Hello 2p2!

Welcome to my blog and to my looong path to become a true PLO pro

Some info about me

I've been playing poker recreationally since I was 18 (I'm currently 23) and I discovered PLO about 2 years ago. I won several tourneys running really hot but then I was losing it all playing under-rolled on the cash tables.

I really love the game (with all its deathly swings) and I finally decided to give it a good try: solid BRM, a lot of study hours, HH reviews, etc.

I wanted to start this thread on January, but due to exams (finishing Economics) I decided not to play till February. Instead, I used this time to study the game. As I was a lot of hours in the library studying, it was easy to switch to PLO when I was tired of Economics.

In this time, I read Hwang's The Big Play Strategy and took notes. Right now I am starting his second book, Advanced PLO Vol. I which should bring my game to the next level.

I subscribed also to Deuces Cracked and downloaded ALL PLO videos available. I just finished watching V.Selbst and Whitelime 2x6 series, and took notes also.

Next video series I'll watch will be PLO, by Whitelime and the PLO Master: Phil Galfond

Starting Bankroll

About 400$ so taking shots at PLO10

Goals for the Year:

[] Study A LOT the game: Read all Hwang's books, watch tons of DC vids, read Bug's PLO guide from Donkr, review sessions, post difficult hands at 2p2... Would be cool also to find some study buddies

[] Beat PLO100 with a solid BB/100

____________________________________________

That's pretty much it. Learn a lot, crush even more And DON'T whine about variance, rake, or any other excuse. I know I can beat this game.

Time to prove it!

And I just started the first session of the year. 1000 hands at Zoom PLO10. Absolutelly great start:

What do you think about my stats? Maybe I should tighten up a little bit more? 3bet more? Any comments on them will be really appreciated!

I will try to play at least 1000 hands per day, some more on weekends. 50k hands per month would be good volume I guess.

Biggest hand of the day:

Donkies! Session started quite bad but after this hand all went really well. Running above EV also but hey, I take it!

Tomorrow I'll analyze my session and maybe post some nicer hands. I'm quite happy with some of the plays I did today.

    See ya!

2,5k session today. Not happy about it... I think I played it just horrible. I stacked way too light, missed tons of spots for extracting value, bluffed (and got called) too much when it was obvious I was beat...

Meh, at least I put some good volume and will serve to learn. I tighted up a little more my VPIP and PFR from previous session BUT I just saw a huge leak on my game.

I definatelly play way too much from the blinds, and this costs me tons of monies. Now that I just reviewed a little the whole session gonna play a 2nd one of 1k hands or so and apply much more position to my play.

If Vanessa Selbst would see me... after watching her whole video series and I totally ignore her number 1 rule! POSITION IS THE NUTS!

    Ok, back to the tbls!

Decided to take a shot at PLO25... Epic fail

I ran so absolutelly f*** bad that I ended up tilting and playing even worse. AAxx on a AQx flop, I stack the guy for 32$ and hits his 4th Q on the turn..

Then I stack two guys for a pot over 110$ with the nut straight + redraw to higher straight on the turn, and the river pairs the board and all goes to the AAA guy...

And lastly, I lose a 90$ pot on 443 board with my AA4x vs A5 when he rivers the 2 that gives him the wheel...

Feel devastated. Don't know if to drop to PL10 again, stop playing for 1-2 weeks and study the game just or what to do.

          Bankroll 270$

Bink! A nice win in a 3$ omaha tourney and we're back on green!! Since then I've been playing around 1k hands of PL50 and damn it's so much soft than PL25! is it possible or is my imagination just?

Idk but I feel much more comfortable than in PL25...but that might be because of the horrible session I did.

Anyway, bankroll at 1015$ and giving a shot at PL50!
