Tonight I lost 200 wasn’t feeling like rebuying going to get some rest. Table was really good ended up losing my stack when I shoved AK on the turn I had two pair on a 2heart board guy called with JJ spiked a J on the river lol. Goodnight everyone.

How’s it going everyone Live poker today. Took the day off to do some Doordash. Great way for me to utilize my time and make some money if I’m not playing poker. Made 170$ in 7hrs of work. Going to play some 25nl poker online from 9pm-3am focusing on my play and to just enjoy myself. Will be back to live poker Wednesday Night. Goodnight

Was running pretty awful today so decided to just call it at -200. My AJ on a AJ6 Guy has 66. My AQ all in preflop for 70$ Guy has QTss hits a flush. Last hand was all in with 99 with my last 75$ big blind wakes up with TT. I could keep playing but I think it’s best I leave and play tomorrow so that’s what I did

My mom surprised me with a little vacation. So kinda bad timing but it’s Ok so have to put this on pause again for a week. Will be back in 7-10days

Why aren't you topping up as opposed to letting your stack get that low, you don't keep extra chips in your pocket?

My bankroll is quite low so I had a stop loss of 200 which isn’t smart.

My bankroll is below 2k and I feel a little uneasy. If I have to be honest I think I need to take a break and make money doing doordash until I have 4K in my life roll. I just don’t feel comfortable having such a short roll. BRM is really trying to be my main focus. And I think it’s time that I sacrifice like a Month to grind and make $$$ in other areas of life so I can be able to have an “actual shot” of making it.

I can keep living this lifestyle of living in my car which isn’t a problem. But the lifestyle of having 1200 to your name playing poker for 200 isn’t ideal to me anymore. Maybe I matured a little but I think it’s time to grow up and realize I need at least 20buyins for my own good.

Basically I have 1200$ in my life roll with expenses of about 300$ a month. I will update this thread on the journey to get to 4K. I see other people playing on a short roll like I did and I know how uneasy a normal variance spot can feel. I need to do this and it’s time to make 4,000$.

Doordash is what I’m best at in terms of making money other than poker. So that seems to be what I’m going to do. Work doordash until I have 4K then actually go back to the casino and feel less stressed. I really want this life. I want to make a living playing this game so bad. And if I really want it it’s time to be honest with not only you guys, but myself. So let’s do this. Journey to 4K here we come. Talk soon everyone

What I’m also going to do to stay sharp. Is I’m going to play 8hrs a day as well of online poker. I’ll start with 1 table of Reg speed just so I can work on making money and developing reads. I think that I will be able to update you guys on how online is going since I really do enjoy posting. So yeah that’s pretty much it for now. Doordash till I get to 4K and some 25nl reg speed 1 table for 8hrs a day.

So the schedule looks like this.

Doordash: 11AM- 1PM

25nl Poker: 1PM-5PM

Doordash: 5PM-9PM

25nl Poker: 9PM-2AM

This is going to be the schedule that will get me to 4K. It’s what works best for me and I’m sharing it with you guys because I want this all to be a real life story. I want you guys to all follow along on this journey which is my life.

Good luck, don't beat yourself up if you fall short of playing as much as you plan. And if you force yourself to sit down and play when you don't want to, you are going to be forcing yourself to lose more often than not. Been there. I like the idea of playing online as well as live to get more hands in and stay sharp. I think there is a great benefit in playing both online and live.

Make sure you take time for yourself/gf/family/friends too. Otherwise you'll burn yourself out and end up unmotivated and not enjoying the grind anymore. gl

So crunching the numbers and looks like I need 2k to get to my goal and looks like it will take me 40days to complete. I should be able to make $100 a day -$50 for living expenses a day which comes out to $50 a day for 40 days. I decided during this time to not play any sort of poker and it’s because I feel like online poker is a distraction from completing my goal. My main goal is to be properly rolled for 1/2 cash games. I believe it’s time for me to make a big sacrifice, and to me someone who has been playing poker everyday for as long as I can remember, this is definitely going to be a challenge.

1 thing about me is I need to be held accountable to accomplish something like this, so for the next 40 days I’ll be posting how much money I made from doordash daily and how close we are from the goal etc. You guys don’t have to read this thread for the next 40days since it won’t be any poker stuff. But I’m hoping by July 6th I’ll have a nice roll and a good mindset to be set to do great things

Agree. I have an apartment somewhat close to where RUB works/lives, and my expenses are lower than $50/day.

But, I also have a kitchen I can use to cook $1-2 meals. My guess is you eat out every meal RUB?

Hey berry and tigigity yeah I do eat out every day unfortunately. I keep it low to about 20-25$ a day for breakfast and dinner. Gas is about 30$ a day for 10hrs of driving so can’t really get out of that. And 20$ for breakfast and dinner is as good as it gets for me.


For today Day 2 I worked 11am-9pm and made +191 wasn’t expecting to make this much but I’m guessing Memorial Day had something to do with that. But that means I can now add another $100 to the 2k fund

Ever thought about getting some granola bars and fruit for breakfast? A banana or apple is like 50 cents and same with granola bars, $1-2 breakfast depending on how hungry you are.

Or, for $20-25 a day you could rent a room in an apartment and have access to a kitchen. You could cook for less than $5 day and end up having a place to live for almost the same cost as your eating out habit.

Hey thanks for trying to help man I appreciate it. I forsure can spend less on breakfast and dinner, but I just have a pretty good regime going so just going to stick with it. Living in the car isn’t to bad for me at the moment. It keeps cost very low so I can save for a roll to play live cash. Which is when I predict to make enough money to move up the stakes and out of the car.

Something that helped me a lot with poker and finding success was living with someone that is currently being a success player. Maybe you should find someone and try and live with them and possibly get staked by them. I think it would do you a world of good. I understand you have your present path you're on but there are other higher-ev/steeper trajectory ways to accomplish the same goals.

Agreed with paying 20-25 for real apartment and spending minimal $$ on food. I lived off ramen when I was broke, everyone has to pay their dues or else you're going to have a low quality of life for longer than necessary that's suppressed due to poor spending habits preventing you from escaping.
