Hi I'm playing poker for living for last 5 years. However in the last 6 months I wasn't able to put in hours due to lack of passion for the game. I am making this thread in order to help myself get things back to track. My biggest weakness is not able to keep grinding my B game.
This month, July 2022, I will start playing 100nl in the app and the main goal is to put up 150 hours of playing + studying. Below is my schedule. I might post results couple times a week.

Graph missing some hands, and somehow the result in this graph is a little bit too high compare to the actual one.

I'm also recording 80% of my screen time, the goal is to able to watch back my studying, session and also keep me not just doing nothing or watching youtube etc. Here is how is look like from beginning of the month. I'm so happy to be this productive, hope I will keep these momentum up.

I got hit like a trucked last 2 hours yesterday, feel I like if I continue to play I will punt it soon so I decided to stop 2 hour early. Today I also take 2 hours nap at noon in order to feel fresh before starting a day. Even though, the result was not great, I don't feel like I'm playing that bad in those situations. Let's have a look at those big hands.
I remember in game Vil is quite tight preflop, I decide that my AQo is doing better as a call. Postflop wise feel like blocking their top value range AK, KQs and unblock flush draw make this hand a easy call OTT.

Solver told me punting OTT. I feel I do need some bluff OTT but maybe picking this combo is disaster if got jam on. Solver want me to flat turn and bluff river if get checked to.

Another slightly punt here. My range rejam a lot with any pair, KJs, AJs+ but apparently AJo is not in there.

AQ is hard to win T_T

Biggest pot yesterday. I often use Pot or check when playing LP vs Straddle, apparently look like pot size is not the case vs BB/SB here. Am I punting hard this spot?

dont you think trying to play according to what solver says is far away from optimal play vs general tendencies in those app games?

no I don't think it's too far away in heads up pot. I do need to changing my play style depend on some player of course, for example, if I see a tight player open tight like 17% with the same range on every position, and that spot he is on the button, then my defend strat will be the same vs 17%, not defend as wide as nornal vs a decent reg who open correctly on the button. And yes there is some spot where solver make like 50% mixing between folding and calling, but versus some vil I might shift to 100% calling but that is more of a reason for me to deep dive into those study with solver to figure out why and when I can deviate.

TLDR; I think when playing on apps, you need to study smart to answer question "WHY" with solver, not learn by heart.

my god these winrates are beautiful. you need to move up stakes. are games that soft? or are you that good? or combo of both?

I'm just decent, not extremely good but the pool is very soft compare to GGpoker. Also I think the straddle format is quite strange, there are more room for regs to make dozen of preflop mistakes such as playing too tight BvB

Update the first mini challenge of playing 150 hours playing. I manage to play about 67 hours and study 60 hours this month, which is not bad for me consider I took a week off due to downswing stress. Lucky I manage to comeback strong and strike some result by playing less table. I also taking shot at upper stake when I come back since I play less table and I do have proper bankroll for this. My strategy is also shifted to playing at least 2 hours a day, after that if I feel strong in my game I can keep playing, otherwise I just stop and call it a day, it worked quite well so far. Are you training on your own these things or do you have a workbook or programm to train these things.
Do you use Programms like monkeyware to simulate gto ...

STR = straddle, it's another blind post after big blind.
I use Pio solver ( a GTO program same as monkeyware but only for heads up postflop) to run simulations. Then I use the trainer built in to practice drilling.

#Update before break.
Tomorrow we will have 5 hours road trip meet up with my wifey family, stay there for 5 days then 4 days later I will drive for another 24 hours to meet my family, wasn't seeing them for half a year. In total we have to spend at least 20 days outside my workplace, it's quite painful tbh.
Still, I will try to play an hour a day on average because I have plan to have a real vacation on October, plan to fly to Singapore to watch Dota2 event, so I can't be resting too long on this period.

Below is a result, so far I manage to win 40,000 CNY included rakeback. Hope we can end 150 hours of playing with 100,000 profit.
I was running hot on 5/10/20, tried to shot taking at 10/20/40 today, might try to taking some other shots at 10/20/40 if I am on form.

Hi guys, I'm back, here is my update for cash game challenge. Last 2 months I had to travel a tons and not have much time to play. I managed to play total 133 hours and made around CNY 45k ~ $5000 for this challenge and I will take a break from cash for now. Even though I made decent living out of cash game, it kind of killing me again. I guess I will move on and play some other format that will bring me joice, and maybe will comeback to cash whenever I feel like it. From now on I will mostly play some Sit n go hyper/turbo on Chico, I will update result and hands here too.


Here is my SNG result after first week testing the water, I will take shot at $30 hyper this week.

I guess just time and the stale nature of cash game. I also played it for nearly 3 years, it get bored when I do it day in and out. This burn out also happened to me in the past when I first start playing sng and MTT for living 6 years ago, at the time cash game on app become popular and I made a switch. However, today cash game on app seems dying so I switched back to my comfort, but who know, I might be back playing it sometimes in near future. In the end of the day, I started playing poker because it bring me $ and fun, therefore, I will choose to play which format bring me both of those traits

update for first trial period on SNG, I play mostly on Chico, recently I add some more table on ACR
I get used more and more to this format now and can manage around 25 tables an hour, I play on average 8 hours a day, so hopefully I can get in at least 4000 games/ month

Goal for next week:

1. Played at least 40 hours / 1200 games
2. Learn how to reshove vs mr 12 - 20bbs short handed
3. Review hand history and find preflop leaks of at least 3 regs
