Yeah, Thailand is super cheap (Maybe not quite $3 though!), but I'll probably get it done in the UK if i ever meet my goal... At least that way, if there's complications after the surgery, the surgeon is a bit closer to home

Ok so I'm all happy now. Had my dinner, and feeling good.. So time to make myself a coffee then play some cash games

Hopefully I'll have a nice start to the month

Btw on that topic... For my final year project I'm planning to either make some really simple hold'em AI or like maybe something that analyzes large volumes of hands to find patterns in the data
Snap. although i wish i took AI modules . Also going to make a pokerbot for my dissertation i think so glglgl

Do you think bet folding the river is ok or do you think I should have check folded/check called? (I'm guessing bet calling isn't an option unless the villian is a complete maniac which he didn't seem from his stats)

      Thanks

Assuming your opponent is a calling station, I'd bet/bet/bet-fold in spots like these. It depends but usually fish are not bluffing often enough here to bluff catch. I would also bet bigger on the river, like 3/4 pot, around $1.75. You'll be amazed how often you can stack (or nearly stack) calling stations with TPTK if you play like this... just be sure to fold if they raise. I'd make it at least 3/4 on each street as well against these guys.

I've noticed some calling stations love to call down top pair hands, some love to call down flush draws and open shove the river or check/shove the river.

Either way (and many stations will have both of those traits...) whenever they raise they are almost always beating 1 pair.

If the opponent is more competent you can bet smaller like you did here, or check back if you don't think they will call with a worse hand.

Ok thank you! I tend to not try build too huge of a pot though usually because I kinda worry if I build a big pot I might be committed to calling huge bets..

And this hand made me feel sick lol... Especially being deep with the other guy in the pot (Not the short stack who shoved).. He was playing 40/20 with 25% 3bet but I only have 10 hands on him so not sure it's even relevant..

When he flatted my 3bet then the other guy shoved I was like so uncomfortable.. Wasn't sure whether to reshove or just flat. I decided to just flat and then get it in on a non scary flop lol...

Well, with QQ hand... Did you know that he is a total fish? I just coldcall with QQ there beeing that deep. Even if its NL5, you should adjust, i hope you did get enaugh info about a player sitting MP and his 5bet%...

I only had 2 hands on him... But for only 40bb I think QQ is good enough to go with? I figured he'd have a much wider range because of his short stack..

Well i missred the stacks between UTG and MP1, sorry from me well yeah... i guess thats a standart then...
            06-01-2013 , 06:53 PM
Against the short stack it's a standard call. Against the bigger stack, do you think he would be trapping with AA or KK in this spot? Otherwise I guess it's pretty standard and you've basically got the nuts on that flop.

I figured a lot of the hands he has in this spot are AK or AA. I didn't expect him to have KQ or KJ as I think it'd unlikely he'd 3bet them preflop. I also dont expect him to have JJ as I had one of the J's in my hand and there was a J on the turn.. I imagine QQ may play the hand in that way but not sure...

Anyway, if people could give me some opinions I'd be really grateful
