no brainer there- go w the trading/quant position. poker is a bridge to where you want to be, for some its a bridge to poker later, this is a networking/professional opportunity. use it. you can always come back to poker

im in a class for my masters in finance currently. and the life ruin only lasts the first few years if you're good at it-like any law/finance firm. suffer thru it, push thru it, get there!

Yes, I've put poker on the back burner. It definitely helped in terms of spending money, and I still do have long term goals for it, but I think it's better done during breaks than the busier parts of term time.

I'm playing the occasional 100pl 6m session and doing a HU challenge:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/17...river-1589150/

So far up 8 games after 44/100 or so.

HU challenge going slowly. I'm finishing up midterms today so should be able to resume. I think he's getting fed up with losing as he hasn't contacted me in almost a week when we're supposed to be playing daily. I've got a few projects I'm working on that I'm happy to spend time on outside of school/poker. I'm also taking boxing to the next level which is very rewarding.
Did some 5/5 nlhe & 2/5 plo that went okay. Got a deal for anytime I play 2/5plo at that game in the future to get $200 rakeback/session which is... very nice. Makes it a much more beatable game.
I'll be doing a trip to Parx/Foxwoods for some 2/5 over spring break. Transferring a max cashout from Bovada to ACR till then. Got sick of anon tables & want to work on my game some with hem2/odds oracle. Sitting a combo of 50,100 6m/hu. No $ or volume goals tbh, just playing when I feel like.
Off to breakfast then taking an astrophysics midterm and then I'm practically free till the end of March with just two psets to do later this week.
I'm happy with the life adjustments I've made.

Had a job interview that went very well, got put into a real position instead of a business internship since they already had a business intern LOL. Provided that the trip to the company's secondary plant later this month goes well, I'll be managing a ~25 person manufacturing plant this summer. Should be very good experience/resume material and tentatively pays $25/hr which is quite nice. I'm not getting too excited about it till I'm signed on, though.

Boxing and poker are going well. Midterms went pretty well. Got to figure out taxes and two problem sets, then I'm basically free for spring break. I've got a bunch of projects I want to put time into so this will be a great opportunity, plus I'll play a little poker.

At 50 games for the HU challenge where I believe I am +8

Thanks, yeah hopefully it pans out.

My finger finally healed so I can go back to speedbagging with certain techniques i'd put on hold which is nice. Fingers take forever to heal.

I'm playing a $600 mtt Saturday and some cash tonight/saturday night. Should be some good opportunities. I've had two cashouts recently, i'm pleased with my progress online. I'm going to add in some mtts after I cash in on a bovada promotion where they're giving away a bunch of $22 tickets as a rakeback promo.

About to be on spring break.. seeing a bunch of lady friends in the next few weeks, life is good.

Another decent win at a 1/2 game, +900. My bankroll is pretty healthy right now, but I'm not stressing over the exact $ value anymore. It really doesn't matter. I'm comfortable to play in the games i'm playing in, I'm not thinking about playing 200 hu soon.

Slept with a girl around noon that I definitely regret, a friend connected us and she was a larger lady. Thinking with the wrong head. Although I've got a very promising second date tonight that i'm looking forward to a lot. Hard to pick whether i'm more excited about the MTT saturday or this girl.

Sitting in my last class before spring break whaddup. There's a consulting competition that I got invited to join a group for, so over break I might prep for it just for funsies.

Let's just say that her clothes were incredible at hiding her orb that was her stomach. Probably about my weight. Tbh as soon as she'd taken off her skirt, I didn't want to jump ship because it would kill her self confidence/ hurt her feelings and a mutual friend had connected us that I didn't want to have anything negative get back to.

On the bright side the real date went really, really well. She stayed over and we had a lot in common to do together and talk about. Might be promising LTR material. Got my long term fwb coming over this afternoon to finish off what we decided not to do last night. Life is crazy now that I don't have school, feels like Friday night on Bovada for women.

Might play some 1/2 to dick around (keeping the dicktion topical) tonight before the tourney tomorrow.

Lost pretty close to the bubble and -1235 in live cash, -365 online since last update. Pretty standard swing, ran 12 bi under ev online. Got a lot of time this break to grind. Not worried at all.

Been doing a lot of other stuff, just finished up my spring break.

I'm starting a little challenge for my free time this spring: I'm not going to play live till I earn $X on Bovada. It's been going well but I've had two sessions now where I should have racked up earlier due to worsening game conditions and played poorly under the justification of, it took X time/effort to get here, rather than stopping like I do online. So without further ado I'm going to play till I hit $X. My bovada balance presently is $1036

Right now:
$1036/$X

I'm going out for drinks tonight with an international student that is a little loose. Let's hope I run good

Here's a spot:

32/23/0 over 22 hands up a quarter buyin (125bb eff) seems ABC opens CO for pot in a 6 handed game, btn folds I flat QJ88ds out of SB, bb calls. Flop is As 9d 8s I have a bdfd, I x/c 7 into 10.5. Turn is Jc he bets 18 into 24.5 and I do what ?

Since my 3-26 post, Bovada balance is at $3416/$X. Feeling happy with my game. My 6max game is going through the stages of tightening up in some spots and then looser when I feel more comfortable. I'm doing a lot of PPT range explorer work that's helping me adjust to narrower ranges.

Set another mini-goal of having 16,200 poker points before shotting 200pl 6max. Currently at 1900 since I last spent them. It functionally is a volume goal and should take around 120-175 more hours, not exactly sure.

Passed all my classes this semester, and I've got 1 more final & 1 more project then I'm home again. Should be a cinch.

Life is good.

740 days till graduation.

Put in like 20 hours since last post. Ran disgustingly bad and broke even so can not complain. Got it in 3 ways with top two, 2nd nfd, and gutter being .9% that was funny. Took advantage of the bitcoin deposit bonus so stuck another 1k on bovada to clear 7.5k poker points. Given I already was going to clear 14k more it's a no brainer to get some rakeback.
Felt awkward withdrawing then depositing in cash then bitcoin lol.
Final is in 5 days shouldn't be a problem.

Ok super duper tilting. Wrote out two posts that both got deleted when wifi reset both times. Cliffs: 3300/16200 pp. Cleared 18% of reload bonus. Stoplossed vs a 95/70/22 in a 6m game that hit everything. Doing a lot of prep for a final & a paper. Should be playing more after responsibilities are temporarily over.

Check your 2nd most recent post. It says 154 too. It likely updates your account site-wide. Dunno. Case in point now they're all 101. What did you mean?

Final is tomorrow morning. I feel pretty ready for it, then finishing a paper by Wednesday and I'm home free.
At 3670/16200 poker points. Shooting to be done with it by the end of June. To do so I have to put in a tad under 3 hours a day. That'll be tough given everything else I want to do, but I think it is doable with a few longer Saturdays & Sundays and late weeknights. I'm focusing most on my mental game and emotional reactions to hands, as we discussed earlier in the thread about stoicism. It's definitely my biggest leak and improving it will be hugely beneficial.

733 days till graduation.

I just absolutely demolished my final. Wouldn't be surprised if I got an A! Feels great.

Off to visit a girl in another city for the night then catch my flight home tomorrow and hitting the beach asap. Feels awesome.

Played a hand last night where my flop cbet & a call got minraised on a AJ8r flop 4 way limped pot, 3 way action I had J88*dd otb. Flatted flop raise and got it in on a diamond 5 vs a 86vpip whale who had AA obv. Dunno if I can just hero fold flop. Chalked it up to a cooler but since then I think I can get away from it..

They cancelled my withdrawal because my 'preferred withdrawal' option changed from VFF to BTC. This is so dumb. I'm testing a $20 BTC withdrawal to my circle account to see if it works smoothly, then i'll do the size I was intending in 5 days if all goes well. I just can't wrap my head around how Bovada cancelled a withdrawal through an acceptable withdrawal method for something that I hadn't selected and didn't intend/want. Bizarre

going directly from bovada to circle is a good way to get your circle account closed. setup a wallet on the blockchain or something and use that one between any gambling sites and circle.

Killing it on bovada. 3925/16200 poker points and a 32 buyin upswing. Not counting another $380 bonus dollars to clear.

Did some casual coaching (200) for some students at my school and made a bit (~400) in some tiny home games.

I might actually hit 20k before I hit 16200 poker points especially if you factor in the live games I'll be doing this summer. I need another $1500 to hit my $ goal from earlier before I play in a casino/cardroom setting again tho.

Still figuring out how I'm going to withdraw via bitcoin. And a 1k VFF withdrawal is overdue but it'll come eventually..

One last paper due tonight and I'm done with my semester!

You dont want to withdraw from Bovada to C1rcle or Co1nbase. You want to go from Bovada to Blockchain and Blockchain to C1rcle or Co1nbase.
