Starting at 10NL. I was at 25NL and got crushed, so dropped down to 10NL. Decided to start this to keep me motivated.

Current BR: $727.87

I am a member of Upswing Poker, and generally use that strategy. Here are my stats thusfar:

I definitely need to cbet a little more. Currently only cbetting about 35%. I could probably stand to get it somewhere near 45%. As I don't cbet much, my checking range is much stronger than most of the aggro Russians and Ukrainians, so it does induce some spaz.

For some reason, I can't get the built in converter to work. Kind of a weird spot here. I felt like with such a small bet size on the turn, he was full of ****. I have a hard time putting him on a range. I am guessing he has a lot of hands like AT/KT/ here. Normally, I would only squeeze with 98s. I think this is a bad bluff by me.

Another example of a bad bluff. I don't mind the flop raise, but I should just shut down on this runout. I can only really have K9s/55/99 on this flop for value. By the time we get to the river, I still only have those 3 value hands, all of which aren't that likely, and I only block KQ. A better runout would be any spade on the turn and any spade or heart on the river. It just so happens that he blocks both of those, so we would probably call anyways.

I think this puts a lot of pressure versus his range by the time we get to the river. Even AJ would have a hard time calling, I would think. The only issue is that I wouldn't play 78s suited this way on the turn. I would probably just check it back.

Pretty high in my range, but I can have ATs, TT+, 98s, and sets, so I think it's questionable. I could maybe find a fold on the river if it wasn't such a great card for me. This is a standard Ukranian ACR guy. Against a random fish, I would fold turn.

Odd spot. I think anyone someone calls a 4 bet like this, it is weird. He would have called a river jam, but I thought JJ-99 was in his range, so thought a call was better.

Villain was a big fish. My default would be to flat the turn and x/c the river, but I figured he is a fish and would call with a 2. I was right.

Don't like villain's flop check. The only kings I have in my range are KQs-KTs, and since he has TT, he blocks a lot of those combos. I think I am probably checking back KQs here, as well, as I am not going to get 3 streets of value from QQ/JJ and he is uncapped. I guess he was going for the X/R. Anyways, the rest of the hand is pretty standard.

Preflop: SB was an aggro reg, BB was a huge fish, so I decided to flat preflop, getting a good price to call, I only need about 25% equity versus the SB. I have more than that against his exact hand and since his range is extremely wide, we have plenty of equity to call preflop

Flop: Card flop, never folding, never raising.
Turn: Pick up a gutshot. If it were heads up against the reg, a jam could be in order, but I like just calling because we are afraid of almost nothing on the river. I think jamming only gets him to call with sets and two pair, which have a good amount of equity. Either way, we want to keep the fish in.

River: Kind of a brick. Nothing really changed. With just top pair, no kicker, it's an easy check back. Somewhat worried about the fish, as he has a lot more Tx in his range than SB does.

I decided to ride the heater and move up to 50NL early. Not a lot of tables going, and lots of short stackers. I use Table Tamer to convert my stack sizes to Big Blinds, so it feels like I am playing the exact same game. Psychologically, this is a huge help.

              Hero wins 46.34 BB

              Classic Upswing Overbet.

Pre: Huge preflop sizing, but I have to call.

Flop: Hits my range more than his, IMO. I think AQ has enough equity to call in position and re-evaluate on the turn.

Turn: When he checks, I know he likely doesn't have a hand he wants to continue with, but decide to see the river.

River: On this runout, he has a lot of suited broadways that whiffed, his range is really weak by the time we get to the river, so I want to be able to bet this big with my entire range. We're chopping with almost all of the hands we were crushing on the turn, like KQs, so I figured screw it, I am going for the overbet.

Never folding here. I'm at the top of my range here, as I would never flat AK,
or KK+. The only other value hand I could have is 77. I don't mind the villain's play, although I would probably just x/c. Mixing in a 3 barrel with the NFD probably isn't a bad idea. I'd have to fold hands like KJ/KT/QQ-TT.

Really bad runout for villain to be doing this. He has a lot better bluffs. Pretty much every club draw, 65s, etc. He does block top pair, but besides that, it is a zero equity bluff, and he just goes for it on the river with showdown value. I would probably just check behind on the river.

As you can see, I don't cbet flops very often. This makes my checking range quite a bit stronger than the population, and polarizes my flop betting range better. One thing that sticks out to me is my low river cbet percentage. I could probably stand to go 3 streets more, even though I feel like I do it quite a bit. Might just be variance.

Looking good. Pretty liberal opening from utg at 20% isn't it? I mean if it's working for you in those games, by all means.

I think it works well because people play sort of nitty. Anyways, I have moved over to Ignition. First session at 25NL went well.

Are you done with ACR? I find the micros there full of nitregs who just grind every table to get points for the beast. It's so crazy to see the same 4 regs on 10+ tables of 25nl. Hard to really crush games filled like that imo.

I do really like the idea of a challenge to specifically beat ACR tho.

Yeah, the money is easier at Ignition. The games are very beatable. I was crushing 10NL and 25NL before leaving. After you get 1k hands on some of the regs, you can find a lot of glaring weaknesses. Some guys call 3 bets way too wide, so you tighten up your 3 betting range against them and increase your 3 bet sizing to exploit them. There are lots of good players on there, that is for sure.
