Hi guys,

About me:

My name's Rob. As you can guess from the thread title I really like Pokerstars' ZOOM poker. I'm 23 years old and I'm from the UK, I have a pretty decent job with a large bank so I guess anything I make from poker is purely going to be used to move up in stakes.

Back story:

I've been playing poker somewhat regularly for about three years now but, like many, have never really thought too much about the game further than playing a few thousand hands a month at 10nl or whatever. Of late I've been playing a lot of ZOOM and started around a month ago with $35 I had on Stars, I went through the limits pretty quickly and then didn't play for a week or so once I hit $350 in my roll. I then picked things up at the beginning of this week and put in some decent volume.

This thread and its aim:

From this thread I'm basically just hoping to get better and speak to some like-minded people I guess.

I'm starting with a roll of $1,007. I'll be playing $25nl 6-max for a little longer and probably mixing in some $50nl fairly soon too, I can be pretty aggressive with moving up due to not relying on the money or anything.

Thanks for reading and I would really appreciate any comments or advice throughout the thread

Oh, I forgot to mention that I will be updating this thread regularly with hand histories, graphs and stats but I'm having trouble with PT4 at the minute. I'm trying to install it and I'm getting loads of errors and problems with it.

If anyone who is better than me with this sort of stuff would like to offer assistance I would be more than grateful

GL. I know that PT3 still works well with beta updates and is compatible with zoom. I'm interested in how your 25nl goes. I started with $250 at 5nl and am almost at my 50buyin rule for 25nl so will be moving up soon

Just a quick update. I played a short session on two tables of $50nl and two tables of $25nl. I won a couple of standard big pots at $50nl and profited about $150 for the session.

Bankroll: $1,151

Thanks mate. Good luck to you too.

I've found that I concentrate on 50nl more than 25nl when I play a split session so if you find out my screen name, don't forget to call me light

Update #2

Played quite a long session today with a lot of ups and downs. I have stopped playing $50nl for at least a little while, it's not that I feel I don't have a sufficient enough bankroll for it, it's just that the players tend to put me in difficult situations a lot more than at $25nl. One of my weaknesses is playing in 3-bet pots and it seems that every pot ends up being 3-bet at some point. Playing without a HUD obviously doesn't help as I still can't figure out how to install PT3/PT4. I think I will need someone to Teamviewer with me and basically tell me step-by-step how to do it. It will at least make this thread a bit more interesting so I can post some hands and show everyone what a station I am.

I pretty much broke even in today's session. I would be disappointed had I not been stuck almost $200 at one point from a few bad hands of $50nl.

Bankroll: $1,165
Profit since challenge start: $158.33

what do you play omaha or holdem, i def made more playing omaha, i think they like to gamble more and take more chances especially at the $50 and $100 tables.

I'm playing hold 'em at the minute.

Playing a session of $50nl at the minute as I'm feeling good about my game. Up around $100 so far. It should be more but I 4bet AQ and a tard called with 66, flop is AQ6, gg me.

Update #4

Didn't update yesterday because I was busy at work and spent some time with my girlfriend.

I have managed to play a couple of sessions however and things have been going quite well. I'm going to move up to $100nl once I reach $2,000 which will hopefully be fairly soon.

Profit from the last two days: $398
Bankroll: $1,750
Profit since the start of the challenge: $743
