Sup 2+2,

I've always dreamt about having a life as a poker pro. Years ago, I saw a high stakes poker game on television, and thought what every beginner thinks: ''How hard can it be?'' Playing poker for a couple of hours and walk away with a yearly salary.

Now, years later, I realise that playing poker for a living is hard, very hard. Especially in these days, where there are a lot of sick poker wizzards; regulars; and the fish even know something about what they are doing.

I never really took the time and effort to improve my game and be able to move up in stakes. I'm just a slightly winner in most games and waste all my winnings on mass tabling MTT's while watching TV. Well that's about to change, because I've decided:

I want to be a high stakes 18-man regular.

Why the 18-mans? It's a though game, but I like competition. The $30's and $60's are filled with regulars. I've always had trouble with finding the motivation to study, improve my game and review sessions. Because of the though competition, its important to get my game to a higher lvl; every day. I hope that I will once be able to beat the 18-mans, and other SNG formats, at all stakes.

Long therm goals:
  • $30/$60 regular
  • Improve, study, evaluate
  • Keep the volume up!
  • Move to Malta
  • Make at least $50k/year
  • Get a coach

2013 goals:
  • Move from $3,50's to $15's
  • Improve, study, evaluate
  • Keep thread updated
  • Buy SNG wiz

Starting at $3,50's with a roll of $384,75. I hope this thread will motivate myself and others, because the 18-man is an underrated format

Thanks, let's hope I'm playing with you very soon

I won't reveal my SN right now, maybe later, we'll see how it goes

A few giraffes? You ask, I deliver!

Had a good kickoff! Played super solid, 60 games with 40% ROI. Not bad for the first day Today's profit is just over $85.

I must say, the 18 mans on these stakes are pretty soft. A lot of players are way too agressive, and shoving way too light in the early stages. There is a flat pay out structure, (40%-30%-20%-10%), so it doesn't pay off to play too agressive to try to get the chiplead all the time. Its about getting ITM and climbing the payladder. In my opinion, you should pick your spots well and keep track of the stacksizes at the table. These are I think one of the most important factors in the 18mans.

Because of the flat pay out structure ICM is very important, so I hope I can get SNG wiz soon.

40% isn't sustainable obv, but I hope I can at least maintain 15% at this stake. Lets see how the coming days will go! Lets build that sample.

Playing really solid again today, but I'm losing pretty much every decent hand.
Not here to cry or anything, things will turn around eventually but it has been a while since I had a bad run so doesnt feel great

30 BI swings will happen all the time so don't sweat it, you'll have a few 80-100 swings too so beware

Yeah I know, just was a bit frustrated because it has to happen at the start of my challenge But the swings can be awful indeed.

Another day at the 18's, another day of DS

40 bi's downswing, really getting demotivated by everyone getting there except me. Its the life of a SNG player

cEV

$$$$

Played a couple of MTT's, FT bubbled again in a $8 6-max, good for $90 or so. BR is growing while the 18's are going horrible. So thats at least one positive thing about today I just keep grinding, one thing good about a DS this early is that I know what I can expect. I'll also not be as dissapointed as I used to be when I hit a 15 or 20 bi downswing

Yeah it really sucks to play good and lose, but after a downswing always comes the hot run Just keep playing good.

Running bad at 18's, but other games are going pretty well; some 6 man HT's, 9man turbo's and a couple of MTT's. Total graph of all games since first day:

Sup guys, long time no see

I've been playing some different types of SNG's, and some cash. Played some 180's today, binked one, made around $100 total. I'm also still in the sunday storm, I'm already garuanteed over $200 So that'll be a nice addition to my BR. Lets bink him, imo. 75 ppl left, will keep u updated.

St. Julians and Sliema is where the most poker players live. If you want to look for appartments you should def. look at Dhalia, they are an estate agency which a lot of pokerplayers recommend.

    Pokerwise;
BR is over $750 now. This is mainly because of the MTT's and 180's. Most volume comes from 18's, but as you all know I'm running like hell there. I might consider to put in more volume in 180's and 45's. Variance is bigger in those, but I should be alright with this BR.

That's it for today! Lets crush again tomorrow.

Don't know what it is but I keep playing well and getting sucked out. Guess I'm not welcome at the 18's. Over 50bi downswing right now. I'm seriously considering dropping the 18's from my game. I know its just variance, but just losing every flip is really demotivating to keep grinding.

Just finished 2nd in an $8 tournament for just over $1100. I was 2nd when the FT begon, and it was just full of spewtards. Almost didn't play any hands, just a couple of steals and knocked one person out w/ A9o > A3o. I was a 4 to 1 dog when HU begon, my opponent was the only decent player at the table. Couldn't win but I'm very happy with my second place finish Got knocked out with PFAI Q7s < KJs
