Just came 10th in the Saturday Speedway with 12k up top, pretty tilting. Seem to have bubbled so many FTs in the last month or so. Anyway, had a decent day, made a couple other FTs but didn't make any higher than 5th. Played a ton of MTTs and finally got in some much needed volume.
Big news actually, the part I needed for my PC today and after a lot of ****ing around over the past week or so, I finally have my 3 monitor setup complete! Will post pics soon once I tidy the place up a little. For now, I'm gonna hit the sack and get a few hours of sleep - will probably be up pretty early to start tomorrow's grind. Should be a good one.
Ugh, shoulda learned my lesson about trying to push through tiredness, didn't get much sleep last night and now I feel horrible. Regged some stuff early on but gonna forget it and go back to bed until later. I knew there was a reason I believed in getting enough sleep!
Huge session today, probably my biggest ever among pure MTT sessions. Played 19,992 hands in the day over 175 MTTs. Came 26th in the Big 162 (ended with a huge but pretty unavoidable QQ<AA), made 3/4 small FTs, had a bunch of other semi deep runs that didn't pan out. Happy with how I played but DEFINITELY had too many tables going for long periods, wasn't able to give full attention to some of them. I don't wanna keep playing like that so I'm gonna put a new goal in place.
New goal is not to go over 20 tables at any point, for any reason. I wanna get my EVbb/100 stat as high as possible, just like a cash player would. I've fallen into the trap way too many times of trying to play every tournament that runs, and it definitely affects my win rate. It leaves me with big losing days like today, where I don't play badly or anything but I just play so much volume at a mediocre level that it massively increases my variance. I'm in a little makeup right now - not much, just a little - so I'm just gonna cut tables, cut high buyins for a while, and grind up those low stakes games again.
No, although at one point yesterday I got uncomfortably close without even trying. My new computer is fast enough that 20-tabling feels like 10-tabling used to feel, so I just kept regging more stuff until I accidentally had way more tables than I could handle. Definitely was not +EV.
been following since ur start on this forums, i was there when u had ur biggest downswing i think it was like 15k, and best poker players are known for getting back from that stuff.
Myself playing 180s , sad to hear ur not playing them anymore
aniways gl, and subbed
Meh, stuck to low stakes games today but couldn't get anything going. Keeping my table count at 20 went well, but I got sorta tired and a little sloppy at times. Gotta refocus and get back to it, should be a solid session tomorrow.
Side note, I had a long gym session early today and an old right shoulder injury of mine has been flaring up hugely lately. Actually gonna start impacting my ability to move a mouse if it gets worse - will have to take good care of it.
Meh day today, made a few FTs but also made some mistakes I wasn't too happy with. Decent volume though, I'm glad to see I can comfortably get 75 games/day without my table count ever going over 20.
Today (inspired by yesterday's events obviously) I've been listening to all fourteen of Vanessa Selbst's old DC strategy podcasts. They're really interesting and definitely make for good listening, even though they're about 3 years old mostly. Got some stuff to do tomorrow but should be on the grind in the evening again.
Ugh, probably won't be grinding tonight. Feel super tired and didn't sleep well. I'm not drinking coffee again unless it's an emergency, whenever I have caffeine in my system it destroys my sleep pattern, makes me all jittery and probably makes me spew at the tables too.
Yuck, I feel terrible. Didn't play today, just went to Burger King and the cinema with a buddy (Gangster Squad - decent but not spectacular) and watched a few videos/did some HM2 reviewing. Stoked for TCOOP tomorrow, just hope I get a decent night's sleep and can get in a good session at the gym first without my shoulder killing me afterwards.
Yeah I've been pretty good so far this year about working out before sessions, but I have an old shoulder injury that's absolutely killing me the last few days. I sorta know how to fix it from when I had physio like 8 years ago on it, so my aim for tomorrow's gym session is to make sure I do things in a way that means I can still go to the gym again on Friday.
