agree with josh however it seems like some people can't really help themselves so it's possible op just has that type of personality for it. i don't even do so much as slam my fist down after a rough beat but i know friends who have literally ripped off their bedroom door from their hinges. and a bunch of players seem to have an issue with smashing their mouse or keyboard for some reason. people with bad emotional control can definitely work on it and improve, but for sure some people just struggle a lot more with this type of stuff than others.

You know, different strokes for different folks. Stories of people like you and Marty who clear off six figures of makeup and become bosses are few and far between. I could probably name twenty people who build up a ton and either quit or become withered for every one I know (basically you and Marty).

Some would say the backer and the horse that build up 100k+ should both have done more worrying. I personally never get depressed from poker or rage and smash anything. Worst will be some cuss words. Still have a healthy personal life as well. I just get upset and mope sometimes when I lose 20k! I multiply the losses over a year and always come up with a gross result

Just think it's shortsighted to expect everyone to be as even keel as you considering people have committed suicide due to this game and stuff like the stock market, which is the other extreme I guess.

Yep, and " different strokes for different folks" makes sense but for everyone I would always recommend going through the EPTPE by Tommy Angelo over on DC.
One of the coolest and calming series of vids (well mp3's really) and probably worth replaying once a year whether you need it or not.

I'm kind of out of video ideas for a bit with DC so I'll do a free HH review of a deep MTT run for the first person that PMs me. It will go into a training video. I want someone who is either well known on 2+2 or has been a longtime poster on the DC forums or someone that I play with regularly (like I would recognize your SN) for viewership sex appeal. You don't have to be great and I'm not going to review someone that I think is really good already.

I'd suggest the WHG but i'm unsure if you're obligated to cater for lower stakes than that. In anycase it seems you'll have plenty of HH's to look at.

Great ideas guys when I move to Toronto maybe I'll try to get some poker friends on call for a series of that type. Maybe hit up some guys from BBZStaking and see if they wanna do that.

Got 3rd in the 54 KO today and currently 5/7 in the 109r. Also made a deep run in the Big 22. Feeling really great about poker.. this'll now be 4 winning days in a row without any huge scores. Have also lowered game selection requirements

They haven't made one in a while but i've found it very interesting when they have done.

tournaments are a pretty soul-crushing way to make a living at least from what i've observed among my friends who play them FT.

i also have a lot of trouble handling mtt variance. i can lose a $4k cash game pot and maybe i'll roll my eyes a bit but when i bust a $200 sunday mtt i feel like i'm on crazy tilt and i'll dwell on my bustout hand for a while even if it was a total cooler and i won't remember any cash game pots i lost that day that were for similar amounts of money/equity. no idea why that is as i've played tons of SnGs and plenty of MTTs but w/e.

Yeah didn't edit SBGstyle because I think his play is ok. 56s runs decent equity hot and cold vs tighter ranges (it's kind of indifferent to what opponent's range is). It's not the best but it's understandable.

I was actually deep in a WSOP $1500 next to ElRupert and I did a similar play with either 56s or 67s. But the 3baller was a scumbag live Asian grinder who pretended to live misclick and actually had AA. Guess the moral of the story might be don't 4b rip low suited connectors vs bladed ranges lol

Just shipped the 55r for the 2nd day in a row today, think that's the first time I've ever done that. Ft'ed the 109r losing 3 flips to Civell, got 3rd in the 55 KO, and this ship. Feel pretty good going into the weekend

Just wrapped the day up with a 3rd place in the $82 4max progressive KO. Ran pretty salty vs a fish but my payout was close enough to 1st place.

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday have all been winning sessions with multiple final tables in each. No huge scores to note but still up around 10k despite not game selecting. I've played two 215 turbos each day, the 320 6 max today, and a lot of higher stakes SNG's and MTTs.. Going to keep pushing it while the fields are good, I expect everything to get real tough around SCOOP.

Had a really fun chat session with the sicko who is mentoring me and helping me out. Saw some of the creative plays he was making and tried to implement them into my own game. It worked out!

Had a rough day today. Was down near 4k then saved the day at the end with a 2nd in the 82 4max for 1788. Still didn't get me to profitable but it helped stop the bleeding a bit.

I'm game selecting less because I don't think the regs are very good. Notice I'm in for around $4000-5000 in buyins in a regular weekday, so things can get pretty ugly in a hurry if I don't win some bowlcomps. Ideally I would rollpad with some more major wins but the bigger tournaments require way more luck as well.

Started the day with a 13 in the 109T, also ended up 18th in a 44T today. Didn't feel like I played my best game, probably a C+ game overall or something. Have to focus more and turn off chat. A lot of what led to me losing was playing too many tables and lack of focus. I definitely shouldn't be easing up just because I think I'm winning now. Was talking with M1ghtyducks, Aaralynn, Sirswish, and Le Blem from the BBZ crew. Really have a lot of love for those guys and it brought back old memories of our group chat.

Biggest losses for the week are from the 215 turbos which have great rake but are pretty high variance and not always the softest. Guess I'll have to cut those first if I'm having issues.

Lot of respect for you and for your game. Tournaments, by nature, are high variance in a multitude of ways. You can play well all around and you can suffer protracted periods where you best run-good happens in lower stake weekday tournies and you go busto for consecutive sundays. You just have to ride it out and keep on your A-game as much as possible and you'll be okay. I see a sunday million win in your future best of luck and will be in touch.

Glad you are finally on some sort of a mini "heater". Hopefully more to come! I tend to agree that playing too many tables will sort of make you think like a robot. I just played a live event recently and it totally made me realize why I started playing poker and why I enjoy playing poker.

Do you remember how I said I was going to quit poker after this mini WSOP this summer? Well it kind of changed for me because I started falling in love with the game of poker again. I love the psychology aspect of it. I love how it makes me think and how creative I can get with poker.......but I definitely still hate the cocky local poker players environment though.

Obviously my story is a little less relevant to you since you play full time and I just play it as a hobby but I think it's good for you to take a step back and to realize what poker means to you whether it be financially or emotionally.
