I am 29 years old living in Houston. I am currently unemployed for two month due to low oil price and layoff. I was working as an accountant before. I am not an US citizen, so getting a job that sponsor is hard. My wife is still working, so I am staying at home. I also just my son 5 month ago lol. It is not the best of timing. My mom is visiting and helping taking care of the baby.

I have been playing poker for 10 years. I never played seriously. I tried many different formats. I am decent in husng, mtt and cash 6max (shorstack lol flame away). I deposited $50 yesterday and have been grinding $5 husng last night and this morning.

I still need to pass my CPA since I have been goofing around. I am planing to study 5-6 hours in the morning for CPA and then in the afternoon grind husng for now. Once I have enough br I will be mixing with mtt and cash 6 max.

I will be using 10 bis rule for husng since I feel it is super soft in the micro and will use 15 bis rule once I hit low stake ($20).I will use 50 bis rule for mtt. I will only be playing cash game once I have enough br for nl100 since the rake is high. I will also be twitching while I play. I still need to set it up.

I went out with family to Galverston (Moody Garden) today and it was fun. While I was on the boat ride, I grinded some nl5 zone poker and was up some. I got home around 8pm and started grinding around 9pm. I played $5 husng and nl10 shortstack ( the 2 tabling husng was not enough action lol). Everything is going well.

After that, I decided to play some $10 husng. I won 4 games in a row. I think I have a better edge in those. For future plan, 2 tabling $10 husng and 2 tabling cash game shortstack n25. I cut all snacks and decided to eating fruits. I also running 2ish miles in the morning and at night. My current weight is 174 and my goal is to drop it down to 155.

played most zone poker nl25 and little husng $10 because studying cpa. Ran like really bad in zone poker lol. down 180ish. ev down about 100 lol. Maybe I am just bad at cash. I am playing $5 husng after study and zone nl5 zone during studying break. I need to setup tabletamer or stack and tile so I can add 2 tables of cash game while playing jusng. Wish me luck.

Anyone know how to post hh from hm2 once it has been converted using bovada hand converter? I am problem converting them. When I try to covert, error message of wrong format or something pops up. I have few hands for review.

Quick update

I played well last month, but variance hit me right in the ass near the end of the month. Br dropped down to below 100 at one point. I had to move down. Currently I am shortstacking n10 and nl5 and occasionally playing some nl5 zone poker

I am studying for the next part of CPA so wish me luck. I am planning to sit for it next week. In addition, I got a job offer in Dallas as an internal auditor. I accepted the offer and will move there to work and commute back to Houston during weekend to see my wife and baby.

I moved up to nl25 two days ago after reaching br of 150. Things did not work out well. I ran really bad and wiped out my winning in one day. I am back down to nl10 and nl5 to rebuild. Below is the graph for this month.

Hope I run better this month. I also find cash games are not as juicy as before bovada becomes ignition. The money is at mtt, once my roll reaches 1000. i will start playing mtt with cash games if i have the time. i am planning to do 100 bi rules for mtt. I think short-stacking cash helped me a lot for mtt. I am finally moved up to nl50 and nl25. Below is the move up graph for the stake.

The best quick tip I can give is don't get caught up in moving up in stakes too quickly. Make sure you are very, very comfortable at your current stakes before even considering moving up. And don't hesitate to drop back down in stakes for pretty much any reason you feel might be necessary.

lost it all or still going?

I am still playing. I am just too lazy to update. I am playing mainly Global Poker now. The bankroll was a roller-coaster due to variance and shot taking, but now I am more conservative. My global poker balance dropped to 200ish while full stacking. It is due to few 300bb pots (set < fd) at nl100 and getting drawn out by fish. I am average at full stack, so I decided to go back to shortstack (30bb and leave after >50bb). I grinded from 200ish to 1.4kish in a week mainly from run good. After that I took a shot at nl200 mixing with nl100 and had a peak of 1700ish when the variance hit again. I lost 500 in 2 nights. After that I dropped to play nl100 and nl50 and now the br stands at:

global poker :1800ish
ignition: 900ish

I will move up to nl200 still mixing nl100 once my br hit 2400. The game at Global is still super easy. I will try to learn and play full stack better and end the challenge once the br hit 10k.

The job is super boring but the pay is good so life goes on. I am also studying CPA exam 2 hours a day, so there is not a lot of time to play. I am seriously thinking of my life and the direction I want to take. I know that accounting is not my passion, but I got figure out what I love to do and can make money.
