I planned to go to Fort Lauterdale for a month or so and then take it from there but then I heard about this circuit event in Tampa so popped over. I sorta just wing it tbh!

I might fire the WSOP Circuit Main Event on Saturday, it's $1700, probs sell 50%, I think 1.2mu is fair, bear in mind I have cashed the main event

So 1700 x 1.2 = 2040. 10% = $204. Reserve below!

I'm 50/50 as to whether I'll play, I'll confirm way ahead of time of course and obviously DON'T SEND ANYTHING YET JUST RESERVE.

Edit - obv can buy more or less than 10% I just put that out as a reference.

A truly strange day yesterday, I don't know exactly how much I won because the day before I rage quit and I had chips in my bag instead of depositing them and then I got more out half way thru, but it was between 1500 and 1800. Pleasing day!

So I get to the casino late and I get a 1/2 seat while I'm waiting for 2/5. I go grab food before I play a hand and they call me for a new 1/3 game that's starting. I sit and before I can play a hand I get moved to a new 2/5 game that's starting. Finally get into a fkn game and 3rd hand the BTN straddles, SB rec goes 30, we go 90 in HJ w AKss, the rec pops it to 270 and after a minute I say "dealer, chuck over one of those all-in buttons please." Dealer starts to panic and is like "SIR ARE YOU ALL IN?!" I'm like obviously yes m8. Fish goes into the tank. He started the hand w 800. After about 3 mins he goes **** it and calls. I ask if he wants to show, and he agrees so I show AKss and he is like yessssssssss ship it and turns over QQ haha. Ace in the window bzzt.

What proceeded next can only be described as an unbelievably slow bleed for 3 hours. I wasn't card dead, I was seeing a reasonable amount of flops with the usual PPs, suited broadways etc, standard spots, just brick brick brick brick. I didn't get frustrated and start to peel more marginally, I just sat there grinding Freecell on my iPad for ages. Asian rec opens UTG to 20, we 3b MP w AJo, he calls. Flop is J83ssx. I cbet 40, he makes it 80 with like 250 behind. I soooooo wanted to make it 120 but I shoved and he snapped w A2ss and pinged the turn. I say nice hand and he sits back, exhales with relief and goes "damn sometimes it's good to be Asian" hahahaha. Thought that was class bants. He actually turned out to be a very solid player in the end.

After the bleed some Morrocan rec sits down and the game exploded. He was next level spew, constantly bluffing etc. He asks me where in England I'm from and that's bad enough, but when I correct him and say I'm from Scotland he goes "ahh... Rangers or Celtic?" ****ing raging I was haha. Turns out he used to play for Anderlecht when he was younger, pretty sick. I can't wait to tell kids at the poker table in 30 years that I used to play for Leyton Orient after I win this conference bet...

So there's this American reg in the game, Ethan, he's a nice guy, introduced himself to me as he left the game last night as we were engaging in some very brief silent reg banter from across the table. I'll explain below.

So I'm s3, an Asian rec in a suit S4, Morroco S5 and Ethan s8. Morocco straddles, Ethan opens, both guys to my left call. Flop is QJTssh. Ethan bets, Morocco calls. Turn brick heart, Ethan bets, Morocco calls again. As he calls he tells Ethan he's going to bet the river whatever it comes out. River is Qh and Morocco bets out like 300. He's talking and talking and talking and pointing at the queen and eventually Ethan jams. Morocco folds very quickly. Asian rec in seat 4 is friends with seat 5 and is chirping him really loudly like omg he wasn't bluffing, he had it, so sick, he had it, he had it. He then goes "yeah, I don't think he was bluffing, he had AQ!" and I say "yeah I think he had AQ too but I think he was bluffing." Asian rec is like lulwhat and Ethan catches my eye and laughs. Top top bants from hero.

So the above hand is actually quite important. 2 orbits later and I open ATss to 35 as UTG has straddled. S4 and S5 both call. Flop is KJ7hhx. We cbet 40 into 115 and only Morocco calls. Turn 2x and we bet 140 and Morocco snaps. The river is a 4 and he snap leads 300. I think back to the hand he played vs Ethan. His behaviour is identical and I decide to absolutely **** it and flick in the AT call. He goes ahhh dammit you got it and hovers his hand over the muck. I nod my head to try get him to muck instead of showing on the off chance he's got some crusty 4xhh combo. He turns over 64hh lmao. I sigh and muck and S4 immediately assumes I've misread my cards before I called the river and realised, he's shouting and screaming that there's "NO WAY HE CALLED ACE HIGH, HE MISREAD HIS CARDS!!!!" was absolutely superb. I felt super low after that, after a nice start to the day I had simply bled for hours whilst playing super ABC and then got rekt that hand...

I was very fortunate to double a few hands later vs Morocco. I open JTo in MP, he calls, and another rec calls. Flop is K32ddx. We all x. Turn Qx and we stab half pot, Morocco calls and we go HU to Ax river. We decide that we want the lot so x and he snap bets 250 into like 140. We jam and he snaps us off w QQ

A lot later in the evening the BTN straddles, I open SB w K9ss to 45, Morocco calls again w QQ (although I didn't get to see it this time, took his word for it after) and some short stack rec calls. Flop is JT8ssx. We x, Morocco stabs 125, shorty calls, and I pop it to 425. We were like 2.5k eff and I was ready to play for it allllllllll. Morocco folds and the shorty calls it off for bowl and we snap show and turn is a spade and Morocco is like "YES!!!!!!!!!!" I genuinely believe he had QQ.

One more hand vs QQ (albeit an alleged QQ). There's a Euro dude in the game, complete nit, hasn't played a hand in ages. I straddle BTN, there's a limp, he goes 60 in CO (we 6 handed at this point) and I call 44 on BTN. We go HU to KQ4hhx. He cbets and I raise, he calls. Turn Ah. I bet 250 into 450 and he calls. River brick and I jam for around pot. Turn size not great in hindsight. River jam quite close vs this guy but he has more 2p combos than he does sets. He tank folds and shows the dealer in the process. Dealer is a Russian guy. I felt a bit sorry for him coz he'd had nae luck all night, so I show 44. A few secs later I am certain I heard the dealer say to him something like "tough spot, I think it's a good fold still." As I rack up to leave later he goes "I hed QQ that hand." That's when you know you're running good, you get set under set and the other guy folds haha. We'll take it.

One last hand vs Morocco. He opens UTG+1 to 25, we call Q4cc in BB. Absolute fistpump call vs this mammoth spewer, don't even bother telling me otherwise. Flop is QQAr. He bets 50, we call. Turn brick and he bets 75. Vs most I would snap raise this turn, but he's unbelievably barrel happy, so I opted to just call and xr rivers. River is the absolute glorious case queen for the absolute dream spot. I x and he bets 225. We like 1400 eff OTR. Jam? I went for 880 and he ****ing snapped. I think I like jam in hindsight, but maybe just results oriented coz he snapped. It's an absolute disaster if we jam and he folds Ax. But then again is any spewy whale ever folding an ace here? I dunno!

Pleasing night and so glad to turn it around after a few very rough hours. Not gonna lie, after that ATss vs 64hh hand I felt super duper scunnered. Really pleasing for morale to book a 1.6k win after being down approx 1.5k or so

Up 4.5k for the trip now, not the worst seeing as it's been pretty tough variance wise. But we getting there now!!

I'm confused about the 44 river jam, was it 25% pot or something

unless it's a next level play where you try to fold out sets and get called by AxJh and AxTh

It was approximatley a pot sized bet OTR. What do you mean confused about it, you think it's too thin? I wasn't merging haha I just thought "it's live poker he probs doesn't fold AK and might even call AQ so I'm all in."

Won a few hundo last night. One major problem I have is that for whatever reason if I'm sitting in a bad game I don't try table change. I have no idea why I do this but I had to force myself to table change last night after sitting in a very nitty game for a few hours. Once I table changed the pots started flying! Rly need to actively change tables and not just sit there grinding Freecell on my iPad listening to Taylor Swift.

I had genuinely the most fantastic interaction with a wee Asian kid last night. It was superb bants from both sides. So I sit down and he's grinding pio videos on his phone. I don't say anything. I open and he's on my direct left and 3bets. I 4bet and he mucks and I flash AJo and say "maybe the next pio video will explain that one to you." and he starts laughing. A couple of orbits go by and it folds round to us in the blinds and I ask if he wants to chop (for those that don't know, chopping the blinds is v standard, both blinds basically just take their blinds back and we move on to the next hand, it speeds up the game massively - some ppl don't do it but most ppl do and I defo do) and he throws his hand into the muck to signify a yes. As he throws it in he says "I dunno man I kinda wanna play instead of chop after your last comment!" and grins so I scrunch up my face and patronisingly say "you should just chop, it's in your best interests." and he goes "OHHHHH", was super funny. An hour or so later and the cocktail waitress comes along. I ask her for a plain green tea. She is unbelieeeeeeeeeevably beautiful, she's like 24/25, blonde hair down to her ass and just an absolute stunner. She brings it across and she places it in my cupholder whilst going "ahh, hot hot hot!" I thank her and tip her and after she walks away I tap the kid on the shoulder and say to him that every time she brings me green tea she always goes "ahh, hot hot hot!" as she places it down and one of these days I'll pluck up the courage to say to her "you're the one that's hot!" He starts laughing and goes "yeah man you should totally say that, she has NEVER heard that before, you should go for it!" and as we are laughing I say "if I had said it to her whilst 4betting the AJo earlier she woulda instantly been mine!" and he goes "oh my god she woulda been like 'this guy's got the chat up lines AND he knows how to balance his 4bet range I love him!'" had me absolutely ****in howling hahaha. Good times good times.

Lemme rack my brains for a couple of hands. Got it in pre w AA last night vs a short stack's KK for $200 each. This is at the new table and it's super good bants and the whole table is like "king dealer!" and obv he pings the river and the whole table's like "ooooohhhhhhhhh!" Literally the next hand I bet/called 86s on 432cxx CO vs BTN and pinged a 5 ball and he shoved and I snapped and got the EV back without it being AIEV orange really is the new green!

Rec opens HJ, we flat BTN w A7dd (he made it 15 and there's fish galore), Asian lady in her 40s or so in the BB calls. She's got one earphone in and has the arrogance of a poker pro and is ruffling chips, but she's a short stack Asian lady in her 40s so she must be a fish! So flop is J64ddd. Fish cbets, we put in a small raise coz we ain't too deep with either, she cold calls, he calls. Turn is the Kd. She leads out and I just call, no point raising. River 4x and she leads out like $200 with like $50 behind. I snap and she shows me SIX FOUR SUITED! The line of a goddess.

I was down about $700 or so, made a few very strong hands and had crusty runouts and had to muck them, all good, spirits are high, grinding away. There's a guy in the game I've played w before, very very active rec. We open KJo in HJ and he 3bets to 60 from the BB. Very nutted sizing tells, we all know that, but it's so small and we're 1.5k deep and it's not like we are getting stacked on a J42 flop so I peel. Again I'm well aware this is pretty marginal but I'm okay with it. Flop is QT8r and he checks. I expect him to have a lot of xcs here and we get to buy a river with a bet here and we get more money in the pot for the time we make a straight, and we can cooler the **** out of him potentially with a 9 so I bet 75. He snap announces 250. I'm like ffs didn't expect that and call. Turn is a total brick. There's 600 in there and he bets 325 OTT. Super close but I think it's a call. We call and the river is an absolutely beautiful neiner of hearts. He stacks up his remaining 1k in chips into 1 big stack, places his hand on top of them, looks at me, and checks. We like a small bet here or a jam? Pot is 1250 and he's got about 1k behind. I think it's an easy jam. I jammed and he sat back in his chair and goes ****kkkkkkk. I'm just like pleeeeaaaaaaase call mate this is absolute juice if you do. He thought for a minute and folded. O well.

Last hand, this one was funny. So I'm s2, s3 is unknown reggy looking guy, s4 is nice rec but a bit of a punter. S4 straddles btn, we open 77 to 35, s3 calls, s4 makes it 110. We call and then s3 backraises to 400. It's like wtf he is 2nd last to act and it's unbelievable risk flatting a monster there coz btn is gonna rarely 3b. BTN calls the 400 and leaves himself 300 behind. I have to call 290 to win 400+400+110. s3 has 600 behind, s4 has 300 behind. So it's a fold right? We fold and the dealer puts the 3 flop cards face down, he turns them over and as he does so, time stands still for a good few seconds as the 7 of diamond just glares up at me. It's like the dealer is turning the cards over in slow motion and just before he fans them out across the table the 7 of diamonds looks at me and whispers "pussayyy" before being smashed across the table. Anyway flop is J73 and S3 has "ace high" and S4 has 55 lmao. So tilt.

That'll do for today, last day in Tampa today, kinda sad to be leaving tbh but want to get back to Fort Lauterdale. Almost been attacked twice by locos roaming the streets, Fort L feels a lil safer.

I could see the 44 being fine against some whale but the way you described villain I don't think we're getting value from worse ever, it turned out good for you anyway so that's nice but I think it was not a very good river shove against anyone other than a whale

This is ultimate weakness tell, I'd prob just bet small there because of this dumb live tell that never fails

It's defo close, even the guys who are tight pre are stations on the river, every live player is. I do agree it's too thin, but I defo don't think we don't "ever" get called by worse. He's gonna flick it in w AK, but like I say in hindsight it's hella thin!

I agree it's normally pretty weak but when you think of his range (small 3b, xr flop and turn bet) he has a bunch of AA/KK and maybe even some sets. I can get behind either option, but I defo agree with you both that this is a super standard tell.

Went in last night and played for a few hours. The game wasn't great and once again I didn't bother to switch tables. I must do better with this! Bled off a couple of hundred, paid a dude off with top pair, and then played this hand...

So the hand I posted from the other day where we had 77, it's vs the kid who backraised in CO. He's like a semi-spewy regfish. So he opens EP, we 3b next to act to 70 w black QQ, he calls. Flop is JhTh5x. We cbet 75 into 145 and he makes it 240. Super easy jam here vs this kid. His hands start shaking as he cuts out his chips. He's like "omg such a big bet, such a big bet." Then after 2 minutes I hear the absolute ****ing dreaded "I don't know if I can fold this." and I'm like ffs he must have KK. Nah just the absolute classic JTs. Board bricks out and he said "I don't know why I thought you wouldn't just shove your overpairs there" and I went "I don't know why either pal" and quit. I was quitting anyway on my next BB so just left. I don't know what the **** is wrong with people or why they do this ****.

Just got back to Fort Lauterdale. Rly glad to be back
