be checking a lot of your range on flop and delay cbetting your bluffs.
Also you aren't at top of your range. Without running sims I'd estimate you will have trips+ 12% of your total pf range and if you cbet 65% overall and trips+ always that means you will have better 18%.

I dunno I think I can get value from Txxx or any overpair on this flop, no?

But point taken. Checking makes a lot of sense here.

Down $3500 today in 6 hours. Lost some flips vs. all in blind, made a couple bad river calls. Bleh...

Was pretty tilted after my session since I felt like I made a lot of mistakes but after I calmed down and did some review it wasn't so bad overall, although still some mistakes.

Poker is being problematic for me, not sure if it's because I'm still in 600+ hours of breakeven, but my mood is still quite negatively affected after a big losing session. Hmmm....
