The other thing I've started to do which adds even more time is how different stack depths affect things. So far from what I've seen it seems the deeper the stacks the more passive lines you take.
I'm also trying to get better at sizing in deep stack plays. So tough since sizing doesn't always change linearly with stack size (preflop 3b sizing actually sizes down after 200bb+, like a bell curve)

Yeah it's interesting that certain hands also work the same way in that there is a certain stack depth where hands like 75s peak and level off and then start to reduce in value again closer to how they would at short stack depths same w/ the lower PPs.

There seems to be a sweet spot in terms of stack depth for many of the hand classes.

Got 10th again in the Niner.

I think it's more tilting bubbling the FT than bubbling the actual tourney because you're so close to the higher pay outs.

Just bubbled the FT for the second night in a row in the Niner.

Pretty frustrating.

One spot kind of surprised me today, I've definitely not been playing it this way.

SB vs Btn 3bet.

763r

SB should have a pure CR strat.

So check range and only continue w/ a CR consisting of 77+ and some of the Axs that have bdfds.

Folding all the offsuit stuff even AKo and all the suited broadways was surprising to me.

But if you look at the pre solved solution it looks quite different.

It still almost checks range, but has a lot of check calls.

My assumption is that most players have a very different PF range in this spot than the solver. i.e. they're flatting almost all of their small pairs a large percentage of the time if not 100% and they almost never shove hands like 66 and a bunch of other stuff that make the range construction they arrive to on the flop very different.

Thanks yeah pretty excited for this as it's quite rare I'm able to get away for this amount of time solo.

What an absolutely sick first hand

Literally the first hand of the tournament only 4 players seated at the table.

Blinds 300/500 500

Button open 1200, I have KhKs in sb and make it 4300, he pauses for like a full 45s and makes it 10500, I call.

Flop: 2c 3h Tc
I check call 6100

Turn: 3s
I lead 500 he makes it 22k I call

River: 7s
I check he jams I tank for 4 minutes and fold.

A young guy who just spent 19hrs traveling the day before to play a 10k is not blasting 122bb on the river in a 4bet pot with 0 reads on the very first hand of the tournament when the opponent looks like he has at least JJ imo.
