if it were true someone could make good money sitting in an area full of people playing a musical instrument id go out and do it if i knew how to play a musical instrument. But just like panhandlers those people dont make much and just like panhandlers, get told they have to move along. Im happy just grinding on Bovada since i cant afford to play live poker either with such a low roll. at least on bovada im steadily winning. How much did u actually make playing music? and i mean on a bad or average day, not a way above average day.

the best game in town for those with NO roll to speak of is $20 NL 50c-1 blinds at club fortune. their $1-6 spread limit game is also $1.50 per orbit in blinds instead of $3 per orbit as most spread limit games, saving u a lot when on a short roll.

how is it possible to make over $22k this year and yet be broke? i only made about $3k this year, played very little poker, been too broke, but id certainly would have no problems affording a place to live and money to buyin at NL if id won all that over the year. or if i had friends to live with for free and just sit on the computer, learning to improve my game and stake me, as u had for so long.

the hate some guys are giving him, is NOTHING compared to the hate some people give me on my blog and on another website. what im saying is he is lucky to have so many supporters and friends, who respect his desire to want to be as good at possible and succeed. i do too, but people just dont see it, and yet ive been doing it way more years. and i feel a lot of that hate is undeserved because i obviously manage money far better to not have gone broke as little as i won this year, yet still have over $600 cash and about $150 on bovada. But a lot of those who hate me claim its because i wasted money foolishly on other games besides poker which i dont feel is a problem your friend has.

But dont claim we arent alike. we are in a way, neither one of us would ever consider giving up the idea of playing poker for a living and both of us have shown success at it and with a bankroll, we could both do rather well at it. Hes been lucky to have friends like u take him in and stake him. ive never had a large longterm loan or stake, all mine were pretty small in nature and short term, like 1-2 buyins and settled up immediately after the game ended. if i wouldve had that opportunity, id be a success by now and wouldnt be getting so much hate on my blog. i dont know if uve even read it but ud find it interesting.

im just wondering whats the best way to get money together outside of poker, so was curious if hes having any luck with the music is all.

to be honest i think the reason i get all that hate is due to my aspergers, and my upbringing, a lot of people just give me **** due to my beliefs and they are blinded by that, and are unable to see that im good at poker due to it. ur friend is far more liberal and cool and thats why he dont get all the hate i get. I think I will be able to play much better after taking this time away from the tables. I plan to save up a little more cash then take a shot this Monday. The rainy weather is gone, the temperatures are starting to drop a bit it is actually get a little chilly at night. I have been out playing my guitar everyday. My arms and fingers are building up some stamina, I can play 4 hrs now.

I had my first run in with the cops the other night. I was playing in front of the guts of Bill's. Eight LV metro officers come and tell me I can't have an amp (I play through a tiny battery powered amp) or a chord. I would think they have bigger fish to fry but I guess not. I had coicendentally checked the time and had decided to leave within 5 minutes right before they showed up so I was not tilted at all. It brings back memories of my high school days, band practice at my friend's garage we had the cops called on us countless times haha.

Anyhow I'll keep playing on the Strip and I doubt it will be a persistant problem but we'll see. I've had bike cops stop and watch me play for a while and not say anything. I have played Freemont street and security said I was fine as long as I'm 200 ft from the stage when bands play there.

When I found your blog yrs ago I found it intriguing. I respect that fact that you have been on the grind for so long. You are obviously a consistent winner no denying that. You also seem to be a superior bankroll manager, props. As for all your "haters", nobody can be the judge of you besides yourself so take their words with a grain of salt.

I think we are alike in some ways. But I have never said I wouldn't ever give up playing poker for a living. It just so happens I have made more money playing poker than at any other job I've had. I have said I don't forsee myself playing poker professionally for 20+ yrs, I believe I will eventually move on to something else and will play less frequently.

Come on, I know you are smarter than to assume everyone who doesn't have children have all had abortions. There are a variety of forms of readily available, reliable contraception. I use a condom everytime I get laid, I know I can't handle the responsiblities of fatherhood at this point in my life. If something should go wrong there is the morning after pill.

I try to be easy going, I get along with pretty much everyone. I will agree I was fortunate to make friends from 2+2 that graciously helped me in tough times. If you would be slightly less abrasive and worked on your social skills I am sure you would find the same opportunities I was given. Referring to everyone on 2+2 as "mainstream radical leftwing ungodly athiest people" is not the kind of stuff you say if you want to network and make friends who will help you if you need it.


Morning games suck, I am not going to battle the nits. Nits are usually winning players or lose very little. Subtract rake and there is very little reason to play with them. (I don't mind 1 or 2 on my immediate left that will surrender the btn often) The majority of money injected into the poker economy comes from loose stations and people who bluff off their whole stack.


Evening and early morning is undoubtedly the best time to play. This is when the highest ratio recreational players to serious players occurs.
