I got to smoke a few bowls and catch up with my older brother Eric. He has been on some crazy adventures and I haven't seen him in like 2 yrs. He splits his time between Louisiana and Mexico City, working on an independent film.

One of the things that we ended up talking about is how problem solving is a skill universally valuable in every trade. If you can solve problems then you are an asset to any company.

There is a lot of problem solving in poker. Each individual hand, each tactic, each strategy as well as the big picture all require problem solving. I need to be the best problem solver in order to be resilient

I've got about $1500 right now, I am going to get back into the grind tomorrow at m8trix.

I may possibly end up in Pittsburg at some point, I've got no set plans or obligations for the forseeable future so I'm pretty much open to anything. I'll let my friend scout out the games for awhile and see if it could be worth a visit.

I'll give myself and A for the short session. There was about 3 tables of 1/2/3 running, action was decent.

I'll be back at M8trix today and get in a full session.

It was pouring rain all day today but that doesn't separate the degens from the cardroom. I didn't end up playing that long. I have to wake up early (by poker player standards) tomorrow and take a friend to a court date, hopefully after that I'll be able to put a 10 hr session. I'll grade my play an A, my reads were accurate. No mistakes I can think of.

I think this is called "bb special"

I check bb with 42

Flop- 443
I lead for 10 into 15 and get 2 callers

Turn- 2
I bet 35 into 35. both call

River- 8
action killer? I jam 149 into 140, tank call, and snap call 107, K6

Average hourly winrate- $4
Winnings- $352

2012 YTD

I'll give myself A for the session. I managed to get good value with my strong hands and lose the minimum with second best hands. I was on the list for 1/2/3 and 2/3/5 but it took me 2 hrs to get texted for a seat. They had 3 of each of those games. They also had a roped off section with 3 10/25 games going. That's a big game saw some 10k+ stacks.

I'm pretty dissappointed with my volume this month. We are on the verge of a new year, the pefect time to look back in retrospect and set high goals for the future.

I arrived in Vegas today. I hit up Bellagio for a short session then snagged an apartment at the same place I was at this summer. I was pretty tired so I crashed but I just woke up 2 mins ago and I only slept 4 hrs.

It's cold outside, bout 10 degrees lower than the Bay Area. Feels good to be back.

I'll post my goals for 2013 tomorrow, I already know it is going to be a sick year!

Thanks! The basic plan is crusshhhhhhhhh!!!!! I'll get into more concise details later. Yeah I'm low on cash, gonna nit it up with expenses as much as possible while I build my roll. I do have 600 in food comps so I'll at least have some meals covered.

If you go busto you can always use my plan. Get a Halloween custome and take pictures with the tourists on the strip.

I always tell people that's what I'd do haha... some of those guys actually make decent cash for just standing around in a Mario suit, the trick is to find a shady spot. I think I would dress up as Godzilla that would be cool.

Some dealers are ******ed. I'm playing 1/2 and a girl raises to 17, a guy 3bets to 30. I tell the dealer the rr has to be atleast 15 more than the previous amount. He keeps saying yeah 15 more is 30. I tell him 17+15=32 but to no avail. I point out that the whole table is making big deal over a trivial matter. Dealer just says something like "when you wear the uniform and get a name tag you can be in charge". Whatever there are many dealers who can't do first grade math.

Actually the girl raised 15 more than $2, so I think the dealers right.

are you leveling me? she raised to 17 total which is 15 more than the last bet of 2, 17+15=32.

Goals for 2013-

[] 2k hrs (about 166 hrs/mo)
[] get active in llsnl posting and commenting on hands
[] check out card rooms in LA and Pheonix
[] Trip to Florida
[] Donate some of my winnings to a good cause

I finished up 2012 winning $16k over 1540 hrs. I improved my volume over 2011 but still came up short of every single one of my targets. I can do much better this year. I've also faced setbacks and trials, virtually b/e for the later half of the year. But that can't hold me back.

I am looking forward to a fresh start in 2013. I am going to work on developing into a better person and poker player. I've got $1800 to work with and I know I have to bust my ass to scrape together a bankroll for 2/5 as quickly as possible.

Thanks everyone for following my ride for the last year and I promise to keep things interesting this year with hhs, pics, etc. Best of luck to all the pg&cers with their goals.

LETS DO THIS!!!
