Brief History of my cash play;

I've gone on a few heaters playing 25nl moving up to 50nl (once made it to 100nl) then losing all my profit and cashing out in frustration.

Now

I've recently re-started at Stars. I'm playing the lowest stakes I feel I can take seriously. 10nl.

Bankroll

$200 to start and should disaster occur I will reload this.

The Plan

Try to move up the levels and escape uNL.

When Verneer reaches $10,000 I'll target 1 year from that date to hit $10,000 myself.

I'll studying everything I can get my hands on. Suggestions are welcome.

I'll follow Verneers Moving Up Through uNL in 2011 for inspiration. Also re-reading the PDF of his 2010 thread.

Hey Trojan,

Sounds like a good solid plan to me! I have recently had a break from poker and have found myself back at the tables this month at 25NL Full Ring and feel pretty good about it.

You didn't mention whether you play 6max or full ring? I would recommend full ring for sure. I have found the variance is a lot lower and there seem to be more fish too. It's also much easier to multi table while maintaining a descent win rate.

I'm aware that this is pretty basic and well known but i thought i'd throw it out there anyway

A couple of questions :

How many hours/hands a week do you plan on playing?
What BR management are you using - as in how many BI's for each level?

Best of luck!

Thanks guys, I've started out at 6max but I may take a shot at full ring for a few thousand hands and see how that goes.

I'd guess I'll be getting in an average of 4k hands a week so not anything massive. Full time job takes up most of my time.

As far as BR management I'll move up when I can hit $550 to take a pop at $25nl moving back down if I drop to $450.

At 10Nl if I go busto I'll just re-load.

I've been studying away from the tables yesterday and will be continuing today. I've played about 2k hands so far and I am down about 5 buyins. I tilted one of those off which was disappointing and shows I'm still playing badly and when tired.

Following some advice I picked up I'm not looking at my cashier frequently. I'll check it next Saturday and post a graph then.

Thats good advice, i am also guilty of checking my cashier whilst playing too! The best way to combat this is to use a deeper BR ~ 30 BI's. There is no harm in checking your balance after/before a session. Just make sure your sessions aren't results orientated, so set yourself a certain amount of hands or time to complete your session. It is important to have a break if you feel yourself tilting but you probs no that one.

I'd also recommend playing less tables, 2-4 until your confident your strategy is +ev
