Ok, so I thought I’d start a new thread. I have made a comeback and played 200+k hands, completing my goal of 100k hands. It all started off a little ropey in terms of my strategy and win rate etc.

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/1...ssion-1823635/

But I have now found my feet. I am going to move away from ACR and play at GG poker. I will document the journey here.

The first goal is to play out August at 25NL. I may also play out September too at this stake. Gain more experience and collect evidence that I can beat the game.

It is hoped I can move up stakes with the goal to make a good side living from poker each month. Longer term goal is to go full time with it but time will tell.

At the moment I am playing 2 tables mostly of rush and cash. I may go to 3 tables but I find 2 tables comfortable, plus the variance is lower and therefore controlled. I am definitely not wanting to chase leaderboards at this current time.

I have played just over 10k hands in three days. Here are my results so far. The grind is just starting.

I also somehow managed to turn 26k from the GG care tournament into C$150 with a 11th place finish. Mad.

I will aim to post a mid month update and end of month update to document my profit and progress throughout the journey.

Ok mid-month update (although the end of the month is about a week away (I will post then too).

Been away for a bit (summer holidays) and have been studying and doing other things.
Only played for 9 days so far this month.

Here are the results....
Winning at around 8bb/100.

I have been experimenting with playing 4 tables these past two days (managed around 15k hands).
I played 11k hands yesterday to finish 8th on the leaderboard (I wasn't trying or planning to compete for the leaderboard).

*I may do that at some point....

I also managed to win 10 stacks for GG care for 110k starting stack but didn't cash... lol. I was on the end of some serious coolers too... and some mad hands where they either had the perfect turn and river card or managed to hit their one card gunshot to make a straight on the turn in 3 bet pots. I think I flopped top set on more than one occasion and ended up losing...

Check this hand out... keeping his bluffs in and this happens!

I also pulled off a pretty cool bluff.... Not sure if it is gangsta or not but I thought it was cool.

Anyways, I am hoping to double my hands for the month in the next week or so... be good to get 60k hands plus in for August and then look to get well over 100k hands in September. That will be aim. Any questions - just shout!

Cheers,
Rob

Unlucky with the 66 though I’d probably have shuvved turn when the draws come.

2nd hand looks spewy, no big diamond to block any flushes villain may have. J blocks some straights but really this looks reckless, though I’m not a pro so someone else might know better.

Good luck, keep it up, graph looks nice 👍

Thanks dude. Not played much recently. Withdrew some for new house move and the little I kept on there, I managed to lose it. Doh.

So just taking a break from poker for a bit - been a theme since I started playing back in 2008 or so....
Might get back into at some point when I have some spare money to deposit and have a bankroll (not interested in playing anything less than 25NL.... done that).
The other option is I look for staking but we will see what the future brings.

The break may be a few weeks or it may be months or may even longer.... ha!

I am back (sort of). My wife allowed me to have $50 from the money I gave her for the house move... Decided to just put it on 25NL and go with it.... if I lost (not a big deal... reload with a better roll next month). I was confident I could beat the game at 25NL as I have a 50k hand sample at GG for 25NL at over 5bb/100 before rake and I also had a similar amount of hands at 10NL at ACR with a WR of 12bb/100 before rake.

So I fired up two tables at Pokerstars and played.
Damn... PokerStars is softer than GG (well that is my experience so far from 25NL). I imagine the players get better as I move up....
Here are my results after 10K hands or so..... obviously going 'too well' but I am outplaying people all over the place.

And here are the break down of the sessions I have been able to play this week....

I know the sample is small so far but I think I can keep my WR above 8bb/100 over a larger sample but time will tell. I do want to move up.... but I want to do this properly, so will stick to a bankroll strategy. Maybe this blog can live on?

I am happy to post some hands - let me know what you would like to see from me going forward.
If not... next update will be at the end of the month. I am not going to go crazy with volume.... just going to stick with playing 2-3 tables of zoom. I imagine I can get at least 30k hands in this month (so another 20k or so to go...).

Well this hand hurt... dream scenario when deep....
Just checked my tracker and this is my biggest pot I have lost on stars at 25NL by more than two times the amount ha....

Who shoves for 300bb as a cold 4 bet jam.... Ouch!

Very nice results especially for rush&cash ,where most people loose pre rakeback!

Back playing at GG. Not played for a while. Loaded up 2 tables of 50 RnC and played for 2 hours or so....
Managed to bank a nice winning session.

I thought I would share some hands.

I actually typed to the guy.. nice play before I called but it won't work ha...

I was going to call the river regardless of the 10 on the river... and I also typed to the guy *you have air ha*

Second biggest pot of the session - standard triple here (non believer). Played a hand with him earlier and though the was fishy (hence the standard play here to extract)

Biggest pot of the session. Nothing really to say here. A regular (grinds a lot) who does get out of line. I seem to make a lot of money off him....

and the graph for the session... for those that want to see it (should have won more... had some funny sucks outs and run outs too).
