Hey, going to university as well. Got the same problems, I tend to skip most of my classes because I can't pay attention enough, or I am not willing to do it. I don't know. I do know though that I'll have to study my ass of for next 2 months now because I have been lazy as ****.

Btw, I really liked the debut album of alt-j, listened to it like close to a hundred times, but recent album was pretty meh imho. Only listened to it like once or twice. What are your thoughts on that? really liked tracks like breezeblocks, fitzpleasure, taro, etc Don't know why. Maybe because debut album felt really fresh or w/e

Nice, what are you studying? The thing is, society pushes us to do things and believe in certain principles. When we stray from that path uncertainty rises. There is a thin line that separates laziness from doing something you are not meant to do or you don't want to do.

Totally with you on the Alt J albums. Personally I didn't know many of their songs before so the new album was unknown to me. During the concert I was telling my girlfriend about these songs I didn't like very much and she said those where all from the new album.

studying commercial sciences, which is somewhat comparable/inbetween economics and econometry i guess. in my 3rd year currently, plan is to finish bachelor this year, so basically gonna take 2 months off, besides playing on sunday (because well, you can win zeh million etc)

yeah, seems the consensus about alt-j. so if you like them, we might have some pretty similar music taste. my all-time favourite band is the national. furthermore I also greatly enjoy the antlers, vampire weekend, kendrick lamar, etc

it's december, so i have some catching up to do on this current year. Looking at my last.fm account I listened most to belle & sebastian, courtney barnett, wolf alice, tobias jesso jr, sufjan stevens, torres, el vy (side project from lead singer from the national) this year

discovered 'turnover' today, pretty cool dreamy-cosy indie rock i'd say.

hard to judge, but think this track from recent sufjan stevens album might be the best of the year. it's hard to compare though sometimes. really beautiful

also this one from elvy's debut album is really awesome. matt's voice is just the goat

Thanks for those tracks, will listen to them on the live grind today.

With 5 minutes left til start of day 1b Eureka main, I am probably the only poker player sitting on a bus. Will miss first level of play because the bus had 1 hour delay in the morning. I would advise anyone against traveling with the company meinfernbus. They have a really bad customer support and put me on a massive live tilt. Hopped on to a random bus after that and entering Prague now.
I will post some hands here if someone is following along.

Gl me!

So I missed first level but sat now. Nothing happened at my table yet, everyone on starting stacks and everyone unknown. Guess that's good.

First hand I pick up red rockets and win a 20bb pot. Yeeei
Thanks for the gl!

Thanks guys!

Already at 40k from 25k starting after following hand:
Blinds at 75/150 and I am in the BB with SB sitting out. Hole cards KQss. It folds to the btn who looks spewy calling station. He raises to 550 and I think he just wants to steal it a lot, so I 3bet to 1,5k. He quickly calls. Flop comes K T 3 rainbow. I cbet 1.6k and he calls quickly. Turn is the 6c, bringing the second club, otherwise a brick imo. I bet 3k, he snaps again. At this point I put him on random K or T and maybe some 77,88,99. River is the Qc. I bet 5k and he snaps with 36o lol

It really seems like I've struck gold today with the table draw. Got a fish with big stack syndrome , a calling station, 2 nits, a face up player and maybe 2 capable regs.

Bluff gone bad, then set over set and K high flush to A high flush for the rest of it. Let's see what's going on in the city!

Time for an update!

Prague was not a very productive trip pokerwise. I busted the Eureka main in 4 hours and tried to qualify to the 2k high roller and played the 330€ Prague Cup with no dice in those either. Most likely I didn't play my best. I was overly excited the morning I left Vienna but when I got there it all kind of faded away in the mass of people in all the tournament rooms. Can't explain why. Normally I would be even more pumped and ready to play. I picked the wrong EPT stop for a mood like that though, as the fields where very good.

I got back to Vienna on Thursday with my brother and we had some nice bonding time over here. We have been living in separate countries for over 5 years now and we met up only when we both where at home in Romania, with a few exceptions where I visited him or he visited me. On a mini pub crawl we discussed a lot of meaningful things over some good quality beer.

On Friday I got back on the grind. I made a good profit by winning back to back 3,5+r 180 sng, so that was a +1k day with some other min cashes. Saturday was another grinding day and it could've been a great one, hadn't it been for my impulsive actions. Well, only one action actually. I had a lot of cashes and deep runs (17th Big 44, 18th 22 SKO) and I made the final table of the 22$ Saturday 6max. With a huge chiplead I had very good momentum up to the point where we got 5 handed. I lost AK<99 to double up a shortstack and then I doubled him up again with AQ to AK where the money went in on a Q high turn (spoiler alert...gutshot hit). These hands where ok, I guess. Even though I had lost half of my stack, I was still tied for the chiplead. Then it happened... I have A3o in the BB and defend vs the BTN opener (the guy who I doubled up twice). The flop is Js 3c 9d rainbow. I check raise his cbet almost 3x. He calls and the turn is 4h. I bet 2/3 pot, he calls. The river is another J and I overshove covering him. He tanked for his whole timebank before he called with KJ for a set.
As a conclusion, I don't mind my bluff. The thing that got me frustrated was my thought process. I didn't even assign him a range and I only realized this after I shoved and he was tanking. Around the 1 minute mark he was in the tank, I was pretty sure he had a J with a good kicker and I also knew he was going to sigh call me. If J doesn't hit the river, my bluff works. That's irrelevant however and far away from the main point. I should've thought this hand through in the smallest detail because I knew I was going to 3 barrel it.
Even thouh this was another +1k profit day, I felt miserable. It felt like I've degened away 3k in 2 minutes on a roulette spin or something.

In other news, I got a dog with my girlfriend. A beagle puppy named Jazz
I will post some photos of him.

For the next post I will prepare some insight of my new game selection tactics.

PS I intended to shoot some photos in Prague for the thread but wound up too drunk, so couldn't be bothered.

I let my thread slide into the abyss of 2p2

After last update I got caught up in Christmas preparations and whatnot and I didn't play very much. Had a really nice time back home with family and friends, always cherish those moments for a long time after I return to Vienna. As I mentioned in my previous update, I bought a puppy with my girlfriend but before returning from Romania we decided to leave him with my parents back there. It wasn't an easy decision but I think it was the right one. My parents love him and he has so much space in our yard there compared to how much space he had in our 1 bedroom apartment.
Anyway, here's a picture of him

After new year's I started grinding on the 3rd. I played a lot and it went downhill. I got in a pretty big MU compared to what I was used to. November to date was pretty much a tough losing streak. It got me thinking about game selection and I decided to cut out turbos except the hots and the late good ones up to 16,5$.
I also struggled with my capped table number. A while ago I decided to play max 6 tables at once and stop loading new ones if I make a final table. This lead to me often checking the lobby and worrying that I won't have space to open some good games. I always felt unsure about what games to play and what to skip. It's not that easy because I play ps.fr and 888 too. As a conclusion, what I decided is that I will stop checking the lobby for other games and just play out what I decided to be good value games to start with. After my session today I will post some hands for discussion. Looking forward to that.

Here is the graph overall for the losing streak:

Format is ******ed because my SS subscription has just expired. Time period is November to date. I keep struggling with my mental game a bit. At times I feel like my mind is drifting away. I am definitely aware of it and it tilts me when it happens. I'll keep this short as I'm starting my session now.

Oh, and I played around with hm2 a little. Wanted to see my bb/100 rates. I don't know how relevant this is, as the sample is only 100k hands.

Thoughts?
