Wud up everyone. Everyone here should know me by now been around the block for a minute. Below is my previous thread where I had covid back in March 2020 and begun my sng journey deposited around $500 and ended around $8.3k

I've already made enough of an hourly to make this into a side hustle which was my primary goal but i've noticed a lapse in my game. I want to challenge myself further and become a better poker player. Additionally sngs get a bit dry but certainly an excellent way to earn some solid income to boost your bankroll, I will probably play some as a break from MTT's when I hit a bad downer etc. Might even grind them a week here and there to earn some $50/ $100 promos but def not too frequently.

So In order for me to continue playing MTT's on the yearly basis as my main grind I would need to make at least 10k I would estimate and see how many hours that ends up being and all the details to see if its worthwhile to continue it on. I kinda like the idea of the freedom of MTTs playing very long sessions when I can devote days to play opposed to stressing out during my workweek saying I need to hit x amount of volume on x amount of days to hit $375 rake per month in sngs to keep my tier status to ensure I earn greater than 60% rb per month. I feel I would have a bit more freedom with this schedule and could earn more. Stay tuned for the ride.

Me and Liv at a poker event and below that is last time I was in phenomenal fitness shape which my goal is to get like that again.

Took down both the $5r/1.2k and $7r/3k gtd on WSOP.. Took 20th in the 16.50/20k Phat on ACR and a few middle-ish cashes inc $33/30k but nothing notable for those.. Played well and ran hot in the right spots. I will be putting together a daily schedule and picking the BRM I'm using but WSOP has around 180-200 ppl per tournament where ACR has like 1k-ish so much diff in variance

Got smoked today, one of those days.. Took 17th in the $5r and 7th in the $5/1k on ACR with AQhh 13 bigs CO against Utg open who had AA. Went far in the smallest ones, pretty blah day, felt like I played well though. Taking a break tomorrow to chill and enjoy the weather before getting shitty weather. Early night tonight so will study a bit before sleep and will work on posting some hands.

Didn't think I was gonna have a chance to play today, thought yesterday was the month wrap up. Today went fishing for the first time in a very very long time was on a boat from 1p-6p got home and managed to play a session starting at 730. Took 4th in the $2.75/2.5k jamming ATo from BB (21bb eff) against CO being obv 4-handed with one dude who had 9bbs left and villain tank-called with AKo. I'm fine with my play he was at the top of his range. Tomorrow, the start of a new month and we hitting it off with a full schedule around 20-22 games. Lets get it.

Disappointing day had a nice start mid session playing around 10 games still with 18 left in the $10r with a monster stack in the 3.6k prize pool ended up taking 15th with top 2 pair against a straight. Couldn't get much else going hit the money in the $11/10k, 6.60/2k, 3.30/3k but aint shiet. Took 19th in the 3.30/1.5k ATs<55. Been playing solid poker and def playing much better postflop def playing my game

Took 13th in the $5r and 10th in the 11/15k.. some deep runs but couldnt catch the late heat. Next time around, stay tuned.

Very dissapointing day.. Should have easily been +$150 profit or more type of day but there were 8 left in the $5r and I was chip leader.. Folds to CO makes it a m/r pre (30bb eff- I had like 34bbs), BTN jams for 15bbs, Hero in big blind with QQ 4bet jams for 34bbs and CO tank calls with KK.. BTN had 66 and triples up lol. Then lost the next flip KJ<Q4s to take 8th place, disgusting. Took 75th place in the 16.50/30k with 2100 entrants thats always a huge one had 15bbs squeeze jammed KJs v AQo v 22 lol and lost that one huge pot. We move on, another day stay tuned

Following! Curious why you would make the switch? SNG's seem like a higher hourly ceiling than MTT's unless you can get to $100+ ABI? I get what you mean re: pressure of putting in volume, but there's something to be said about knowing when your session will be done +/- an hour.

Few reasons.. Sngs naturally get dry, my hourly got capped out, you need to keep playing more tables and/or longer sessions and i wasn’t learning anything. My post flop skills were deteriorating and maybe if I could grind like 45 or 90 mans I would be content. This also works best for my current work schedule. I may be back to the sng in the future but right now I’d like to focus on what I enjoy playing. If I could get the best of both worlds (hourly/ enjoyablity/ better at poker) it would be perfect. Why not give it a try? Only true way to find out.

but keep it up, you already had a great start from what i can see!

Shouldn't of even played today. Had some **** on my mind and was not in the poker mindset, one of those BS sessions. Losing a ton of flips only made this session into a quick disaster. Getting some sleep, hitting up gym and start fresh. Onward.

Thx bro. It depends. I work 2-10pm so if I grind its on my off days and usually I start up late at night and end early in morning. I am married/own a house and very into fitness/nutrition, got too many hobbies.. Something has to give at times. Part of the reason I wanted to get into MTTs was for more balance. SNG life had me grinding wayyyyy 2 often and never am satisfied. Caused alot of fights and knew I couldn't keep it up long term.

As a side note I know the MTT schedule on all 3 sites I play to the tee. I could tell you exactly what MTTs I want to play based on how late I want to stay up. So its rare Ill be up late and say I wish I didn't play this its taking so long- nah I got it together.

Pretty sweet to have a very solid day after tilting off some buy ins yesterday.. I will be studying a bit this week and will post some hands. Def need to work on some postflop spots. Stay tuned.

Once I lost this hand in the $30/10k on stars it basically killed my motivation for the night since I only had (2) $5 games left which mean nothing.. in the 10k it was a 6-max game blinds 2000/4000/500 I make it 8k BTN with AA (255k eff/63bbs), SB makes it 28,766, I call the 3-bet.. Pot 64,352 flop T86 SB c-bets 33,262 and I call sitting with AA.. Pot 131,058 Turn 9 SB makes it 77,529 I jam for 193,691.. River 9 and villain shows K9 In hindsight the flop is a raise on that particular board but regardless probably same result against this fish.. Onward.

- Only few more weeks till the WSOP! Don't have that much time to grind this month so Im switching back to SNG's for the time being just to stay fresh. Good promos on sngs right now anyways. My goal for this month is to restore my rakeback for sngs on wsop so I need to rake $375 to hit silver status again. I am probably going back to SNG's after the wsop and will play some MTTs alongside. THink the mixture of the two is the best way to go.
