Haha yea some wild plays for sure. Thx for the rail my friend

Unfortunately got 4th to end it, oh well. Not a bad result though from coming in short to start day 2. I'm going to take a super quick power nap and then cold shower and come on for the sat grindslot. I'm superrrrr tired, as I think I said in my post earlier that I barely got any sleep from time I woke up at 6am on Friday, but gotta hit the grind!

I'm going to address this in its own post as it's a very common question. Probably should have covered it in the OP although deal will probably change over time.

Railing my boy kleath 3handed in the $530 6m with a big CL and we'll see if I end up getting to more than just this

Edit: In the time of writing this, he won! GG my friend <3

Will respond to everything else and make an update hopefully tomorrow.....need to get to sleep as I'm exhausted

Thanks much for the GG first of all, decent score for sure, especially since I now don't even play all the 1ks and skip most of the 2ks+ as well due to lack of hyper sat action. Let's now get into my deal

-I play my lowest stakes on my own dime and have for a few years.

-Rest of my SNGs $49 and under that I am staked for I get 90%/10% in my favor. This is mostly like $15/$27.50 16man hyper sats, $28/$37.50 6max hyper sats and then $25 SKO hyper turbo and $30 normal hyper turbo

-SNG $50-$129 I get 75%/25% in my favor. This is mainly $50/$100 SKO hyper turbo, $60/$100 normal hyper turbo, $74 6max hyper turbo and $68 16man hyper sats.

-SNG $134+ and all MTTs on HS deal at 50/50 cut. Includes all the HS 25bb, HS hyper sats, and all my MTTs.

-I sell some action directly back to jama-dharma. For example I keep about $300/game of the 25bb on stake and then sell the rest to him. I do the same for the MTTs as well.

So to directly answer your question, I only had like 35% of this $1050 on stake and then the other 65% I sold directly to him.

After being in huge MU for so long in the past, I never wanted to allow myself to get super duper buried again and not able to win money for myself for some long period of time

Honestly not really at all. I have it set up in google docs to where everything auto calculates and I essentially just plug in numbers from SS. I then have a balance sheet that tabulates everything from all the tabs and spits out what Jama's BR should be in my cashier. Then add that to my own balance and match it to the money I have online...easy game . Honestly it takes me ~45 mins to do a full month of accounting (twice per month) so it's not that bad at all. I assume it probably takes a lot of people longer to do their accounting even if it's a far less complex deal just because they don't have a good spreadsheet/tracking system set up.

Some shots from my spreadsheet system heh

Balance sheet

Gonna try to get back in time to make another post but I'm out the door right now to go to dinner. Been a crazy crazy 5+ days, few little stories to tell when I get the chance to!

Heyo! Finally an early finish where I'm just stuck 1 tabling the Hot $215 and nothing to do tonight other than study.

Not sure that was a good idea looking back, as the burnout for him was real, but was fun to sweat those swings every day/wcoop/scoop stuff. also remember when Elio started playing them, and he just heatered like a mad man and won so much money. watching over his shoulder as he reg'd some 7500's to the 21ks was fun.

truck pics/update?

hope all is well with you down there.
Heyo, you're gonna make me take a fun trip down memory lane! The year that MO was racing for 1st to 100k and 1mil was 2013 IIRC and it was him and Awice head to head. I don't even remember how that went, did MO get 1st to 100k and Awice 1st to 1mil? Honestly don't remember

I didn't start playing the nosebleed sats until 2015 as B3rtstare finally retired and gave me his seat (we couldn't play in the same games together once he started staking me ofc). In 2013 I did play some hyper sats but I was pretty bad at them still. I remember playing some $720s against all the old school guys. I think starting in 2014 is when I always played sats during the COOPs but they didn't become my main game until 2015 IIRC.

Obviously looking back, I wish I would have played the hyper sats from the get go of my relocation. Oh well, one of my many regrets heh

Let's get to the rundown
-Scoss retired and actually just had a baby with his lady a couple weeks ago. Congrats Scossboss! He indeed did 0 studying ever, he didn't even run HM2/PT4 or anything like that haha

-Jorj95 retired and actually moved back to the US, Arizona area IIRC. Last I talked to him he was back playing some live mixed. He also ran no HUD/didnt use HM2/PT4

-B3rtstare has been doing DFS for a living since 2016 or something like that. Doing well and I talk to him about once a month or so as I'm basically his last remaining connection to the poker world.

-JohnSmith: Still plays once in a while. Just looked and he's still ranked #6 in the world at chess according to his Wiki page (June 2019 ranking)

-Cis_san: Haven't seen him in the sat streets since 2016. Think he still plays some 500z and some like 5knl and whatnot once in a while

-Anguila: Retired from playing in 2016 after completing 10mil lifetime VPPs

-Pokerger1337: Still plays a bit but not that often. Actually talked to him for a quick min on skype a few days ago

-Poker_in_PB: Retired in 2015 or so IIRC. Maybe 2014. Doing well, I see him once in a while down here in Rosarito as he is from the greater San Diego area and has rental properties/airbnb's here in Rosarito.

-Acoimbra: Think he is now playing on PS.ES/FR/PT and is like the Portuguese name pro on that site.

-Sly Caveat: Retired from playing in 2014 iirc. Not sure what he's up to.

-Wtfgmon: Not sure what happened to him. He randomly showed up to play some SKOs recently but hadn't seen him in a while before that.

-Bencb: Well we know what he's up to

Think that pretty much covers all the guys that very regularly played $360s+ over the years. Maybe I missed a few guys and then in 2015 there was a whole slew of guys who moved up from the mid stakes and from 25bb and only really played in 2015/2016. That would be
-Daddyrnac/Jayc170/1vcky188: Banned for softplaying in 2016
-Sale1337 + Jd Klinkz: Both moved to other formats and Sale I'm pretty sure is out of poker now
-Onegeargo!: Got lucky with Crypto and mostly been not playing since 2017. Does sometimes come on and grind for a day/bit but then disappears again

no chance he can make more money playing live mtts. he should just concentrate on getting more of his online action as he goes and stay on this current grind he is on.

Hey so first of all, Oladipo, I forgot to post in your PGC to say that I hope you continue posting and that I'm another one of those silent followers that love the updates.

I basically agree with everything that was said above. Think very few are really crushing it and profiting even $150k+ a year after everything. HRer-SHRer world might be slightly different but I'm talking the guys out there grinding the circuit or I guess what would be called mid stakes of live poker (WSOPc MEs, lot of big guarantee 1k-5k events, some good 10ks or whatever yaknowww). So instead of reiterating all those thoughts, let me just add a few more thoughts of my own on the subject.

General thoughts
-Taxes are huge being a US citizen and you get a big tax break for living outside the US for 330+ (iirc) days a year. I don't know exact details but it's something like no federal tax on 1st ~100k of your salary for the year. The difference between just living outside US at all times like I do, minus my few days per year in the US, and losing out on that tax break is enormous

-Hourly. Think hourly for me is much better online
-Quality of life. Waking up on the beach in Mexico every day is pretty ****ing great. I have a pretty normal life, as in I mostly grind from the 7am-5pm hours of the day and then can get on to normal social functions or going out with friends or whatever. Also leads to me having a normal sleep sched. I wouldn't have this playing live and **** being in casinos all the time lulz

WSOP specific
-WSOP probably would have been higher EV for me starting in 2018. But before that, I always crushed EV wise during the summer when the top regs would be gone. I remember in 2017 that I EV'd something like $90k between the COOPs (very end of May to 1st week of September, so basically 3 months and change) while playing a total of like 200 hours.
-On that note, summers are so fun down here so even if my EV is now less than going to LV, you have to take into account the fun/quality of life EV
-Expenses for WSOP summer are ****ing outrageous in comparison to my life here in Mexico even though I live like a king down here.

Yea so that's kind of where I'm at. I think in the future that I will have to give up the online grind. Luckily I live so close to the US border and am super close to San Diego and then Los Angeles is only a 3.5-4 hour drive and Las Vegas is like 6. My plan is to essentially be 'semi retired' at that point and live down here and cross into the US to play live cash.

________________________________________________

Sooo, been a wild last days of WCOOP in my personal life. Let's back it all the way up to Thursday morning with me waking up at 6am

-Get through the Thurs grind and Ruseman and I end up meeting up for dinner and drinks and end up going out to a couple bars after. Whoops, didn't get to bed until like 2:30am

-Friday I wake up at 7am and have day 2 of the $215 WCOOP to get ready for. On the grind all day long, end up meeting lbbigslickak for dinner and drinks and it runs kind of late. I get home at maybe 11pm and to bed around midnight.

-Asleep for 2 hours and at like 2am Alisha hits me up and is wanting to come over for the weekend. She knows I have to grind and won't distract me etc, but still, instead of being asleep at 2am I was up waiting for her to arrive and didn't get to bed untii like 5am. Woke up at like 8am and got to the grind about 1 hour later than I intended to start...not bad. I've basically been on very little sleep and only missed 1 intended grind hour

-Saturday is Shana's bday and Alisha and I end up over at her house for her little house party. Super fun especially as Shana is almost done with her remodel of her house (looks great!) . Eat really good food, drink some alcohol and luckily said no to the pot brownies. Alisha ended up eating 3/4ths of one and was superrrr ****ed up. I had to carry her to bed and all lolz.

-Slept from like 12am to 5am, waking up a bit later than my intended 4:45am sunday start. Worked out alright though as PS had a freeze where all tables/action was shut down so I didn't miss much. Alisha leaves at like 3pm or something like that. Somehow make day 2 of the $1k Sunday Kickoff and therefore have to wake up at 5am again on Monday, the day I was for sure planning on sleeping late and catching up on some sleep lol. Somehow even though I'm this exhausted, I don't sleep for **** .

-Wake up at 4am for the 5am restart. I am on the FT of the tournament and my ex Lupita texts me asking if she can 'borrow a room for a few days at least.' I'm like 'uhhh I guess?' She ends up getting here and post FT tells me briefly that her now ex was beating on her for the 4th time. Punched her quite hard like 3-4 times and had her in a choke hold up against the wall and all. Quite ****ed up and I'm glad I can at least offer her a safe place for herself and her son.

She is the girl that owns the apartment complex, but they are all full and she also has rented out her Mom's house that is 50% her/50% her brother. So she really had nowhere to go with all of her stuff + son which was pretty unfortunate.

So anyway, they are both still here and it's fine. Her son is 12 and pretty chill, don't mind him at all. I think she's thinking about trying to stay and make a relationship work with us which is potentially all fine and dandy, but ****, is something we need to discuss especially given all the circumstances and I really don't have time to have that discussion or think about it. Basically told her it's fine to stay and we'll talk post WCOOP.

Sooo yea, that catches you guys up on my IRL shitshow. I'm 5/18 in the Hot 215 right now so going to just post graphs and gtfo! GLA on the tables

Yesterday (as it posted incorrectly above) + today

This thread is great dude - your openness and honesty is really unrivaled in most of the High Stakes poker world.

I'm curious to know, considering how well you've done at the high stakes, what have you chose to do with your money and what is your long term goals with bankroll? You mentioned in a post above that at some point you will leave online poker and retire. Are you invested in the stock market/index funds/crypto/real estate?

I'll get back to other posts later today. C/p from skype

-Wake up and realize house internet is out. ****

-Realize my cell phone data also ran out yesterday so now i need to deposit at a convenient store to be able to buy a new internet package for my hotspot. **** but luckily lupita offers to go do that.

-Go to log in and I have a hanging login and am now waiting to be able to even get online. With how withered email support is nowadays, I say 'Oh great, can I even play today?' Luckily luke is there to help over on discord <3

-Finally get online and playing and my ****ing mouse starts double clicking and ****ing up. Quickly have to get another one out of its box and plug in all while carefully clicking my action hotkeys on my keyboard as if i misstrike i might not be able to click anywhere and mouse isnt plugged in yet

This is all before 8am. Now I have just had Lupita call the internet company to get an incident report # and now im on whatsapp trying to bribe the guy that works this area into coming to my house today

Heyo, yea I don't really care and am mostly an open book...the same way I am in real life hehe. So to answer your question, I went back and found my answer to the last time this was asked in my thread and I'm going to c/p it below. I'll add a few thoughts before it

-I don't know if I ever posted this but back in 2012 Awice told me to put aside 10-20k for life expenses and otherwise go all in on Bitcoin. I had some other friends, like theskllzdatkllz, saying the same thing. Lol, wish I would have listened to him! Think the price was still sub $25/BTC at that point. Pretty sick to think about..if I would have even just put like 2.5k into it at that time and rode it all the way through, pretty nice sum. BUT that is not the way to to think about it at all as I made some other investments that I lost my ass at and also if I did buy BTC who is to say that I wouldn't have pulled out super early or even worse, started buying more as price was skyrocketing and potential lost a bunch back.....obviously we can't know what could or would have happened and is why I don't ever let it bother me.

-I regret spending $100k+ on my project truck (including what I paid my mechanic) but it also doesn't really bother me that much. I'd prob snap sell it if someone offered me $50k cash for it and book the loss and learn the lesson . My buddy sold his 7.3 Excursion (my trucks 'sister' as it they were called the sisters) for $25k 24 hours after he listed it and he only put very basic engine upgrades in and then a sick suspension system. I however went balls deep and basically have upgraded literally everything you can under the hood to the max and therefore it is possible I could get $50k for it.

-Otherwise I basically have the same thoughts. Not many regrets and now just trying to replenish my liquid cash fund!

Quote from a few months ago
I was not wise at all with money when I was younger and apart from being a big degen and spender IRL, I also made a couple bad investments. I learned a lot from my mistakes of the past though and I think that's one of the most important things to take away from the situation. Live and learn and improve for the future, ya know!?

So I then saved up money again and once I had a lot of cash, I bought my truck and got into that project. Went a little crazy with it, as I tend to be, and put >$100k in it which was obviously a bad investment as well hehe. But it's fine, I'm glad I'll have the truck for lots of years even though I'm not even driving it right now as I've held off on completing it.

Around the same time as buying the truck is also when I got land down here. In the future I fully intend to build a house. I still think buying land in the correct spots/locations is one of the better investments and I'll probably look at buying more in the further future.

Right now though, I'm working on rebuilding the ole liquid cash flow as I got pegged really hard in the past 10 months between my own health problems and seeing a cardiologist (no insurance) and not being able to properly grind for months which lead to me not making much money for 6 months while having huge expenses. It was good that at my age, I just had 100k+ cash laying around to pay for everything. Between my own health issues and my mom getting cancer, I realized it's important to have that extra cash around for when it's needed, and therefore it's now my goal once again to cut spending and focus on putting money aside once again.

I have no real regrets though. My parents raised me to enjoy myself and my life. We're born with nothing and once we're dead, we've got nothing once again...so might as well enjoy it in the moment.

Yea L@P (Starting Gun here on 2p2) was my first roommate here in Mexico. He quit playing in either 2014 or 2015, idr which. He def ran over EV over the course of his career but the dude also grinded super hard and I was happy to see it pay off for him.

He now works for Electronic Arts, EA. Says he loves his job and the last time I spoke to him he said he only plays poker a couple times per year as a rec player and he doesn't really miss it.

I often talk of my pure love for the game and it's something that keeps me going and keeps me from burning out as I wake up and just am really pumped about playing poker each day. L@P is a great example of someone where poker was a means to an end and he certainly didn't even really enjoy playing poker all that much. It felt like a 'job' to him. Nothing wrong with that of course, a good % of the world population is stuck in a job that they are miserable with.

But really didn't think I could tell Lupita no given what happened. Actually with the internet situation and whatnot, it has actually been good that she's been here. She has dealt with both internet techs that have arrived today and called the head maintenance guy for me to have him open up the downstairs so this 2nd tech can run a cable all the way from the parking deck level up to my condo. On top of that she has been cooking and doing a lot of cleaning as well....basically acting as my PA for the week and is a better version of Betty, my PA lolz.
