Hi, so it is already happening. I have been thinking about making the blog on twoplustwo for waaaaay too long and here it finally is. So let me introduce myself (sorry for a very long post upfront)

I am 29y old boy / man (really tough to say, still feel like kid most of the time ) from Czech republic. Currently living on the Czech / Austrian border in the beautiful nature of Šumava mountains (will definitely post some photos later). So lets now focus about my past and how I got here where I am now:

I am in poker for more than 10 years already. I have basically quit architecture University because of poker 8y ago. I really wanted to focus on my only true passion and that was poker. The problem was that I was completely dead ass broke, so I have started working as a dealer in Kings casino Rozvadov (the idea of looking at poker and learning while being at work and earning seemed just too good to not go that way ). I have been there for around 2 years and later moved to Austria, there I have been working as a poker floor manager in small casino in Klagenfurt (what a beautiful city, really highly recommend to visit). There I have started my first "PRO" journey.
I have joined Smart Spin (really good and renowned stable for Spin n Gos) I have started on 1$ and really quickly moved up to 30s after completely crushed 15s spins (made above 80cev per sit n go and over 10k profit in 2-3 months). Unfortunately I had to move back to Czech republic because of personal stuff.
Unfortunately no Spin n Gos in Czech republic so I have made switch to CGs, found a really good stable and played mostly live 2/5 with some online for study purposes. The stable was heavily focused on GTO and I have learned a shitload of stuff about theory. My journey there ended after very bad EPT Prague where I have had my biggest downswing of my life, completely crushed my soul and I said to myself I have to quit live poker. I left the stable and focused back on online.
In those days I was playing mostly GG on 100zoom, 200zoom when field was good. I was clearing leaderboards and making a very decent money but I was pushing it to hard and burned out. Pretty hard. I started to have problems with depresion and overall health so I have decided to quit poker for good and focus on my health.
I got to IT as a graphic designer (I am learning really fast ). Made it for 2 years and really missed the freedom you have as a poker player.
So I quit once again - got an offer to be floorman manager / poker manager in casino on border with Austria. I have been thinking "allright, lets do it" lets get back to poker, you really miss it, lest work in poker and after work lets grind. Make a bankroll and be independent. No more stables. No more excuses.

So here I am. My goal is to make a proper bankroll / life roll to be able to quit work in 1-2years. I have currently 1K on Stars and I can save around 1.2k / month from work. So I gotta push my BR to around 20k and have 20k on the side would be my goal. Seem pretty realistic to me in 2years. I will be playing MTTs only.

And this blog? I want to have as a diary, a tracker of my progression and realistic mirror of my behavior on and of the tables. Dont want to have it heavily focused on strategy but will post some interesting spots.
I will be also posting interesting stuff and photos from my life outside of tables.

Ok see you in the next post where I will focus on my schedule, routines, goals

SCHEDULE / GOALS / PLAN

Something about my schedule. So I said I am working fulltime in casino as a poker manager. So my schedule would be kinda crazy. My idea is something like this:

13-14:00 waking up
14 - 17:30 my daily routines (includes morning yoga, quick cardio (5km run or 30 min pool), cold shower, healthy breafkast, 10 min meditation no.1, going to hit a gym (4x week), study 30 mins
18:00 - 02:00 work (sometimes will have to stay way longer, in these days I will most likely not play)
02:30 - 07:00 grind session (10min meditation no.2 before session, proper focus, marking spots, cooldown after session)
7:00 -14:00 sleep

Weekly goals
  • Eating healthy (using Loovoo app to track all my food. No fast food, no junk food. Keep track of fat, carbohydrates income etc. to stay balanced)
  • 30 min Cardio session everyday
  • 2x a day 10 min meditation
  • 4x week gym (using Freeletics app)
  • 4h study a week (1h on my days of at work, 30mins when I am working) - I will be using ICMizer, RYE Masterclass, handhistory
  • Grind for 20h
  • Try to not get stressed by work and be little bit more happier
  • Post at least once a week here

Grind goals
  • I am starting with 1K bankroll.
  • I will be using 200BI ABI bankroll. So I will start with 5$ ABI.
  • I will never drop stakes below this. If needed I will redeposit.
  • WIll play only MTTs, will try to avoid huge fields (will be easily done because I am mostly playing 02-07am CET )

Yearly goals
  • Safe at least 20k $ (work savings + bankroll on Stars)
  • Go for one big life poker event (Battle of Malta, some poker series in Rozvadov)
  • Play at least 1 life tournament a month (will be very tough, life poker tournaments, especially those one day long 100$ buy in, 20k$ gtd)
  • Get to the point when I am happy with my fitness and health level again
  • Keep this blog updated to have a track of my journey
  • Find some similary motivated group of crushers to improve together

Ok that should be it. See you in the next post where I will share some photos from my personal life
Btw first session starts tonight after work (if I wont be working some extra hours) or tomorrow evening. See you behind tables and GL

This post will be personal no poker related stuff. You have been warned! 😃

Today is my day off and I have decided to do a little trip to the forest before my first session of this journey.

Nature surrounding the village I am living in is absolutely breathtaking, definitely will try to spend more time outside)

Some photos from the “Devil’s cliff”

After that I was very luck to catch the golden sunset from my balcony

And finally went to sauna and whirlpool, there is little wellness center with fitness where I am member very close to me

Overall I feel extremely relaxed and blessed that I can be on this journey. My mindset is imho on my all time high and I feel great.

Hello there, very quick message regarding posting frequency here:

I have decided to post weekly since my two biggest sessions of the week will be done on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Every Thursday I will post:
  • Update of my graph
  • Some interesting spots and hands
  • Update of my fitness and food habits progressions
  • Some interesting stuff that has happened in my personal life or work

Also little something for you guys. I have been using PrimedMind for mindset (it is awesome hypnosis / meditation app made by Fedor Holz and Eliot Roe) - now jumping back again and I have found a free youtube version of one of the Primers.
I can't stress enough how much this has helped me over the years to keep positive winning mindset. I strongly advice everyone to give it a shot

WEEK 1

The first week of a challenge. Starts are always being somehow difficult for me. Adjusting to the new schedule..New more active lifestlyle..
Honestly could have been better and I feel like I could have pushed much much harder in regards of volume and my goals.

GOALS

4/6 fitness training I have planned. Been 2 times very tired after work and did not manage to push myself to work out before another working shift.

7/8 days I have eat really good. This was a succes to me and I feel like it should not be a problem to continue with healthy diet.

Studying
overall was okish - I was focusing on mindset. Been listening to lot of podcast with Fedor. Been an eye opener in terms of how is he approaching the game and thinking about any exploit he can do. This I need to implement and need to keep focusing on my longterm goals instead of day to day session results.
I will try to start studying the Tournament Masterclass next week.

Volume
Was unfortunately very weak. The problem is when I am plaiyng after work (usually 3-7 am there is really not many tournaments I can play so I cant really push volume. Another problem is on my days off I am somehow not able to make those 10+ hours session like I used to do. Somehow I will get always bored or distracted..
That is a number one problem right now and I need to get back to proper volume again without playing 8+ tables. Something like 70-80 mtts a week would be wonderful goal from now on

Personal and work
Nothing really interested has happened. I think I am trying to manage to be less stressed and tilted by BS at work. That is a very nice progress

Results

WEEK 1 graph

Results were pretty poor. Unfortunately lot of coolers late and deep in a tournaments (had at least 10 mtts where I have finished last 2-4 tables out of 400-500 players being just coolered for 15-30bbs). The start of the week was really not interesting in terms of results.

After 2 days ago I have managed to get HU in Big 4.40 1k gtd where I finished 2nd
Unforunately got coolered again 1st hand where I deffend 85s and got stacks in after my x/r on 852ccx when he was holding 22. After that he just run over me and I finished 2nd for nice week saver.

Yesterday I have got a big shot at a really good score at the end of the session.
First I have had a deeprun in Big 7.50 2k gtd where I have unofruntately run with 88 against 99 in a wierd spot in last 15. Might have been a big punt from me. Will post some hands tomorrow, curious about opinion of others.

And finally I have made a final table in 2.20 750 gtd with about 150 first - it was incredibly easy FT. Lot of weak passive limpers. Unfortunately run into BS hand again where CO limped with 17bbs I jammed SB with AQs 16bbs and he tanked call AJ and jack in the window. GG

Plans for this week
This week will be difficult. I am now working 5 days in a row and there wont be much time for poker - durig my day off I wont have time for grinding so I will have to push my volume after the shifts. I would be happy now to play something in between 40-50 tourneys. Lets see how it will goes.

Plan is to keep on diet.
Play 40+ mtts.
Keep exercising every scheduled training day.
Meditate more.
Study some new topics in Master class.
Start reading the new book that just came - A-Game poker from Elliot Roe.
Post some interesting spots here during the wek

That would be it from me in this post. GL to y'all)

WEEK 2
So here it is. 2nd week of my blog. This one was really rough and it forced me to think a lot.
There were some issues that I have had 0 power to solve or change, in the start it made me really tilty cause I felt like I will fail another week on my blog and it put another unnecessary pressure on me.

First of all my neighbours decided to start reconstruction of their flat every day since 8am - that resulted in me sleeping aprox 3-4h a day max and every session being anxious about not sleeping properly before work = big ****. I also did not workout nor do any cardio cause of total lack of power. On the other hand I have played at least some volume..
Good news is I have managed to eat properly another week. This is very big goal imho cause I have completely shifted my eating habits and I am really eating well and healthy, no sodas, only clear water. Feeling very happy with this change.

But back to where I have started this post - I have read very nice quote on another mtt blog here on twoplustwo:
"People very often overestimate how much they can achieve in one week and really underestimate how much they can achieve in 1 year"

This made me realize I gotta approach differently to maintain healthy longterm approach and not burn out.

So here are my new weekly goals:
  • Workout 5 days a week
  • Cardio 2 days a week
  • Study 30 min a day (both mindset and strategy counts)
  • Play above 50 tournaments a week
  • Eat healthy and drink enough water every day
  • 10 min meditation before every session with PrimedMind

I believe this can be sustainable longterm

Week 2 graph

Overall graph

Nothing much to say. Been running pretty meh. Did one final table yesterday but went in very short- busted 7th. Outside of this nothing interesting in terms of deepruns / scores. All in all I am happy with how I am playing - I feel like there is lot of room for improving in terms of big exploits and overall focus during the session. Hopefully it will be better this week and neighbours will decide to give me some sleep (please)

Also bough a new 34" uiltrawide monitor so I can easily fit 8 windows so my volume can hopefuly get closer to 75 tourneys a week.
So you next week and GL
