Have been watching some people do this for a while and keep meaning to do something similar.

I am getting pretty serious about improving my game now as I have had enough of being breakeven/slight winner at the micro stakes. I want to be fairly fluid with regards to the rules ect. as I am not overly concerned about the money, I want to really improve my game and then hopefully the £ will follow.

I aim to update the thread 2/3 times per week, maybe chucking in a video or two every fortnight if any kind souls would fancy telling me what I am doing wrong (or right!) as it would most definitely help! Below is a generic outline to what I aim to achieve and how I aim to do it.

Rules:

• 4 - 6 table max
• 1:00 – 1:30 session lengths max
• Game select, don’t just load up tables
• Label people (regulars – blue, nits – red, fish – pink)

Goals:

• Beat 10NL
• 750$ BR for 25NL
• Beat 25NL
• 1250BR for 50NL
• 50NL by June

Thinks to work on:

• Work on positional play pre-flop
• Work on 3betting spots & how to play post flop
• Work on post flop play, including assigning ranges and analyzing said range vs. board texture.

January goals:

• Play min 15000 hands
• Reach silver-star on pokerstars
• Watch entire series of Road to Robusto NL

I aim to produce weekly graph updates and the occasional interesting hand as the week progresses. I also need to get out of the habit of continuously checking my PT3 graph/cashier during the session, any help on ways to achieve this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for reading and hopefully I will reach my overall taget.

50NL & 1250$ BR by June 2012.

Will post graph later when I get in, however have a couple of hands that I wouldn't mind some input on:

3better was running 33/12/17-3bet. Villain was 25/25, both after 125 hands. The pre-flop call looking back at it seems murky. I am crushed by many of the hands a normal villain would be 3betting but as 3betters range seems wide (small sample I know) I decided to flat. The button was running around 40/7.

When it checks around on a fairly safe flop I presume know one has a high PP as they would have re-raised pre or definitely bet this board. At this point I put MP on some form of PP, never a set as he would need to bet flop to shut out flush draws, especially as the aggressor had already acted and BB on two paint cards. The turn gives me TPGK, MP now bets, which at the time I interpret as trying to take the pot with his under-pair. Looking back I prefer a call to a re-raise. I shoved, looking back I really only represent a Q, any hands calling (barring Axcc) should have me crushed.

This hand villain was again pretty standard 25/23/2 after 200 odd hands. He seemed pretty straightforward, saw him opening light from any position so decided to 3bet 10s for value. Thoughts? Against positionally aware players this is probably suicidal, however at these limits I feel it is OK if used against the right opponent.

I am questioning my turn play. Looking back should I be barreling that turn and then checking back any river? His call indicates some form of PP, two paint cards or small suited connectors. The first and last section smash that board. I checked, intending to call any none paint river. Critique the river call.

      Any thought are appreciated.

Cut a long story short, got to roll of 850$, went to 25NL and became a non-believer. Literally abandoned my game and turned back into a calling station and thus lost 5BI's.

      Goals for Feb:
      • 20K hands at 10NL with a >5ptbb win-rate
      • Rolled for 25NL again
      • Goldstar for first time!

I also have several poker theory elements I want to improve on:
      • work on my 3betting game
      • learn how to deal with loose aggressive fish

I will try to be more active in updating and will post graphs tomorrow.

As you can see I have really been trying to open up my game from late position. I need to really study the blinds however, as I have certainly been burning money by raising ATC vs. calling stations and not being able to take down the pot with aggression later on.

I hope to start to update this thread about once/twice a week as I begin to do session reviews. I will post the brutal 25NL stuff when I have time.

      * Images won't load, even though I have followed everything *

Good luck with this, will keep an eye on it. When u step up to 25nl just try to forget its a higher stake, just keep doing what was working at 10nl and you'll be fine
