Whilst looking for apartments, they asked me if I had a job and I replied "Yeah.. I have income.." I didn't realise it until a second after I said it that I sounded like I was a drug dealer/triad member or something lol.
Priceless- Imagine if he saw you coming home from a casino one day with brick of cash in hand(obv not going to be carrying it out in the open but would be funny and could lead to interesting conversations)
Pathetic attempt of quoting

Hahaha, yeah was pretty absent minded of me to put it that way.

Apartment searching has been hectic and very difficult to find a suitable one within the price range. I'm going to be heading to Ldn again from Monday till probably Thursday to search again.
This, of course, means more liveament play and if any interesting hands come up, I'll be sure to post them.
But it also means that I'm not going to be able to grind online until September so I'll post my month's graph now.
Results:
Garf in $
Stakes of 200NL->1kNL
Garf in big blinds
It seems to look better when I put it in BB...
I think I'm running bad at 600NL but
I'm pretty happy with results even though it's not hit 5 figures because I feel like my mental game and work ethic has improved over the month [details below]
It's also my first full month of playing only MSNL and having a winning month.
Getting much more used to the swongs at MSNL and thinking a lot more about decisions.
I used an absurd amount of game selection towards the start of the month but have now begun trying to play the tougher 2/4 games now and only game selecting a lot at 3/6.
Mental Game:
Two things regarding that I realised that was detrimental to my game:
1) I used to play until I rostucko'd a losing session a lot.
The effects of this are that I will subconsciously set my "goal" as breaking even for a session
- It means I will play a monster losing session until I rostucko.
- I won't have a clear mind and fixate on the current/future hands because I'm constantly checking HEM/the cashier.
- I will very likely end up stopwinning when I'm playing my A game.
2) I set myself monetary goals.
When I don't achieve such goals it will also affect my mindset
- It will feel like I'm failing to achieve something that was meant to be easy [but of course, you can't control variance]
- When you feel like you're failing, your work ethic is affected, you won't want to grind for long periods and will feel the need to "book a win".
- You're constantly self-doubting your abilities.
- You may start playing less once you reach your goal because you don't want to go below it
[A similar thing happened this month, I set myself a 5figure goal which I reached. When I went below it again, it tilted me that I couldn't reach it]
Once I realised that these were affecting my mindset, I adjusted by forcefully telling myself that the $ amount isn't a goal.
Although it seems like it's only temporary, it's part of building my "mental muscle" and making that thought process stick.
Without that extra baggage, I feel like I'm thinking more clearly about hands now.
Goals for September:
- 50k hands. I'm only playing up to 6 tables usually so it'll be 125-160 hours (which is a lot considering I'm moving out next month)
- Move out, and get settled in. If my room-mate agrees, I'll post up photos of the new pad.
- Sign up to a gym to get prepared for October.
I'll leave you guys with my favourite hand that was played recently:
That is all, gl! Look forward to hearing more apart your apartment search, how much detail of your income do people actually want? I always thought a bank statement showing that you can easily afford the place would be enough.

Chinos are awesome
They don't need to know anything about my income if I'm able to pay 6months in advance, and yeah, they just look at my 3months worth of bank statements. Otherwise, I think they ask for a whole load of stuff about my salary (which obv, I can't provide)
Will keep updated about apartment.

Will be interesting to see how people react to you having the money upfront and a good income unless you're cashing out regular amounts and then it just looks like a well paid job?
UTG checks, Hero bets £250 and is all in. UTG tank-calls.
Hero shows A K
Villain shows T 2
Tarpped. Villain wins £713 pot.
Not tilted about the hand, kinda lol'd about it when he showed. Was kinda confused why he tank-called but yeah...
I think we're probably going to be heading back home today. Rescheduling apartment viewings for next week.
Gonna try to put in some volume in the meantime online.
Ended up staying another night in Ldn cause we found a couple more places to view today.
Day 2 of grinding also ended a bit meh. Was -£200 at the tables, AA < QJ in a 4bet pot on 89xr.
On the plus side, I met up with a 2p2-er during the past couple days (he didn't post in this thread I don't think), but yeah, was cool to meet up with someone and had a drink together. Unfortunately, didn't get to hang out too long cause of my tight schedule but once I move Ldn hopefully we'll chill together more or something.

Interesting conversation came up whilst I was grinding the live tables.
I was wearing some electric-blue coloured thick-rimmed glasses (just the frames, no lenses) whilst at the table. Some presumeably French guy also at my table says to me as I open AQ from MP, "I like your glasses.. How much are they worth? A couple of quid? How about if I win this hand, you give me them? If I lose I give you £5?"
At first I was like.. "lolwat" but agreed anyway. So he calls from the SB and c/f a flop. And he, sure enough chucks me a £5 chip from his stack. I smiled to myself at one of the weirder things that has been said to me at a poker table.... Haha.

Last day in Ldn today, got two apartments to look at, they seem reasonably priced. Let's just hope the apartment is up to standard.
you forgot the hand where you vbet AQ on 5692Q or something and got called by 58 for a £350 pot :/
Ah yeah.
Here's the HH for anyone that wants to read:
Spoiler:
UTG: £x
UTG+1: £350+
MP1: £250~
Hero (MP2): £350
Hero is dealt A Q
UTG+1 opens to £10, MP1 calls £10, Hero raises to £40, folds round to MP1, MP1 calls £30
Pot: £93
Flop: 3 4 6
MP1 checks, Hero bets £40, MP calls £40
Pot: £173
Turn: 3 4 6 5
MP1 checks, Hero checks
Pot: £173
Flop: 3 4 6 5 Q
MP1 checks, Hero bets £75, MP1 snap-calls 5 8
Hero wins £323 pot
Btw, Drshoe is the 2p2-er I met in Ldn if you haven't gathered. Would definitely be up for meeting more people.
------------
Looked at 2 apartments today whilst in London.
The first one looked like absolute ****. It went for £350 per week...
- The carpet had stains on it
- The kitchen was completely greasy
- There were dirty dishes in the sink
- The couch looked sickening
- The wall-paint was peeling
- They had a shisha bong thing in the living room.......
The apartment was obviously not well kept after at all, and this guy was trying to let it to us for £350 a week? Like srsly......
We snap/folded that one.
The second one was much better. I won't describe it, but hopefully I can put up pics once we've moved in. We've put in an offer to the landlord and just hoping he accepts it.
Came back from London earlier than expected, so going to continue with the grind in September.
Once again, good luck to all you guys grinding in September!
September thus far. That little straight bit @3.8k hands is when I played HU vs another 2p2-er at 10NL for fun.
Running hot but playing very well too methinks [14bb/100 at 400nl this month ]
About to head off to London again tomorrow, so will have to disappear from the grind for a lil while. Hopefully will run good in the apartment search though.
Apartment
Back home now after searching for apartments. We've finally found a place! #yay
I've obviously not put in much of a grind, but here are some photos of the new apartment.
Moving there in October.
I really like the area that the apartment is in too. The best part is that we got this quite a bit below the asking price by like £50 p/week.
Spoiler:
Front of the apartment
Dining area/Kitchen
Living area
Master bedroom
Second bedroom
Grind:
I realised, I don't really have a proper goal for this thread besides getting to HSNL so how about I say I try to reach $100k bankroll (after withdrawals to pay for expenses) by June 2012?
I'll increase this if I reach it early.
Current profit for the month is on $4k, bankroll is on $24k.
