Hi InTheFold, been following your blog for quite sometime. Don't listen to the naysayers. I am in a similar position to yourself, but I believe we both will make it. Continue grinding, do what makes you happy. Getting back into poker myself, I only know how to play NLHE but really admire PLO players, got to teach me sometime.

He really should listen to the naysayers and based off his last post it looks like he prob went busto and honestly prob for the best. Poker is fkn hard, especially if you want to be able to make a decent living playing online. The end result is not very surprising when he only had a couple buyins for the stakes he was playing. Also, the guy has never ran and or looked at a sim in his life yet he expected to succeed in this day and age? I honestly think a lot of recreationals underestimate what it takes to consistently make money in this game. Anyways, don't want to come off as a dick, I wish you luck in your future endeavors OP.

OP I’ve been reading for a bit and enjoy your old school misc posting style lol. I think that you need to set really strict limits with bankroll management and maybe consider additional ways to make income. The fee for over-drafting from your bank is going to likely hurt your hourly so bad that it could likely become negative. Please consider taking time to cool down after busting a table especially before incurring such fees

Also op, this is going to fall on deaf ears, but 2+2 would be full of millionaires if even 5% of them could follow a simple rule - you want 100 buyins for the stake you are playing. That includes money you have that you plan on using for life stuff, doesn’t matter. If you follow that rule and plan on improving in poker, and you’re not an addict or a slot degen, you’ll get wealthy from poker eventually.

this is true if you started playing poker in 2004, its not true for someone who is starting in 2024. it might save you from going broke but thats about it.

You also have to be good enough to win AND outperform the stake + tips + parking / gas and have the hourly rate be above $20/hour or you're better off making subs and getting tips you will be at like $28 an hour

lol, $35/hr for making subs sounds absurd. Find that pretty hard to believe, have to imagine you're inflating the dealer hourly as well, even in a touristy/HCOL area

Granted there are a lot of terrible degrees that are a waste of money, but many of them shouldn't be. Even if those numbers are actually true, your job should be less stressful than being a dealer or working in food service. If not, I think you need to find a new job lol. If you're only making $27/hr with a degree, I would think you either need to be in a field with a lot of room for growth, or you need to be spending a decent chunk of your working day working on something else that will eventually make you more money
