Re: Ice Cold YugiohPro 2015: SNE + Yearly TLB for Me to Be?

Yeah lissi's right.. I rarely post bad beat stories and I think it's really counterproductive to moan over early or even middle stages. The only bad beats I would ever consider posting would be huge prize pools with final 3 tables or later.

Do think your advice came from a good place though so much appreciated esp for everyone else reading as well. I just think these hands are genuinely funny

Re: Ice Cold YugiohPro 2015: SNE + Yearly TLB for Me to Be?

Made my first mistake of the day in one of the biggest prize pools. Think it's easy to get sidetracked by the pot odds here (this is a really good spot if he's ever light or doing this with AQ or anything).

Specifically here I don't think he's a regular and the stack size + sizing make it pretty clear he always has an overpair here to 66. I don't think these types of players do this with AKo for example.

I'm good tier right now but I'll never be gosu omega if I can't just make the laydown here

U consider shoving pre with 66 bad , and min raise call better ? What range u realy min raise with 12BBS EP ?

Of course never ever finding a fold with that stack.

Re: Ice Cold YugiohPro 2015: SNE + Yearly TLB for Me to Be?

Yeah it depends.

I'm definitely in a really nasty stretch variance wise. Sundays have gone poorly, probably stuck 12k+ over the past two of them. Losing a lot of high equity spots and not really recouping them.

Took two 4 figure+ beats (JJ<99+ATs in the $215T with 13 left and AJs<QJo at the final table of a $215 re-entry satellite) within the span of seconds today. It's gonna be hard but I still plan on playing through the Wednesday $320 today.

Re: Ice Cold YugiohPro 2015: SNE + Yearly TLB for Me to Be?

Thanks guys. Updating just to moan but I'll have something more substantive later.

Just got 10th 44T, 12th in 13.50 KO, and 15th in 109R in the span of maybe 15m.. lately every time I want to power grind all the way to the Wednesday 320 the fates conspire to demoralize me. Will probably fire all the way through anyways!

Put up a SCOOP-H package I'm pretty pumped for SCOOP 2015.

Re: Ice Cold YugiohPro 2015: SNE + Yearly TLB for Me to Be?

Hey Jae,

I've been following your thread for a while and I had a couple of questions about you grind etc. None of this is meant negatively, and I am just looking for some insight from someone I've looked up to for a while.

I'm a backed low stakes mtt reg. My backers are great to deal with, they've both been backed for mtts and won a decent clip playing them. It's pretty clear that they never want me to really worry about mu, and just want me to focus on my game; which is a load off when I know its very standard for me to swing 4 figures at my stakes.

You, also a backed player, seem to constantly talk about your MU and how much you have lost/how bad you've run in a session.

While it's great to vent every now and again: Is this approach not totally flawed? Shouldn't being backed just allow you to fire absolutely everything you have an edge in without having to worry about the MU that you're running up?

It feels like the advantage of financial stability that one may gain from being backed is lost on you?

Secondly, i notice you are regularly selling action to the highest buy-in's that you play. I can obviously understand this if you were on your own roll, but what are the benefits of selling pieces that are technically already sold?

I get that it reduces the variance, but again shouldnt this already have been achieved by being staked and being coached on the reg by great minds?

Again shouldn't you have a bink or die trying attitude, rather than constantly having variance and MU on your mind?

Best of luck in SCOOOOOOOP, I hope u get the lot

Re: Ice Cold YugiohPro 2015: SNE + Yearly TLB for Me to Be?

Yeah great points. Think I completely agree with you. Honestly I think it's just a leak in how I deal with things for sure. I haven't been staked much so I just get concerned being in a huge hole will affect me mentally. I used to always argue with Frenzuh over who had the prettier graph.

Even when staked I've always been able to get out by binking a daily major and I think it's depressing being in so deep that even a Sunday win or something won't get you out.

Just got 4th in the $215 Turbo to match a 9th in the $109 1R1A. Going to fire up the Wednesday $320 too!

Re: Ice Cold YugiohPro 2015: SNE + Yearly TLB for Me to Be?

I've never been staked before but I'm sure I'd handle it worse than most guys. Sure I could play higher without fear of busting the BR, but I'm still losing. I hate losing. And not only that, I'm losing my own money.

Perhaps at the time it doesn't feel like my money, but ultimately it is unless I plan on rolling the staker. I wouldn't trust the horses who just see the MU figure as a # and aren't somewhat emotionally affected by it.

P.S. Actually, I have been staked before. Once. A few years back I sold action in my $60 turbos to a group of friends and proceeded to get crushed in a tiny sample. Felt terrible about the whole thing, so much so that I ended the stake early out of fear that I'd lose all of their money. Believe it or not, it felt worse losing their money than losing my own.

Re: Ice Cold YugiohPro 2015: SNE + Yearly TLB for Me to Be?

I mean realistically I am being a total bankroll nit. I've made my backers lots of money and the most MU I've ever been stuck over two staking deals is something like 25k. Once I feel like I have soaked up most of the knowledge that my coaches are spitting though, I'll be a lot more comfortable just firing everything and being happy about it.

So about today. I've been having a lot of problems this year with Pokerstars having a glitch where tournaments I late register often don't pop up. So I'm using an AHK script table counter and constantly pressing Ctrl+R to make sure every late reg tournament popped.

Unfortunately today I got an even nastier glitch. Basically three of my tables just disconnected midway through the game, without me sitting out, just frozen in air with the "next to act" indicator on me. There's no way to know that these tables are disconnected because they still show up on the table counter and they're in the stack. I was kind of cracked out after a long session so I didn't confirm them until it was too late and I was already busto in them. Plus, why would I even have to confirm them if I've never had the problem before?

Maybe part of it is because I'm accessing Stars from Korea. Can't wait to get to Canada soon. But the software just has so many glitches that lead to people losing money. Stars has been top class about refunding me but it's still really frustrating. Maybe instead of focusing on Stars 7's whizbang features they should have just focused on making Stars 6 as stable as possible.

Got 9th in the $109 Turbo Cubed and 4th in the $215 Turbo today but lost money. Also got the 10th in the 44T, 12th in a big 13.50 KO, 18th in the 11C, and 20th in an 82 hyper. CEV bb/100 was really good today, been working on a lot of things with my coaches and feel really good about playing when my software isn't glitching and buttplugging me. Feel like I'm just objectively running very below expectation for the past few weeks but I'm not having any problems with it. Just focusing on getting better.

Ok I have teased this a few times and not gotten into it but it's for realsies this time.

Looking for some motivated players to do a project on DC with. Hoping to launch within a week or two. If you can multi-table, use a HUD, and are playing low to midstakes MTTSNG's and MTT's, I'm your man. But you have to love the game and crave it. Just send me a PM.

Re: Ice Cold YugiohPro 2015: SNE + Yearly TLB for Me to Be?

Yeah i'm going to write a long post about that and probably start a thread on 2+2. Stars has this disgusting glitch where late reg tables sometimes don't pop up. I'm sure a lot of regs have lost a ton of money, it must have to do with latency or something.

That's actually sick how you tried to warn me. Really appreciate that I try to do that for everyone too. Think I'm going to change my chat refresh settings to show chat instead of info. Thanks a lot man

Re: Ice Cold YugiohPro 2015: SNE + Yearly TLB for Me to Be?

currently 4/4 in the Speedway (never final tabled it) and 5/5 in the Hot 44! Huge downswing in midstakes $30-55 turbos so it feels good.

Also shipped a bunch of satellites today and I'm just so horny for SCOOP I don't know what to do with myself.

I want to focus on mistake free powerhouse poker so I think I will put up a freeroll starting tomorrow. Details to come as soon as I'm done with these.

+1. Seems like negative freeroll. Win and you've figuratively ripped up money. Lose and youve still essentially lost that money but now how twice the pressure to win it back.

Also less scummy going on benders while on DS.

Sent from on my way to HK.

Re: Ice Cold YugiohPro 2015: SNE + Yearly TLB for Me to Be?

Had a really productive talk with a poker mentor a few days ago and he gave me some great advice. Throughout SCOOP I'm going to lower table count, forget about yearly and SNE, and try to focus on just becoming a better poker player overall.

So to motivate myself here is a freeroll.

- Every day I play I will post HH's without any commentary.
- First person who posts what the mistake is and why will get $10
- Each additional HH after that will go up by $5 (so 15, 20, 25, 30, etc)
- One claim per person every 3 days or something
- Will reset each day

At the end of each day I'm going to send a lump sum to the biggest winner to then send out to the winners below him. To take this free money, you agree to send out if you are the biggest winner

These are mistakes that come from a lack of focus or thought. Stuff where I'm capable of making the right play. FWIW I usually make 5+ mistakes a day

Had way too much going on so wasn't able to remember too many hands. Got second in the turbo multi hundo for 7.5k and cashed both scoop 2ks. Definitely ran above expectation in both.

The gross thing is I was in for so much on stars (like 13k total or something insane) I don't even know if I made money on Sunday.

Re: Ice Cold YugiohPro 2015: SNE + Yearly TLB for Me to Be?

Yeah so I guess I'll post the sob story and then post an update on my year. To preface, I feel really good about my situation today and I feel really good about poker in general (which we'll get to in the post below this). So sob story:

Came back to day 2 of the IPOPS Main 300k 2nd in chips out of 100 odd left. 55k euro to first so pretty huge tournament. I don't recall all the details of the Sunday grind but I'm pretty sure I ran insanely hot to accumulate, probably won a ton of flips etc.

So I continue running insanely hot and at one point I think i have something like 80-90bb with 27 left. I actually ended up losing it all in like 5 orbits or something to some heinous runouts.
