Hey guys,
Over one year ago, when I made the decision to go pro in poker, I started implementing some routines and habits into my life, and I thought you might find it interesting so I just go and share it here in this blog.
I want to optimize my performance on and off the tables and in my everyday life.
One of the first things I started with was intermittent fasting. I took my a while to get used to it but I don't wanna miss it nowadays anymore. So I basically stop eating around 7 pm and start eating again after my grind between 11 am and 1 pm. I then start with a green shake to break fasting roughly 2 hours before I really start eating.
I also started meditating on a regular basis 13 months ago. I found out that doing this as the first thing in the morning after getting up at 6 am fits best for me and my schedule.
After I did my meditation I do my cold shower. Usually I go for 1 min max.cold shower. After my workouts I go for maxColdStart-veryHotMid-maxColdFinish. I think it helps me relax the muscles a bit better and still getting the post-workout-shock for them to regenerate better and faster.
I started working out on a regular basis in March 2020. Bencb finally opened my eyes when I heard him saying that waiting for motivation is not making any sense, because motivation either comes from the inside or just through taking action first.
So even though I don't like doing my workouts very much I just start them and now that I have to do it.
(My workout schedule: )
I also do some journaling at the start and end of each day, being grateful, planning, recapping, setting goals.
One of my favourite routines is to not take my phone with me when I go to bed. It opened new possibilities to read more books or just recap the day a bit.
I drink a litre of organic green tea (mostly gunpowder) during our family breakfast, sometimes squeezing some lime or lemon into it. Mostly not, because I actually wanna do water/tea-only when I'm fasting.
I don't wanna go too much into detail here today like going over my nutrition, sleep or my working habits and work attitude or how I take my breaks, because that would go too off-topic for today.
If you would like to know anything just let me know! :-)
Thanks for checking in here! Have a great week!
Daniel
