Two things I want to talk about:

1) Having trouble getting the volume in this week. Felt somewhat impatient tonight. It didn't affect my game but just felt irritated and made me just cash out and leave. What do you live grinders do to motivate yourself?

2) 2 limpers in EP. I am in the CO with KhKd. I open to 12, button calls along with both limpers. 4 players to the flop: 6d 2h 2d. Checks to me, I lead out 25. Button raises to 55. Limpers fold and I call. The raiser is an older gentleman whom I have never seen bluff or semi bluff.. his range is 77-QQ, 66, A2. Turn is 4d. I check, he checks. He is not slowplaying, so the flush concerns him. River Jh.. hero??

Paid insurance bill.

Roll: 5000.
Well i am not a grinder any more but i am a recreational live player now[1/2 to 5/10euro nlhe and 1/2 to 2/5euro nlplo], but for me playing pool, bowling and fishing[sweetwater on pike and bass so active fishing not sitting and stare at a float] helped to clear my mind and forget about poker and bad beats when i was playing 4to6 nights a week.
But i guess that where all private games, because here in the Netherlands live poker is only allowed by state casino's since 2005 or there about.
But i think you should find/play a game/sport/activity you like very much, and do /play that a couple a times a week, and working out seems to work for you i think looking at your story.
But i also ate good and healthy at least 5 days a week, and i noticed it when i didn't, and another important thing to me was drinking enough[like water and tea no sweet sh.t like juice and soft-drinks or coffee] and i found that out the hard way also[easily forgotten by many players i played with, but very important in my opinion]
And to make a long story even longer, i think that finding "things" to do that makes you forget about poker helped me a lot when i was grinding 4to6 days a week, and for me it where more then one, but hey every man is different right! maybe for you it is reading who knows.
Well anyways i wish you lots of wisdom and profit on your road to a good home and better live , with or without poker in it.

Flatting big pp's is a good decision at the right time. At 1/2 you can 3-bet all big pp's because people won't fold, it doesn't matter that you're telling them what you have. Against good 1/2 players and at higher stakes, flatting a big pp in LP has a lot of balance, and you can also just flat V's flop c-bet, it'll look like you're just floating with AK. The higher the stakes, the more deception matters.

Been overly emotional the past two days for no particular reason. Perhaps the lifestyle of sleeping on a couch and being lonely. Thing is I could easily put some money into renting a room. Reminiscing the past lately. Prob just one of those days. Years ago I felt unhealthy about my poker passions.. perhaps because I wasn't as committed to evolving as a player and just wanted an easier life without putting in the necessary efforts.. now my passion to succeed is stronger than ever and I am fully committed.. giving up a lot of my lifestyle comforts recently to insure a better chance of success.. keep telling myself just to be patient and stay even keel.. and I will. Be nice to feel a little normal.. a lot of people I meet think I just have a gambling addiction or I'm just chasing a pipe dream.. my best friend has been my greatest support and is encouraging though. He is a veteran from the Navy and understands lifestyle compromise.

All in all I'm just ranting. Took two days off from the grind and going back at it. I'm ahead of where I expected to be by now and im not too far from my 10k goal. I'm currently commuting 1 hour to foxwoods from MA and trying to decide where I will reside when I'm financially ready.. haven't slept in my car in 2 weeks which is awesome. Paying 50/week for the couch. Good things come to those who work for it.. right?

Think those are pretty natural feelings for your situation. And it can definitely be tough for people to understand poker as a profession. When you do end up buying a place you should probably be as close to the casino as possible as long as the area you find a place in is safe. It's nice to limit those fixed expenses as much as possible. Maybe message Gangip (Foxwoods reg, nice guy, has a pgc) and see what areas around foxwoods are nice/safe.

I was thinking about burnout recently.

There's a vietnamese soup dish called pho that I adore with almost the same intensity that I love my girlfriend. Seriously, it's tasty. Anyway, I always have it after I go rock climbing with my brother. There was one week, however, when I had it a lot. I started thinking I was over it and didn't have it for a week. Of course, I had it again, and it was friggin AWESOME! Yummy *rubs belly*

My point is that poker is a pursuit where one is most prone to burnout. Because of its mental nature, plus the fact that it can impact people financially (unless properly rolled), it can put a lot of stress on you.

Just like with exercise to grow our muscles, we must have time off of poker. I don't know what that means to you. For me it's a part of day (or sometimes a whole day) where Poker doesn't enter my mind, and I allow myself to live my other passions.

When your mind is relaxed and clear, your A game inevitably follows.

Because of the nature of Poker, our most powerful driving force in this game is passion. Or desire. Or drive. Whatever word you think fits. Without this drive, we won't want to play, study and improve. So it is important to find how to maintain our drive, just as much as our understanding of the game. I find time off makes me hungry to come back and learn. And play.

However I'm hardly ever off these forums, haha. You people are all so awesome, the forum support of everyone is also something that makes me hungry to be better. Although I will take a break if I need it.

I hope I got the point I was trying to make across. Don't know if I did... But anyway.

Good luck sir! May the streak long continue.

I'm not saying this is the only way of thinking, it's just what makes sense to me.

I'm half vietnamese.. I LOVE PHO! I don't get to eat it enough and maybe that will be another goal of mine! I couldn't agree with you more on the aspect of balance. It is my drive that is paving the way to success. I won't play if im emotional or burnt out. Pretty awesome advice man, thanks
