Yes. If there are $10 sngs or sth in that range, play them. Even 100 BI at least at this level is still considered pretty nitty brm. The only important thing is to move down again when it swings in the wrong direction.

deffo move upto next level m8 ( $10 ), with 100 buy ins you should never go broke providing your dropping levels if need be .

As i was new to online i learned lots doing this , proberbly much more than if i had just started playing at a decent level especially as i dont use any software.

Notice your upto just under $1k , well done and keep grinding m8, good luck , the achievement of succeeding is worth it.( well it was for me and hopefully will be for you).

Thx! unable to follow your advice tho, or mebbe i did and cruel fate was against me. Below a grand sigh. Down $120 after running bad and imo small tilt related mistakes. mostly alot of top pairvs set situations, kk vs aa, all that good stuff

havent moved up as of yet... reasons are two fold... came up from 5 cent buyin level via 10 man 10 min interval sngs... got 40 bi (440) coupla months ago for $10 game... and the format i play isnt popular enuff and they only run a handful of times a day. Action above 5 sitngo level there isnt much.. and most of what there is of it is 6 handed 4 min blinds. So ive been playing this format at $5, which i understand l'm overrolled for currently at about $950. Didnt have the confidence to move up level and change format at the same time. How horrible of a mistake is it to linger awhile by the fertile pond of the $2 everest rebuy i wonder? Trying to further build my confidence and br? Kind of decided to hang around playing turbo 6 handed 18 man sng to mebbe better adjust to turbo blinds and take a crack at the sng low leaderboard (near miss on prize money last week, 13th 10th pays) which would boost confidence and br.

No software yet. tried playin 4 tables 6 handed (was headsup on one) and was instantly of the opinion that i was playing way worse that usual. Ominous. Mebbe ill try to play 3 tables at once. have done from time to time and dont seem to suffer much from it.

I realize that its probably a mistake not to move up as soon as possible. However there is the format / game availability issues as well as psychological issues. If i stress less from -24 buyin downswings maybe it saves me from going broke? I first qualified for $5 level ($220) a year ago: so less a 3 month break from playing everest it took me 9 months to beat that level. not even sure i got enuff buyins outta $5 10 mans, was mebbe $2 rebuy money that finally got me to rolled for $10. would really appreciate any help on ways to access and analyze everest play data.

I'm eager for your opinions and helpful suggestion.

Joe

go on sharkscope look at gaz3325 playing on pacific poker, i used that account for this challenge, i continued to use that account to play the World Poker Crown , where i cashed for $1500 then stopped using the account in middle of 2008 i think.

also if u check stars (same name) i am doing a similar challenge now , im upto just under $8.5K ( started with $100) however this time im using bonuses, rakeback and any torny winnings ( which i rarely play on stars )etc , i aint played as much last 10 weeks on this account but hope to finish this challenge under 1 year .( started grinding it from around the 700 game mark on the scope graph/ december 2009)

i got nowt to prove to any1 , dont care wether you or any1 else believes or not , but i will give people encouragement/advice as per the original poster , as for you well if you want some tips feel free i will advise, im not a bitter and twisted person.

Woot!

after another downswing i hit a score, getting 3/304 in the everest 1500 guar $5 buyin tourney for my biggest payout yet. ($187) Combined br is $1140 now. Unsure as to what to do with my 69 bux on ftp... seems a waste to play it using proper br management when im rolled for so much higher on everest. stoked!

Still running good mostly grinding 18 man turbo $5 sngs. Cracked the weekly sng low leaderboard (8th) for small prize still looking for tools to analyse my everest poker data. Playing the odd $10-$20 dollar sng... pretty much overrolled for the levels im playing but i think its not so bad cuz the extra cushion give me confidence to play my now more agro game: its getting me good results. Combined br stands at $1290.

well not that anyone seems to care: :/ but things continue to go ok.. br stands at $1350, still mostly playing 18 man $5 turbo sngs, profiting in my occasional forays up the food chain to the 10/20$ levels. Made 7th on the weekly sng low leaderboard, should crack the monthly one as well. Played enough this month to move up from base camp to tier one so will have increased bonus next month. Really feel like playing under my br is the way to go... 15+ buyin downswings dont affect me nearly as much when they only amount to a small fraction of my roll. Definitely gonna play mostly $5 sngs for the rest of this month, and may concentrate on cracking the top 4 spot on the leaderboard next month as well.

well its been awhile.... been grinding $5 18 man sngs on everest for 6 months now... up about $3200 since then, maybe $1200 of that in rakeback and leaderboard prizes. Scored a couple monthly firsts, many weekly first... almost always top four. Took about $3500 in profit to help with bills.
Keeping 100 bi ($550) on server. Feel its a good amount for this game: have had - 50 bi downswings. Play a fair amount of 6 man $2.50 - $10 bi sng in off peak hours when 18 man not running. I now regularly play 3-4 tables at once.
Fairly committed to seeing how profitable i can make dominating the sng low board on Everest: First prize for all weeks in the month and first for the month is $390.00 its pretty easy money. Kinda bummed that i needed to take the winnings off the server cuz i could be playing much higher. Actually have better ROI in the $10 bi 6 man than the smaller games. Play the odd mtt but have started to dislike the length of the game.

Boku didn't turn $0 into $10k in 14 days or $5 into $10k in 14 days. Here's the truth cause it seems the reality is quickly turning into myth. Boku did two challenges.

Challenge 1:
He turned $100 into $10k in 15 days. Bonuses, etc. didn't count towards the goal. Only profit. It was epic.

Challenge 2:
Turn $5 into $100k within 1 year. He lost the first $5. Stars gave him another $5 and he did indeed turn that into $100k within 1 year. However, his bonuses did count towards the goal this time which made up a huge chunk of the $100k. It was about 1/3 profit and 2/3 bonuses, rakeback, etc. Good challenge...slightly less epic.

Gl luck on your challenge OP.
