Oh **** never knew that was you. I like your posts on RIO!
Today was pretty meh, had some deep runs but nothing panned out. Got 26th in the Kickoff, 56th in the Brawl, 35th in the Mega Deep on 888, and a couple other cashes including the 109 3x chance SCOOP wrap-up. Played the 1k and was pretty happy with how it went - busted in a huge cooler, QcQx < KdKh on 8c7c3c2x in a 4bet pot. Overall I'm really happy with how I played during SCOOP and very much looking forward to a few days off!
Will post a full SCOOP review soon. Off to France on Thursday for the FPS Amneville event which I'm stoked about. GL to anyone hardcore enough to still be playing this week!
So, I didn't really get the chance to post a full SCOOP review in here, but I guess I was a little burned out come Monday. I don't have in-depth stats on the series from my perspective, but as far as I can remember I had one final table (obviously), two other top 50 finishes, and about 8-10 more cashes, which is a pretty decent haul overall, plus obviously a bunch of other solid results during the series.
A few of my cashes came in non-holdem events which I'm pleased with - I got 48th or something in the Low Courchevel event (Courchevel is a ridiculously fun game, you should all play it), and even cashed the 5-card PLO Low too. Got 47th or something in the Low version of event 08, the one I FTed.
Did a pretty good job of keeping my table count down during the series - I did go over 12 tables a couple of times, but only at times where I could handle it, and I was flexible enough with how I handled my screen space that I was never really autopiloting or anything.
Health-wise, I did slip a few times and order some takeout food, and I didn't work out every day, but part of that was (on both counts) due to lack of sleep after being up till 8am on some nights for deep runs. I've been trying really hard to keep my diet low-carb in recent weeks and months, but what I'm realising now is that I sometimes get very low on energy when I succeed in that. I had a few days last week where I slept 10-11 hour nights when it really wasn't necessary, and I think maybe that was just due to trying too hard to keep my calorie count down and not having enough energy.
Definitely learned a lot during these two weeks, and happy to have come out of it with a little more money in the bank. Looking forward to grinding during June/July when all the regs are away at WSOP, but also need to focus on getting things ready for moving to my new apartment in the last week of June. Gotta strike a balance over the summer - don't wanna waste it all sitting in front of my computer screen.
On that note, I'm off to France tomorrow (or rather, flying to Luxembourg before getting a train to France) for the FPS Amnéville event, my first major live event. Follow me on Twitter @theginger45 for updates - VAMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Hey guys, thanks for the support, but I just busted in 70th. Ran a flush into kings full on KT7T3, huge cooler so not really much I can do about it. Really happy with how I played over the two days, I don't think I made a single mistake to be honest and it's not often I can say that. Really enjoyed myself here and looking forward to playing the next FPS event in Cannes in September!
Oh, and for the record, these live tournaments are insanely soft, or at least FPS is. I probably only got put in one or two difficult spots over the whole 2 days - you just have to have enough experience dealing with really bad French players to understand how they think.
Any reasoning behind satteliting in French live mtt's or did you just do it because the sats were +ev?
I barely even tried for it to be honest, Stars.fr just introduced their 2-day saturday version of the nightly 100eur and added a bunch of seats to the final table. I would play it every day even without the added seats, but it was definitely a nice bonus.
I play very few satellites, especially since I cut down on tables. There's just not that much need for them unless you're trying to get into unique events like SCOOP or WCOOP, or you play on your own bankroll.
GG ginger! U gonna be staying there for a while or heading straight back home or elsewhere?
I'm already home. Came back yesterday, wasn't much use in sticking around. Back on the online ground this month, should be good with very few of the best regs around. Gotta take some days off here and there to sort out moving to my new apartment, but besides that it should be a pretty standard month.
Not so bad, took a few days off this week so far. It was my birthday yesterday, turned 26. Had a couple decent days toward the end of last week, shipped the 109 10k on 888 and got 7th in the Sunday Mega Deep on there too. Just kinda chugging along really, will post more when I have more to say! GL all.
