Hey Johns nice to hear from a fellow hyper turbo player, hope to see you in the 3.50s sometime soon.
First of all, playing is the most effective way of learning in my opinion, but apart from that I'd certainly recommend looking through hyper turbo threads on this site and studying hands they've uploaded and comparing how they play to how you play.
Another great source would be jacktheshipper. He is a hyper turbo pro who is absolutely crushing heads up games at the moment, and has done strategy guides on youtube - here's a link to his channel

By choosing hyper turbo heads up games you're going to have to accept the variance, and believe me it'll get a lot worse than 5 straight losses. It's not unusual for players to have swings of 100+ buy-ins. I've had monster losing sessions but they equal out with winning sessions, you just have to get the volume in. After a big losing session I would recommend taking a break, only 5 minutes or so just to cool off, it can really help.
Thanks my graph is looking good however it's early days and I've had a good run. Plus it's possible to sustain a high ROI at these levels, mine is currently 20 percent.
A final tip would be to keep records of your games, and download pokeit in order to study your hands after sessions. If you really want to learn the game and improve you should be putting almost as much time as you spend playing into reviewing your plays.
I don't have Skype but will be downloading it for Uni so I'll add you then.
Good luck buddy don't let variance get you down just get the VOLUME in.
