Two years ago I was a successful mid stakes pro with three consecutive low six figure years. Making this money in eastern Europe while in my early twenties made me believe I can do anything.

At some point I was getting bored with the daily grind. I had an interesting idea for a startup and being an arrogant little boy decided to invest all my time and money in it.

I don't want to go into details of the events that followed, but you can imagine without any experience in the relevant fields (coding/design/marketing/SEO+SMM/ etc) what happened... now two years later I am broke. I owe more than $20k to friends and family and have only $1150 to my name.

With all the money I have left I will try to get back into poker. Starting from 50NL will try to use strict bankroll management and try to move up the stakes. The games must have changed a lot for the past two years and will need to do a lot of work. I will put small goals to have a quantifiable way of measuring my progress.

Next 30 days.

50,000 hands
follow strict 50buy-in BRM
daily blog updates for motivation

Day1,

Played a lot and made many mistakes. The skill level is above what I expected but it is definitely beatable with a good winrate. I need to get subscription to a site with poker videos just to refresh my memory with the basics, and when I earn some money shuold buy a new laptop and HEM2. From what I saw it is a big stop from HEM1.

I play in iPoker under a new nickname, but I will go back to my stars account soon, just need to grind some good rb for now. There are Euro/USD/GBP tables and that is the reason for the big spikes up and down in the graph.

tough times. I'm actually stuck quite a bit in loans myself, although my situation isn't as bad as yours. Best of luck man

Day3,

Played a bit less and spent few hours analyzing some of my hands. There are some major flaws in my game and some adjustments I need to make. When i stopped playing I was playing 200 and 400 where people have wider ranges and on lower limits people are tighter, especially postflop so I need to stop barreling, 4/5bet bluffing and etc..

12bi below ev is not much of a big deal, but when u play with 18bi its depressing me So far I am breakeven including RB. I must say that the fault is mostly mine even with the bad run. There are many bad players from which to extract value, but I feel really rusty and keep making mistake after mistake.

Not sure how to embed videos, but here is a good motivational video. Everytime I feel down it reminds me to keep moving forward.

Maybe it would help you get back into the swing of things if you played a little lower for awhile. 25 or even 10nl

It's much less stressful when one buy in didn't represent such a large portion of your bankroll.

Good luck
