Gross spot vs Kydd. I don't know if I would be able to get away there. Fwiw when you pot the river it looks like you have a strong value hand and I don't think he is c/j as a bluff very often. Jx is in his value range but not much else we can beat.

I have worse than KJ here probably never. Until you show me you can make good lay downs vs me I'm not going to show up with air. Also, you having KJ is pretty face up here after you check back flop, bet turn, and pot river

Been too busy in Vegas to update. Will post pics sometime. Entering One Drop today, my first WSOP event. Super excited, also loopy from 3 hours of sleep. I probably should take better care of myself before my first tournament.

Turn my 1% into a legit bankroll for myself. Run good.

I'm sure you'll kill it! The structure at Harrah's properties is generally amazing! Just using my first post to cheer on my buddy turning that 2% lean London Broil into a fine Filet Mignon. Edited posthumously to fix terrible HTML markup.

I have 50% and was the main contributer in TAO getting drunk and 3 hours of sleep. Seems to have worked since he posted about an early double up and easy table draw.

GL mate, remember playing you at TAO. Certainly similar skills required with poker.

Got table changed from the softest table ever to one which has three recognizable faces from TV. Crap. Good thing I have the table covered with 12k.

Got cold decked SO hard and busted Level 6.

Hand 1: Lost 6k of my 12k+ stack.
All in on a T high flop with KcTc vs. JdTd I turn a flush draw, villain rivers one of two remaining non-club jacks.

Hand 2: Lost 2k of 6k stack
Guy started shoving so he could rebuy before rebuy period ended, I called with A6s vs. his 55. Flopped an A, turned a 5.

Hand 3: Lost remaining 3600
Folded to me in SB with 200/100/25 ante. I shove 65s and BB snaps with AKo, i lose the 60/40 flip.

I still dont understand how people can grind tournaments. I didn't get in a single interesting hand where I had to make any sort of decision that required thinking. Where's the fun in that?

That's generally why the majority of people have more respect for the play of cash game grinders.

I may be a busto 1/2 player, but I think you are too deep to shove 56ss there. Obv it should be based on reads, Qx is better to shove here imo.

Perfectly fine shove with 18 bigs, especially if it was just limped/folded around to him in the SB. BB had a hand unfortunately and gg.

Go kill the cash games.

Nash calculator says
22+, Kx+, Q2s+, Q6o+, J3s+, J8o+, T5s+, T8o+, 95s+, 98o, 85s+, 87o, 74s+, 64s+, 53s+ as a shoving range from the SB there.

I just arrived at the Rio with the entire stable. Hopefully we all put in some good grinding today/tonight and run train on these games.

Don't take he decision lightly. Treat your backer like you'd treat any other employer. Not only does it have to be a profitable deal for you, but make sure the coach/backer is both trustworthy and skilled if you can. Also, it really helps to have a good social chemistry. You're going to be spending lots of time around each other - butting heads about non-poker stuff is probably a deal breaker even if the prior criteria are met.

I promise to post reports with LOTS of pictures as soon as I get some free time. I haven't played any cash games the last two days because Ive been hanging out at a really nice villa with some high stakes cash/tournament pros for the 4th. Out of respect for everyone's privacy, I won't go into much detail but...

Yesterday I was sitting down eating doritos in the kitchen. A dude with glasses walks in and he looks sorta familiar. I spent about an hour trying to figure out where I knew him from, assuming I had played him at the Borgata before or something. Took me awhile, but I eventually figured it out.

Spoiler:
It was Greg Merson.

I am so thankful to dhcg and Kydd for opening the door to all these experiences for me. Without them, Id probably still be grinding 1/2 making 16/hr while working a regular old 9-5 job. Instead, Im doing things Id only ever dreamed of.

Checking in again. Still too busy grinding to post a full report.

So, about 7 weeks ago, I was a college kid who played 1/2 for some nice part-time money. Fast forward to now....and I'm grinding 5/10 at the Wynn with Vanessa Rousso?!?!?! Unbelievable to be on this fast-track. Here's a fun hand in which I got owned (I should probably post hands where I own others, but those are just so much less interesting IMO).

5/10 Wynn

Preflop: 2600 eff. Hero in the HJ with A A.
Hero open-raises to 40, SB calls, Vanessa calls in the BB.

Flop 120: Q J X
Checked to Hero, Hero bets 80, SB folds, Vanessa calls.

Turn 280: A
Vanessa leads out for 120, Hero calls.

River 520: K
Vanessa bets 260, Hero calls.

Spoiler:
Vanessa shows K T

Cliffs notes: I haz set against Stars Pro and I don't want to fold.

Turn
I didn't raise after turning top set because I was pretty sure she was inducing with her bet sizing. I figured she had KT but I had odds to fullhouse-mine so I called.

River

I haven't posted a graph in awhile, so here's where I am at now.

The sharp inflection point is pretty obvious. That's what getting a good coach/backer can do for you.

Sick ass graph. Meanwhile mine still looks like one of Shaq's farts being measured on a Richter Scale.
