Hello everyone, my name is Elliott and I am from Montreal, Canada. I am a 21 year old student who has always enjoyed problem solving as well as being a natural risk taker. I have had other PG&C threads, but I have decided that this will be the last one I ever make. I want to see how far I can take poker, and will continuously update my journey here. Now that it is essentially the Fall, I will be going back to university, which I am pretty thrilled about. Therefore, I hope that I can turn poker into a sustainable activity alongside my studies.

Eventually, I will grind my roll up and move up in stakes, as well as head into more heads up hypers. I believe the strongest part of my game is heads up, so I hope to work on other parts as well. I do wish to play some live games eventually, but that might not be in the near future. As for reviewing hands and studying, that's something I will need to concentrate on doing more. On a consistent basis, I will post interesting hands so feel free to constructively critique them. I tend to watch poker videos rather often, but I should be looking over my own play more thoroughly.

My last couple of threads consisted of me grinding 2.25$ Hypers on FTP as well as dabbling in MTTs here and there. I did not really play too much during the last two weeks of Summer, but I had moved up to 5$ Hypers before my short hiatus. Naturally, the competition is stiffer, but nothing that I cannot overcome with some hard work and dedication. Below is my lifetime graph playing 2.25s and the first ~1k I did not consider myself very good.

I am fully aware of the variance of HU Hypers, which is why I will begin by one/two tabling them. I believe that my skill level is capable of beating higher stakes in HU Hypers, but I am not bankrolled for them yet. I also purchased a basic sharkscope package and opted in/reset my statistics for this thread. I plan to update this as often as possible to let everyone know how I am coming along.

My main goal is to reach 10k from playing, which is very ambitious for the stakes I am playing. I also hope to bink an avatar tournament, as it has always been a goal of mine, so I think I will put my FTPs towards tournament tickets. Lastly, I want to apply and maintain a positive attitude and mentality. The results are not as important as making the correct decisions and that is something I need to realize and improve upon. With that said, if ever I do not feel like playing or I realize that I am not playing my best, I will stop immediately. That is also why I do not plan to have a bankroll tally and update that. I really just want to focus on playing poker and forget about the money aspect. I will update with graphs to show my progress and there is a possibility that eventually I might transition to Stars instead of FTP.

Time has come for my first update. Firstly, I am going to explain my current life situation. I am currently working 3-4 days a week temporarily and am enrolled in three university classes. Anyways, I am finally able to update this thread for the first time. I have not put in very much volume, but I have been trying to play my best at all times. I would say that only a handful of games I would consider that I played badly or spewed. So far, I am relatively content with how things have gone, but I just want to keep playing. My hypers have been going well, everything else has been mediocre at best. I have not put in much total volume, so I expect a lot of fluctuations in my separate graphs throughout the next few weeks. I will update with my Hyper graph as well as my MTT/Satellite Graph.

I still have not really put in that much volume, but here is an update. So far things are going well and I cannot really complain. Almost binked a small 4max MTT, but heads up got it all in pre flop 66<AA, was a standard spot so nothing much to say about it. For some reason, my bankroll and SharkScope do not seem to matchup and I am not sure what the cause is. My theory is that it has to do with rebuys/add-ons, but I am not sure. Naturally, I would rather have everything matchup, but it does not change that I am just trying to play poker and not focus too much on the money aspect. I am really enjoying playing MTTs and Hypers, I think having a balance will only make me a better overall player and lead to improvement. Also, it is a good way to want to play poker and keep me interested and have fun. Making deep runs in MTTs is always a bit of a thrill and that is what it is all about.

Doing a quick update since I have been playing a decent amount of poker. Overall, I am happy with how things are progressing. My hypers are going well and the regs at 5s have left me alone for the most part. There are only a few who present a real challenge imo, but I do not mind taking them on and trying to outplay them. As for MTTs/Satellites, I have been running pretty badly and have not capitalized on any deep runs. The satellites have been especially gross. I came 7th in a 4max one today, I was really unsatisfied with that result, but that is the way she goes sometimes. I had one interesting hand in one of my MTTs and I feel as though I should have gotten more value from it in hindsight. I am going to post it below for some discussion.




1. I do not have any specific reads on villains and at this point we are itm. I think preflop is perfect and flop is good. I think there may be an argument for check raising turn to get more value. The river is where I am mostly concerned about. I am not sure if I should have check-raised or overbet as I did. My thinking on the overbet was to get value from an A and at the same time make my hand look like a bluff. Also, there is always the chance that villain has a better boat so I can still fold to a reshove. I think my line was fine, but maybe a check-raise would have been better.

My play as of late has been tilty/spewy and basically just not very good overall. A lot of it has been caused by running badly, but that just seems to accentuate my poor play. My SharkScope ran out so I decided that I will only get it back when my bankroll hits a certain point. Something positive from all this was that I stopped playing, as I realized that I was playing poorly and did not change stakes or take shots. I just decided to play again another day.
