Hey guys, so started taking cash games seriously from December 2016 (all images are from 01/12/16 - present). I didn't have much interest in zoom at this time as I found cash tables softer. I found 5nl very easy to begin with playing quite simple ABC poker. People where making so many mistakes that I didn't feel any need to employ fancy strats. Started with $100 and ran it up pretty fast was at $200 by Jan.
In Jan I started play 10nl, 20BI seemed fine and ran that upto $300 by mid Jan. I thought I was crushing them games but looking back it was just a good run. I knew I wasn't the best by far at the stakes but I was very good at finding bad players and getting position on them. During this time I kept looking at the 16nl games because they looked really soft when compared to 10nl. So I took some shots running 3 10nl and 1 16nl.
I did pretty well starting out at 16nl making $40 in 400 hands. So started playing this as my reg stake. This only lasted a couple of sessions however going from +$40 to -$50. Some bad beats and losing some flips also I just do not feel I had the experience to play with the people there.
This crushed my bankroll and confidence. I dropped back to 10nl and found I was struggling. This is when I started to realise that I needed to improve my overall play. So made my bankroll management 30BI instead of 20.
I started playing cash table 5nl again and found that a lot of the tricks I was doing at 10nl and 16nl simply didn't work because they was going over the opps head. I had to go back to simple ABC poker.
This is when I started playing zoom because I didn't have to spend as my energy table selecting and finding fish, I could focus on playing better. This is basically the story so far.
My Bankroll is around $250 now; going to focus on 5nl zoom for the time being as I can get a lot more hands per hour with 2 tables of zoom vs 4 reg and find I am more focused.
So Goal:
- When I get back upto $300 ill be mixing between zoom and reg 10NL
- Focus on number of hands instead of results
- Keep learning on and off the table around work
- 25NL by the end of the year
- Play and learn more PLO because it is so much fun
