Haha agreed. It's just the whole persona of waiting until it's your turn to look at your cards, sitting motionlessly for 8 seconds before folding to a 3bet or when the sb completes and you are gonna check and don't even get me ****ing started on wearing sunglasses at a poker table.
The guys that sit down and are bants and play quickly are great, but you rarely get a slow cash game player imo.

Bricked the timbey with 60 left for the day, 34 paid and 24 making it through to day 2. I played well I think. Won KK vs AQ and JJ vs KJ both AI pre to give me a healthy stack. Made one call with a worse hand and then lost A9ss vs an active rec's jam w 55. Flop was AJ8 too for the pain! After that I was down to about 13bb and couldn't find a spot. Eventually jammed A8s utg and someone woke up with laydeeeeees and that was all she wrote! Really enjoyed the tournament. I played with Phil Laak the whole day and he called a triple vs me and I showed a bluff and 20 secs later I said with a big smile on my face "you're not my hero any more!" and he just tapped the table and didn't say anything, not even a smile. I felt a little let down after that, but to be fair to him once a friend of his joined our table he opened up and engaged a bit with the table. One hand I opened J7s in HJ and he flatted KK on BTN and SB shoved and I folded and he ofc called and after he won the hand he looked up and grinned and said "you weren't calling if I reraised anyway, thought I might as well flat and let you hit a jack or something", made me feel a bit more satisfied at playing with one of my poker heroes. He played pretty solidly too, was overall a lot of fun.
Obv it goes without saying that I know Phil Laak is there to play poker, he's not there to entertain 29 year old Scottish fanboys! Was just glad I got to chat with him a little.
Played a good 10/20 today that started off rly good but then died down a little but was still decent. I won 3.8k in 3 and a half hours and after I doubled winners tilt took over and we racked up and left. In my defence I haven't played as high as 10/20 since WSOP 2018 so it's somewhat understandable, even if still a bit ridiculous. I think if the game were as good as it was when I started I would've stayed, but leaving the game if it isn't as good isn't okay if I'm just going home; there are 4 or 5 5/10 tables I can drop down to and play instead of coming home and having a wank and playing Tomb Raider II all night. Some hands from today...
A few of the 10/20 regs straddle at every opportunity coz they want to play higher. They all sit with like 20k too, which is just stupid for 10/20, but anyway, I'm UTG w A4hh, open to 120, BB reg defends straddle. Don't rate this guy at all. Flop is Q62hxx, we cbet 1/3, he calls. Turn 3h. We bet 580 into 450, he calls. River 9d and we give up (had an interesting discussion about betting river with some friends but I like give up). He turns over 33, glad we didn't fire!
***ROFL ALERT***. Straddle is on again, reg from above opens to 120, we make it 400 w 54cc, he makes it 1300, we peel. Flop is 667sxx. He bets 800 into 2700, we call. Turn 8s and he jams black AA for just under pot, we call. I ask once or twice and he says he normally just does it once and shows AA, I show too. River 8x and I honestly thought I had lost for a second lmao. Good thing I showed when he showed his AA otherwise I mighta fkn mucked, legit thought I had lost the hand. I'm an idiot.
Last one, this is an interesting one. Rec opens UTG to 60, 4 calls, we make it 400 from BB w KQo (we have the fish dominated and plays well vs the 2 regs' ranges of mainly PPs and mid SCs). UTG fish called and T calls. T is Dutch reg and probably the best of all the Euro regs I've played these games with. R will be reading this and will no doubt tell T I said this, but it's true imo
anyway flop is K63r. We cbet 450 into about 1300, and they both call. UTG is your standard ABC fish. Turn 8x and I x. UTG has all the AK and they both have all the sets. Checking range here I think. They both xb. Think the fish never has a set, has AK sometimes and T is more than capable of checking back all the sets, especially as his perception of me can be defined as 'spewyb'*. River 2 so 45s gets there but I doubt either of them have that. I think I bet AK and AA here and that's it tbh. Fish xs and T goes deep into the tank. I'm just sitting there like pls dont bet pls dont bet pls dont bet and he eventually xb and I know I win then, which I do!
Played 10 days out of 11, up $21.5k in 61 hours of poker, earning $350/hr so far. It goes without saying I am running absolutely fantastically so far. It'll turn and there'll ofc be a tough spell or two throughout this 3 month trip, but let's press this ****in heater til it bleeds!!!!
* just wanna reiterate my spewyb days are behind me. I'm happy to have people think that about me but I'm honestly a lot tighter these days
