Hi two plus two,
I'm 28yo poker player from Europe, my main stake is 500nl. I've been quite lazy lately, so I decided to start a journal to keep myself motivated/accountable.
As said, I mainly play 500, but one of my goal for the rest of the year is to start playing more 200, because often if there's few good tables at 500, I just don't bother playing and end up wasting a bunch of time.

My main goal till the end of the year is to lock myself in and grind a lot to save up more money because I want to move to Malta in the next 6/7months. I have some irl stuff going on this month, so I won't grinding this month too much and do a bit more studying, as I feel quite rusty (only played around 60k hands of cash games this year).

My weekly goals till the end of the year (starting next month):
* minimum 7.5k hands a week
* update journal weekly with results

Results so far this year

I'm done with irl stuff mentioned before and already began playing this Wednesday. Played around 6.3k hands which didn't met my weekly goal, but I'm okay with that given I didn't played whole week. Played few MTT's yesterday and got 14th in 500$ bounty tournament for around 6k$, lost 99<A8o preflop all-in BVB for around 20bb's which left me w few big blind after the hand. These 40bb chips at that point of the tournament worth probably something like 15k$ in ev. Tournaments are rough... :// But really, really fun when you get deep and very boring at the start of it.

It's time for weekly graph.

From now on I'll be updating on Mondays, gl at the tables

Played a short cash games session before mtt's grind. Didn't played very well, but managed to run really hot

Now it's time to review sess and prepare for MTT session.

Had my biggest winning stretch this week, cash and mtt's combined I won close to 30k (14k-cash, 15-16k MTT's). I'm very lucky that I've won so much, esp because I'm far from MTT's specialist. Cash games also went really well, I've played fair amount of 1k's, fair amount of shorthanded action w some really tough opponents and got pretty lucky to win that much. I don't think it's pure luck tho but who knows

It's 7am atm, I have been playing all night. Plan for today is to study till the evening so I can fix my sleeping schedule to a more reasonable time and start grinding again on Tuesday.

Got a bit carried away last week, wasn't playing well or 'taking it seriously'. I think there's multiple reasons for it, but the main ones are confidence and lack of short term goals to keep me focused/motivated. Some time last week I was few tabling with some great regs shorthanded and deep down I just knew that I will murder them at that time, I was in the zone feeling actual, non faked confidence and for the rest of the week I was trying to reproduce that feeling w/o much success, which lead to me forcing plays that I'm not capable of pulling of in the state that I was in. As of know I will be updating my goals weekly, so here it goes.

Goals for this week:
* Get in to the habit of marking hands while playing
* More focus on studying/drilling
* As this week will be more about studying, I will not set myself a goal of playing x amount of hands

Goal till the end of the month:
* Become the best player at 1k nl
