Although not fun, happy with my AIEV at 500 and don't think the regs there are really that good (with the exception of a few really top level players, who I have a lot to learn from)

nice update, hopefully the goodrun will come to you on the 500streets there on GG. Can you estimate how much bb/100h rb you recieve? (without bbj because variance is too big with it to " steady rely" on imo). I tried GG a bit here and there, and I always ignored the leaderboards (because I"m not made for zombiegrinding) and I always felt the rakeback there was a bit underwelming compared to the rake you pay which is really high. But would like to hear your opinion on it!

At 200nl I pay 8.5bb/100 rake, and I think all things considered get about 35% rakeback so about 3bb/100 in rakeback. That being said, I don't chase leaderboards or bonuses and my PVI has got to be terrible given how hot I've run. I'm also not at the highest tier of the platinum rewards yet, so that is a small bonus.

I think the games are easily beatable pre rakeback though, but I imagine some of the worse breakeven regs are getting 50-60% total.

Been put in a lot of tough spots and my confidence is starting to be shaken. I have ~60 buy ins for 500nl and my primary goal is to establish myself as a >0bb/100 pre rakeback winner before I move this summer because that equates to a healthy living (~3bb/100 post rb)

However, I feel a sense of dread before each session and I'm not sure if it's just smart to move down to 200 for a couple weeks and then move back up. I think I'll take a day off and think about it.

In the beginning of the thread you stated that you had been playing poker for 2.5 years, so let's say it's been 3 years right now.

I have actually never heard of anyone going from complete newbie to beating 500nl in only 3 years. That would be truly amazing if you could pull that off.

Most high stakes players that I've heard of on podcasts have been playing at a bare minimum 5 years, and most much longer.

I think we just need to be realistic about how difficult it is to play poker for a living online.

Your graph doesn't look bad at all but the losing redline is concerning a bit. I would move back down to 200nl and focus more on studying over volume. There's so many spots, especially BvB that require a lot of nuance.

I've been playing in the 2/5 reg table pool for a bit and my advice is same as before. Most are spewtards or nits. I don't see much EV there unless you just basically hunt the fish and leave once they gone. The regs games aren't particular amazing but its high variance so your swings are gonna be big if you decide to fight with them day in and day out. It is probably much better to get the EV at NL200 where on reg tables you definitely should be making 4-10 ev bb/100

The games are a bit slow for me even when I do 6 tables, I think 5/10 is still a better game. I will probably just move to the 5/10 games later maybe in 2 months - because like my advice I said to you before I don't really like the 2/5 regs.

Also rush and cash is fine just don't play when its a regfest at NL200 still alot of fun players there.

Your style and game you probably need to spend time finding where your leaks are and where you losing value because your blue line should be steadily going 35-45 degrees if you finding the right spots to milk value.

Anyway good luck and it is probably best to move down and book about 10-20k session of winning hands..

I understand where you are coming from, and it makes a lot of sense. However, I have the bankroll to play 500 and have done really well at the 200 games so I want to see where I'm at at 500nl. I understand I'm probably not the best reg in the pool.


FWIW, -1bb/100 is an average winrate for a 500nl reg on GG poker.

U need a bigger roll my friend 30% of your roll in a night is terrible BRM sometime u have to step back and realize tilt has to be a major issue when ur putting that large of a % i.n a game chasing it . Cut ur losses and come back don't bury yourself.in one night.

Rake?

I see a lot of guys beating GG and I am getting like 2-3bb/100 back in rakeback. Of course it's not ideal but it's also the highest volume site once you get to 500nl+, you really can't just jump on Stars/ACR and regularly load up good volume at 500nl.

I am going to try to move some liquidity over to the apps again however and try to build my roll that way, but those games don't always run.

Decided to stop playing GG as many people have noted the rake is very high. Going to be playing on ACR, mainly 200b and 400nl/600nl reg tables. Should be a lot better as the rake is more than halfed, and can get higher quality volume.

I can't play stars, and I think if I play WPN as my main site I will end up with 50% rb making the eff rake like 2bb/100 which I think is worth it.

I really would like to hear opinions on this because it seems like midstakes nlhe is in a rough spot on public sites and the thursday games on WPN were really not amazing

Right now my roll is ~40k, My ego has me wanting to play 500nl on GG because that's the place with the highest volume at those stakes, but I need to realize that volume isn't everything and I 200nl isn't "too low" for me.

I will be playing 200nl-1knl on Betonline (chico network) and Global poker, as I believe they have the softest games at those stakes. Even if I can only get 2-3 tables of 500nl running, I can mix in 200nl, and my winrate will be like 3x higher than it is on GG.

Had adventures on ACR (10k hands), Chico (4k hands), and Global poker (~1k hands). Lost ~2.5k playing 200/500nl.

I've been told the games on Chico are near unbeatable and the rake is ginormous, and I heard GG recently reduced the shorthanded rake at 500nl+, so I'm just going to move back to GG a site I had success on and grind 500nl there.

Bankroll is ~35k, My goal is to grind 30-40k hands at 500nl before the summer and achieve at least a 0-1bb/100 WR and then put in mass volume once I move to Costa Rica and become a crusher with 2-3bb/100 and can make upwards of 100$/hr. Shotting 1k at 60k bankroll although that's a long way off.

Yeah… -10bi swing is very standard, played like 9k hands. If I swing another 10 on GG I will probably move to 200 for confidence
