Played 12 hours yesterday, ended +500

I think I have some preflop leaks when it comes to calling pre specifically wrt overcalling. If there is a raiser who makes it 15 and he is a hundred bbs deep and has callers I’m 100% calling with pocket pairs(that I’m not 3betting) , suited connectors, and I think that’s fine. But I’m also finding myself calling with one gapped/2 gapped suited cards and suited aces and I think I’m spewing too much and should be either raising or folding. But folding feels bad since I thing my raw chances of winning are better than the 5-1 odds I’m getting to call so I end up calling.

Gonna take a couple days to study and think a bit on it. Next time I play I want to have more of a plan on what to do.

Played with an equity calculator a bit, I’m definitely not getting right price to be calling wider than suited connectors/pocket pairs multi-way. Time to nip that in the bud

Almost certainly a leak - good job tightening it up.

Played 2 sessions in last 2 weeks, -350 and +25.

The first session the -350 was lost in bulk between 2 hands , one of which I absolutely butchered playing AA and the other I think I could have found a fold with KQ on a KT89X runout where I called 3 barrels.

The second session nothing very notable to tell. I was largely card dead or hand cuffed by a player directly on my left until a seat opened on his direct left that I moved into and eventually stacked him getting back everything I was down + some. Also when a person on my direct left gets up I’ve been moving 1 seat over to have position of the next new player (unless I think I have a good reason to not move).

I’m definitely leaking less chips (at least itfeels that way, after adjusting preflop play). I think my next issue I need to work on is being less sticky with hands postflop.

To date I’ve played 170 hours and I’m down 1300. Ended up winning 12/23 sessions. I definitely feel like I’ve improved and wish I could go back and get a mulligan on that disastrous first session in January where I dropped 5 buyins.

Keep up the grind! On the three barrel you called down, especially in a live game, what did you feel you were ahead of? Did you have a particular hand in mind? Did you consider what portion of his range you beat and how much of his overall range it represented?

I find a mistake I make is picking a hand I beat and justifying calling because of that. I now try to think about how much of his range I can beat in a spot. There are always going to be hands you beat that could justify calling but it leads to us calling down far too wide.

The hand was a while ago but I remember thinking he could play KJ this way, and before the river he's certainly playing Ax flush/combo draws that way, Tx with draws. IIRC there were 2 flush draws possible on the turn. He also had position on me since i was in the blinds and he was late position raiser after some limps. Possibly I could have just found a fold pre or 3bet but I thought even out of position im ahead alot of his range there that calling would be ok to keep hands in his range im ahead of.

Played for a little under 5 hours today and ended +960.

Left early to lock in the win after last few sessions not being so hot. Morale raise +ev.

I’m feeling very good about my preflop play. Still think I’m too sticky in some spots postflop.
