Will make an actual response at some point soon....big grind today! Cashed 0 mtts, was not a very profitable SCOOP on the mtt felts at all , luckily only fired 2 2ks and didn't play all the 1ks etc, so think even bricksquading it all the way out that I didn't lose TOO much

Back at it for a small session tomorrow for wrap up day, hopefully will find time to post after that. Gl to those still grinding!

Well, good way to end SCOOP at the sngs!

Don't have time for a full update, but figured I'd at least leave this

Day

Friday night went out and had some fun for the first time since before SCOOP started. My buddy has just started as the VIP host at Deja Vu Tijuana and he wanted me to roll with him for his first Friday of work (3rd day). Came and picked me up and we got over there super early, 7pm, although was fine with me as I was hoping to not be out super late..obv never ended that way but had good intentions

Was a fun night, hadn't been to that club in about 2 years. Met the owner's son who manages the place and ended up partying with him and his buddy for part of the night. American guy, can't remember which state he was from but maybe Cali.

Ended up with this super beautiful Colombian chick. Swapped #'s with her and she's wanting to come hangout in Rosarito before she leaves to head back to Colombia for a bit. Also swapped #'s with a few other hotties, always been easy for me to get girls #'s down here (see a few pics of my condo and the jacuzzis/pools/clubhouse/beach etc where I live and it's a done deal ) but was even easier when hanging with the owners son and then being really good friends with VIP host etc heh.

She's the girl on the right, her friend quite the hottie too

Go to 44seconds into the video she's the girl on the left. They end up eating sushi off of her in the vid...only vid I found with her in it (remembered the artist) but she's in a bunch of music vids

Will maybe be back later today with SCOOP wrap up post and updated challenge #s, have to head out now as I have some **** to do and then have a massage tonight. Gla out there!

Soooo, time for updated stats and graphs

SCOOP MTTs went brutally bad, **** mtts and whatnot . Wasn't really pleased with how I played in a lot of spots either, doing some more work on my game and SCOOP isn't the best time to be 'experimenting' but whatever I guess.

SNG action was super super ****ing boring, really crazy to compare to even 3 years ago and how HS action is just dead. That's okay though, made some money for myself and at the end of the series I'm hardly in any makeup on both my LS and Midstakes deal...still buried in my MTT/HS deal but whatevs. Leaving myself in a good position to both profit in my small stake games on my own dime and also to get chops on my 2 lowest stake deals within my stake for jama-dharma.

My 'summer' (between the COOPs) starts tomorrow and this will be the summer I focus the most on poker and studying. Back in 2015-2016 I barely played between the COOPs, certainly logging <250 hours total each year from end of May until the start of September, and did basically no study at all. This year I have the challenge to keep me motivated plus honestly feel super rejuvenated when it comes to studying and improving, something I struggled with from 2015-2017; though with the amount of success I was having it did kind of seem silly to 'waste' hours studying.

Additionally, tons of violence in the Rosarito area (and not just Tijuana like normal) and people are ****ing dying everywhere. People that I know of or have met or in 2 cases just this past weekend, people that Shana used to deal with on a weekly basis and knew the family of and whatnot. It's almost all cartel related, although many other deaths have been politics related as it's election year and **** has been seeming crazy across Mexico (34 politicians have been killed in Mexico during this election season the last I saw). But yes, that too has already been and will continue to keep me from going out so much at night. Never know when you'll be in the wrong place at the wrong time, especially since when I go out to party I'm mostly hanging out at dodgy places and know most of the dodgy people. Am kind of glad that I'm not cruising around in my truck either as that thing just screams $ signs.

I plan to spend some time this week studying a lot of SKO hyper spots. My plan more or less is to do my hyper sat + MTT grind, take a quick break and then come back at night for 25bb + 25bbsko hypers. I might play a quick session of them tonight just to mark a ****ton of spots. Will be challenging to feel good about my game at all these SNG formats I'm mixing, but that's more motivation to study and grind a lot and do a lot less partying than normal

With that being said, I am having one of the chicks I met on Friday night come hangout on Wednesday. Will play a short session that day and then afternoon/evening with her before she heads down to Ensenada for the Baja500. Will be jealous of her and the other chicks I know going down there as I will not be going! Truck isn't ready and honestly don't feel like going down there if I don't have the truck with me. Durango is back to stock now too as we have to pass smog test in California to finish the paperwork...I really just CANT show up to an event like this without being in some souped up truck/suv.

That's enough of all of that, time to get into some graphs

SCOOP 2018 vs SCOOP 2015, that abi difference lolz

You're a beast. The Jorj95 of the modern era

A few questions:

1. How do you maintain the necessary intensity/durability when playing more than 12 tables with intense decisions over many hours?

Energy drinks/supplements? Something else?

2. What percent of MTT breaks do you use the full 5 minutes and take break from the satelites?

3. I use a mac computer, but my stars crashes periodically, maybe every other day, particularly when I have many tables. Have you encountered the same issue over the past year or so?

Thanks,

You're a legend.

Well, should be a fun evening after the Sunday grind, 10 strippers and the owner of said strip club arriving to my place to party after they're done working at the beach bar . Might be 11 as I think my little hippie braided out girl wants to come based on convo I just had like 10 mins ago w him and checking phone and having a message from her

club website: http://dejavutijuana.com/

Gla on sundayfunday, hoping i bust everything early

Fun fun fun afternoon/evening after the grind out there partying on the beach with the Deja Vu crew. Got home at like 8:30am this morning and lost all of today and really need to get some studying in and then to bed so I can put in a big grind tomorrow. Somehow didn't end up hungover/feeling that bad after the 15 hours of drinking lulz

I mostly took vids, think these are the only pictures I have from yesterday. Ended up with the lovely Amy, the girl in the pink. Pics do her no justice, she is really beautiful and has a really pretty face etc. Cutie in the black is Kendall and is another girl I've had my eye on and will have to visit at some point . Other chick is super super cool and is my buddy's favorite chick right now.

Had 9 chicks from the club in total there along with the manager, some of the waiters and the main security guy. Knew most of them already and apparently all the chicas knew who I was though I only knew 5/9 before yesterday. Hadn't ever spoken to Kendall before but with her and Amy being super close and me finally having the chance to go for Amy (thx for the permission papa loudawggg) I got to know the 2 of them a lot better yesterday.

Some of the shareholders of the strip club actually ended up being there as well and noticed the main manager and realized soon after that Deja Vu was working/promoting the club and working directly with Club Iggy's and were a part of the show. They didn't know about this and of course were happy to see this. Met the 3 of them and chatted about poker, my life here in Mexico and their business interests and whatnot; cool guys and fun convo.

But yea, great time was had. This week though I need to focus a little better on work! Gonna hit the study grind for a bit and then pass out, gla on the tables!

Stupid busy right now. Got all of my IRL **** handled so that I am good to just grind during this TRIO series that starts on Sunday. Had a BBZ coaching session last night and also doing some studying with my buddy on a bunch of different MTT related topics. On top of that, need to run a ton of HRC sims between 6m/16m/25bb. Probably won't play tomorrow so that I can instead continue to study and be as prepared as I can be for this big grind!

Due to that, going to just quickly post a May graph and an updated challenge graph...officially +6figs for the 300k game challenge through 5 months of the year!

Challenge

May all SNGs

And took a pic in front of the truck today. Really is wild how when I first bought it I was a fair bit taller than it (as I posted above) was and now it's a good bit taller than I am. I guess added more height to it than I realized. Anybody that sees it in person (as the pics really just don't do it justice at all) always thinks it looks massive

She's quite the dirty *****, really needs a good washing lolz

It really is, even more so if you speak Spanish and are outgoing etc, everyone super chill here for the most part

So pretty crazy day, at about 3:15pm my mechanic's GF calls me and is frantically trying to tell me what's going on. She speaks 0 english and even though we have 0 communication issues ever in person (as even if I say something wrong she knows my Spanish very well and will know what I mean), on the phone I have trouble speaking to anyone and everyone in Spanish as I can't hear for ****

Anyway, she needed me to come to the Red Cross hospital as Nick had cut off part of his finger while working on my truck

Fortunately their reaction at the house was very intelligent and they got to the hospital very quickly and they got him in asap...he only ended up losing about 1/3rd of that pointer finger. It really sucks, but definitely could have easily been a lot worse.

He's such a champ too; comes out and is immediately joking around and laughing about it lulz, what a guy. Betty and her mom had actually just left to go grab something to drink so he and I got his bill settled and got his prescription list and instructions and whatnot and then started walking to go find them. He's hungry so we end up leaving in the 2 vehicles from the parking lot and grabbing some food and laughing and having a good time, really was surprising how well he handled it all. Leave and they take my Malibu back to their house and I bounce south in my Durango.

Total cost for the surgery: 368 pesos (about $20 USD lmao)

Crazy crazy how cheap it was. Couldn't even imagine how much that would have run in the US.

Back home now and going to study some spots and then get to bed; have to be up and on the grind by 4am my time! Hopefully tomorrow is a better day...
06-03-2018 , 12:53 AM
Don't click if super squeamish. It's just a screenshot of that whole part of the messenger convo I just had with Betty right now (on purpose, so it was the most zoomed out/smallest pics possible). To me not nasty, but I know some people have really weak stomachs for stuff like this

Spoiler:

Nice avg roi to start the month, less nice on the profit end tho

Got like 0 studying in but meh, gotta get to sleep as alarm will be going off in 5.5 hours
06-05-2018 , 12:32 AM
Just decided while sitting here that I'm not happy with my effort I've put in post SCOOP and that starting Wednesday, I'm gonna go off on volume. I haven't slipped into as bad of habits as I tend to between the COOPs, but the # of hours I've wasted the last couple weeks is annoying. It wouldn't be as bad if instead of grinding I was studying or doing something productive, but as it tends to be each summer, it's just me pissing away the hours/days if I'm not on the grind or sleeping.

Tomorrow was already a planned short session due to the TRIO events not being super great and having a massage booked, but I'm going to finish tonight with some more study and tomorrow evening will aim to get a ton of study done (including FINALLY some 6m SKO study) and starting Wednesday, going to really get after it in terms of overall hours dedicated towards work (grind+study).

Graphs from Sunday and today on PS, I also got a lot of volume in on .es/.fr/.pt too which was cool. Will have to include those sats into the next challenge update which will probably be tomorrow if I have time to do it

If I end up unhappy with the effort I put in Wed-Sun, I might have to come up with some freerolls. GLA on the tables

Sick graphs as always!

That girl spanish (the one talking about the cut finger) is very bad lol, is she a native speaker?

Glad to see you speak it tho, I find it so disrespectful of many foreigners that move to LA and give 0 ****s about learning the local language.
06-05-2018 , 01:26 PM
Haha will make a full response later with updated graphs (grinding now) but yea, she is born and raised in Mexico and never been to US or anything like that.

The way she writes is very very typical of many people here, people are not well educated down here at all. My ex Lupita is even worse (by a lot), I straight up had no idea what she was writing at times when I first met her.

Guys are worse by a lot on avg. Even my mechanic Nick, who was born in Sinaloa but moved to the US when he was 5 and lived there until 3 years ago, can't write for **** in Spanish; worse than his GF does and you can see her writing there above .

What's even funnier though is that he sometimes can't understand what these guys up in his neighborhood are saying. This dude that everyone calls 'Poncho' stops by a lot and he'll say something and I'll look at Nick and say 'the **** did he just say, I didn't understand any of that' and Nicks like 'no clue dawg, its Poncho, ya sabesss' lulz

Obv is pretty sad when you think about it, most people just get a super basic education here and sometimes even less than that.

Agreed at the last part too, its amazing how many of the poker players never learned any Spanish while living down here and couldn't do more than put a food order in and sometimes even struggled with that.

Heyo, going to post the interaction from earlier today in xpastor's pgc

So this took place in this thread today. Didn't want to further derail xpastor's thread, made this first response while like 20 tabling 2-6handed games

To respond to other parts
1. It depends on when exactly you're talking about pre BF. I have a cpl buddies that absolutely CLEANED UP SNGs back in the day, so I might have stuck with them. There were multiple great things to grind
-hyper sats actually had no rake on them when they were first created. So nobody really grinded them. I think poker_in_pb was the first guy to grind them and he made a ****ton of money while just INF tabling and just completely autopiloting. I think jorj95 was the next 'real reg' to join the games
-ftp sngs were ****ing gold. everything was great over there. 6m turbos and when they were created, the 6m super turbos were awesome
-same with just like 6max sngs in general as 9man reg speed and 9man turbo were the popular format that most regs played
-sngs on the smaller sites were just free money. i know guys who made a killing on even the super timbey rooms like Merge, adding in the few games that ran on there before most people even knew it was a poker network lolz (with BF being when a ton of Americans went flocking to the site)

So yea, it really depends. If you're talking even further back, the $500 SNGs on Party Poker were beatable for like 15% ROI. Since I'm still fairly young (meh, took me a second to write that, I'm 27 and feeling pretty old and I've been around forever in the poker world especially given my age ) I wasn't online grinding back in those 2004-2006 days so it's really difficult for me to be able to visualize what the lobbies looked like and what WRs were capable and what volume was capable etc.

SNE was introduced in 2006 and I think my yearly expectation with how hard I can grind and the fact I could b/e or better pre RB even in the 'toughest' SNE years (2013-2015) would make it such that I would have always been better just SNG grinding. But it's hard to know for sure of course

2. I would probably not necessarily suggest for a player currently playing 100nl to play for a living given the current state of online poker, but I also in general just think with really hard work and dedication, that anything is possible. It also highly depends on where you live, your background, your wants and desires in this world....it's always such a complex question to answer and a difficult subject to give advice on.

I think it was probably even dicey for me to have chosen poker when I did. I wasn't earning that much money before BF and honestly having BF happen was one of the best things for my career as I then found the 6max super turbos on Merge and got really good at them which propelled me into playing STTs and going for SNE+ after relocating in Nov 2011.

3. Tough to answer how much more money I would have made if SNE were still a thing. A lot of guys were losing money pre RB and so the SNE grind was quite brutal for them and not necessarily netting them a lot of $.

But for me, I was beating like 5.5/6 SNE games on avg at the sats for a really nice clip pre RB, even crushing in EV the COOP months when literally >50% of my overall volume would be 6/6 SNE regs. Basically all day long there would be 5regs open sitting and a lot of time there would be too many regs on so basically every game was 6regs, and I still won EV pre RB.

That's clearly not the case at the 6m 25bb cash hypers, I never got really good at them. But I think if I would have played sats from the beginning of 2012 (instead of switching in 2014) and if SNE was still a thing, it's not unreasonable one bit to think that I wouldn't personally have something like $500,000-$750,000 more than I currently do. I think an argument could be made for the number to be even higher, more like 750k-1mil, but I'd rather lowball and write a number I'm super confident in.

Well, that was fun to write while eating dinner . Going to run a few spots and then Shana is arriving for massage. I guess I'll study some 25bb and 25bb SKO stuff now so I can jump in and grind after my massage and then do a 6m/16m sat study sesh along with studying whatever hands I mark from this 25b/25bb sko session

So this took place in this thread today. Didn't want to further derail xpastor's thread, made this first response while like 20 tabling 2-6handed games

Prob ~ the lowest volume I've put in throughout a Mon-Sat since summer 2017. It's okay though, NBA + NHL finals were on and I watched those games with some buddies and also got a lot of studying in.

Hoping to get a fair amount of volume in this coming week but not sure, have some IRL stuff going on including Wednesday when I have my initial appointment with a vein specialist at Hospital Angeles in TJ.

Will be quickly falling behind 300k game pace with all the 25bb and 25bbsko grinding I'm doing. That's fine though as I think the expectation is higher to skip the early sat/mtt stuff and stay awake later and play 25bb/25bbsko to finish off the day. As long as I keep working hard on and off the tables and my EV stays strong everywhere, I don't mind .

Today for example went
8+ hr sat/mtt sesh > study 25bb and sko > grind 25bb and sko > study 25bb and sko > study 6m/16m sat > about to go to bed

10 hours of poker and I've run something like 300 sims today, def can't be unhappy if nearly all my days are this productive, as they've been most of this week (but mostly studying and little volume before today)

Hoping to wake up in time for the kickoff but we'll see what time I get to sleep and how I feel in the morning. Gla on the tables!
