i have read the OP in this thread, every single word literally like 30 times, I love his writing style. Every sentence is genius, also really puts things into perspective. Just felt like sharing here.

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/54...-aler-1124887/

Also I kind of want to play the WSOP ME this year just because... I want to. Several of my fellow live grinders have suggested selling part of my action at 1.2 MU using this thread as my sole reference*, thoughts on is this reasonable/would it work? IMO that'd be +EV for anyone who wants but yea. I have little tournament experience but I have tons of experience playing shallow stacks thanks to $100 tiltstraddles from players at 5/5

*actually I think I'm on hendonmob from final tabling a couple $250 buyin donkaments last year lol too, but yea...

Making a goal of $15 an hour after making descent and good money is dumb. Get real and stop lying fool!!!
Money isn't everything (so long as you have some), especially if you've already been successful and have the confidence that you're capable enough to make a comfortable living no matter what you do.

I quit a job that paid far more than the one OP left (and I liked the job, company, and coworkers to boot!) to travel the world and start my own business.

We all have our personal priorities. Once you achieve a certain level of material success/comfort, happiness/life satisifaction should be your goal, not just more money.

I can't comment since I don't follow the marketplace that close, but plenty of people sell for higher MU, and the fact that you had a 100k job/are doing so well/people know where you play poker should all work in your favor, and it should only take a half hour at most to make the thread. You'll need marketplace approval.

Holy **** that 2 years of degeneracy thread is incredible.

Are you going to post some updated stats of your poker success? Interested to see how it's going.

And btw, I just like to stir **** up sometimes lol. I wish you luck.

lol @ comments above.

Up $1200 in 5 hours. Mostly from 1 hand where I limp T998 for $20 from SB, BB limps, folds to straddler in CO who pops it to $100, we both call.

Flop 873, pot $310
Check, nitty SB makes it $310, loose CO flats, I make it $1500, SB tank folds 33xx, CO ships it in for about $2000 total with 7654 no clubs.

Left a really good shorthanded game to keep my obligation to go to a broomball meetup (similar to hockey, played on ice but the twist is you wear regular shoes). Was pretty fun but holy hell I fell a lot, cut up my hands, and I'm sore as fk.

Vegas is in the super-near future, exact date not set but yea, super-near. Anyone in town for the series, feel free to PM me.

LA total: $72035, 588 hours.

oh, also made a river bet in a weird spot I didn't like.

Fish mandatory $10 straddle from button, Marvin raises to $30 from SB, I call from HJ with A855 (preflop is pretty iffy but not too big of a deal one way or another imo), very weirdly playing fish calls, for the most part loose-passive but also making pot-sized bets then showing down weird hands.

flop Q87, pot $95
Marvin checks (claims he had KKxx), I bet $75, fish calls, Marvin folds.

Turn K, pot $245
I bet $200, fish calls.

River A, pot $645
I bet $300, fish tank-folds. I think check/call is much better on this river, most if his range should be missed draws, and if he also backed into aces up they're probably better than mine and he's probably calling. Blah.

Another funny story I forgot if I already wrote about or not happened awhile back, this guy while drawing for button grabs a card and is like "man my luck sucks so much I bet this card is 5 or under", I'm like OK I'll bet you $50. He accepts! (I lose though...)

Played a hand today where I raise pre with AAxx, reg villain flats. Flop comes AKQ with two clubs (I have no clubs), pot is $45. I check, villain says "ok I'm not going to bet, but do you just want to check the entire thing down and whoever wins at the end wins $100?" I'm like uhhh ok if I'm behind free outs, if I'm ahead I probably get free value bets for more than I was going to get anyway. Board runs out with clubs, he shows KKxx and I win. Funny ****.

confirmed NLHE < PLO, played like 4 hours of NLHE and literally fell asleep at my table. Dealer woke me up and was like "it's on you" and I was still half-asleep and asked to be dealt out, and said they could pick me up if anyone was on the list lol.

Played the Bike donkament to get some practice for potentially playing in bigger WSOP tourneys. Holy hell I don't think anyone at my table ever folded a pair. I eventually busted with a straight vs. a flopped flush for 3 streets against a complete unknown.

Ummm interesting hands... not really many that I played. but holy crap that donkament had so many hilarious hands, guy calling huge AIPF with 42s, witnessed a hand where a guy limp/reraised AK for 100bb over a 5bb raise and flipped it over like it was the nuts when the raiser snapcalled (with AA). Had a guy at my table annoying tank every single time someone shipped pre (which was ALOT) with like some stupid hand... example hand:

Tight guy ships from UTG, tight guy calls, guy tanks for like 1 min and eventually folds. Board runs out A9844, and he goes "I had a King", some other donk at the table goes "Ace King?" as if that made any sense at all, and he's like "nah K7o, I would have called it was suited". Soooooo fk'ing random.

Up $300 in 8 hours.

LA total: $72335, 596 hours.

Don, you on twitter? If not, can you PM me your phone #please. I was heading to bike for 4pm PLO via the text but called at 4 floor said it didn't look close to going. Long story short I would've gotten better idea if I texted you.
Thanks

oh yea. I blame Zach for saying he's going to show up then not showing up.

PLO went and I played it for roughly 1 hour, started heads up vs. floorman George so that was pretty sweet. 4 other fairly easy players joined in so we were 6 handed for a bit, but it eventually broke as George obviously had to get to work, and 3 of the other guys were just waiting for the limit O8/stud game.

Played PLO8 for awhile too to prevent game from breaking, I'm pretty sure I had zero to negative edge in that game but it was worth the fun

I've played 6 hands of 5-5 PLO and already witnessed some guy misread his hand, and another guy call a river bet on a 4straight board and win with a set. This is going to be good.
