Grinding 25 dollars up to 100k challenge Grinding 25 dollars up to 100k challenge

I put 25 dollars on Ignition sometime in October to play some NLH micro stake cash games and do 25 to 10k to copy Doug Polk. If he can get 10k so can we right? But I am lazy and don't have much motivation to grind it up. I am making this blog for motivation. I play short stack and play zone. I know regular tables are a lot softer but I like to get hands right away. So far playing once in awhile, I built the roll up to 54 dollars. If I can build this bankroll up big, I will play some tournaments too. When I get to 1k I will go to 25NL zone. I am pretty confident if I can get to $200, I can turn this into 100k. Also very possible I go bust early on before I get to 200. Anyways it will be fun to try. Will post results once a month.

Played live and online NLH cash games for about 5 years. After heads-up tables died off, I just play for fun last few years. Heads-up was fun. Ring games bore me. Had sub services to RIO and Upswing Poker. Pretty confident I have an edge over any player in cash games at any limits in ring games. Heads-up players have a big edge over ring game players. I wish they would add an ante to kick up the action. Then I would have more motivation to play.

That was a very intelligent response. Do you think believe you have an edge being full stacked vs a short stack? I would like to see this response with your math to back up that laugh.

Results= $96 for April

My thoughts and plan for next month-
I honestly haven't played much. My main problem is motivation to actually play. The results are not very good because I am not playing enough. I just play sparingly right now, but doing this blog motivated me to play a little bit more. I am going to shift my focus on creating a routine to actually play daily. I also need to turn off my phone. Once someone text or calls me I quit playing. If I can get in a routine of playing every day without any distractions I should have $200-500 by the end of the next month is more realistic projection of where my bankroll will be.

Doug Polk put in thousands and thousands of hours on the table and off the table to get great at poker.

Since you are lazy you've lost the challenge already. Players at the higher stakes have already worked harder than you and will chew you up and spit you out when you move up in stakes.

Laziness is what will beat me not the players. If you had any common sense it would lead to the conclusion of why I am bored playing. It might be why Doug also retired from poker for I believe 2 years. It can get boring when heads-up format dries up online to play ring games... A player with a heads-up background has a much higher understanding of poker then a 6 max player especially in marginal situations. It wont matter what limit I play. I have the edge on any table I sit on. But you are right on one particular thing. The laziness might beat me. We will see.

Ty. I do appreciate the advice too, but the best value from that book is to use it as firewood. It wont help you with your mental game.

I was actually very motivated to play this month but variable change decided to interfere with my goals. I have a right shoulder injury. I might have torn some ligaments due to the fact the pain is not going down. I feel a burning sensation when I use a mouse. I tried sitting at different angles and nothing seems to ease the pain. I did play some poker the last few days with my left hand, but it felt very awkward and didn't enjoy it. I might sell my bankroll to my cousin to continue this challenge if my arm doesn't heal by the end of this next coming month. I do have a doctors appointment at the end of this next coming month if the pain persists. I did get the bankroll up to about $117. I know I can do this challenge, but I wont be doing it in this kind of pain. My cousin is a good player. He does have leaks, but we can patch that up. Hopefully this pain will ease and I can continue this challenge.

I am going to update this post. I am doing very well in poker now and making a very nice living doing it. I had a torn ligament in my shoulder and had surgery on it. I started playing with my left hand and now I can play left handed. I can now use my right arm again. So if one arm gets tired I can switch arms while playing. I also had something called sibo. It has to do with stuff in your stomach. My dietician put me on oregano oil and berberine. And my stomach is fixed now and it also got rid of my tinnitus I have had for last 5 years. My energy is way higher. I lost a lot of weight and eat healthier. I am playing 50nl and 100nl tables now and I could move up to 200nl but I am making almost 5gs a month playing 50nl and 100nl. That was my main goal was making around 5k a month. I went from no motivation to playing 8hrs a day without taking day off. Now I am addicted to playing. I don't think I had have losing day over last 3 months. I am on a epic heater. So I will probably stay at these limits and use half profits to put into crypto and stocks and hope to hit big on a investment like I been doing.

I didn't do Dougs challenge. I just put on 1k and played higher. I turned 1k into almost 65k now. Been putting half of it into crypto and stocks and other half using for expenses and just to have some savings for rainy day. I do short stack if it is a table full of regulars or zone and build up stacks from that or just lose short stacks to regulars. And on regular tables I will play full stack if fish are on the table. So that is my strat if anyone wants to know. I am lag player.
