I'm playing 6NL, am a super fish, and by November 2012 I want to be a competent second level thinker playing mathematically correctly vs an assumed range (which will almost definitely be completely off, but I'm ok with being right about something wrong for the time being, it's better than being wrong about something wrong I guess hahaha). This means I need to understand and apply pot odds, pot equity, fold equity, basic hand reading, combinations, be very comfortable with basic quick arithmetic. I want to be able to spot when implied odds allow me to call and when it does not. I also want to be able to be comfortable with the basic maths behind value-betting and semi-bluffing.

Also, I'd like to start working on tilt control now. I ordered a copy of The Elements of Poker on ebay, and will read it at 7:00 in the morning every Saturday and Sunday until at least 8:00 (that early because I wake up that early for some weird reason).

I'd also like to have 8 posts on this thread by November that covers the exercises I've been doing to get the math down, the concepts I've read about as well as my thoughts on the hand history I will post up on where-ever most people will see.

Just because I get the sense that some people here get a little too excited when it comes to quibbling over semantics, no I don't expect my math and inner game to be perfect in 2 months haha I just thought the title was cool

haha well i meant i'm ok with making the correct about the maths given the range i'm assuming, before having that assumed range correct

On a maaaaaad upswing, playing pretty much only in position. Added QJo and rubbish like that in EP and MP at random times with no reason in particular, gotta stop doing that till I can hand read well. I know it's only 400+ hands and means exactly nothing, but I'm a fish and I'm happy so stfu . BR is slightly inflated cause I like to play $1 SnG's when I'm stoned and I've been lucking out on seat selection when it comes to SnG's (or maybe the competition is just too aggro :s). Haven't got a tracker yet, but I think I'm around 150bb/100 right now, should settle down to around 5-6bb/100 soon. Being nitty is really working out for me, and I don't think I'm loosing too much value by making tight folds. Still working on applying PMTM.

KK and QQ got cracked in the space of 10 minutes, logged off whereas I'd normally go on mad tilt and start spewing chips. Pretty happy about that, would normally loose about half my bank roll right about now.

Still running super hot. Moved up to 10NL with $200 and now I'm on $230 (is that enough buy ins for todays games or am I underestimating the amount of variance I'll cop cause I'm running so hot?). $10 of that came from today picking off a bluff from a player who bet small with nuts and raised all in with BP, MP or air when that player raised all in. Not sure if that was smart or lucky timing but I'll have a dig through the hand replayer and then post the hand up on the beginner section. The other $10 is from stacking a guy by drawing to the nuts using the stuff I learned about implied odds, I am confident that that was correct. Another $10 came from KK all in on a flop of QJ9r. Someone raised MP, he called in the CO, I 3-bet pot in the SB, MP folds, villian calls. Flop comes out, I lead for pot, he raises all in and I call. I think that was correct to but I may be wrong, I hope someone actually reads this **** and will tell me haha, appreciate it whoever does !!!

Read a bit of Tommy Angelo. I think the key is if I get excited or upset in any way, I'm only a slight favorite when I'm in good form, I can't play if I'm not.

Also, I've decided not to focus on fold equity too much without reads for the time being, since value betting correctly is so much more profitable and works a lot better at 10NL

Was 250bb effective stacks, 3bet QQ OOP, got a caller. Flop came out AAQ, I bet pot, he reraised all in and I called and he turned up with AA. Knocked me down a few pegs, did some tilt control exercises, am now playing absolutely fine and have made most of it back. Good to see I'm hitting a couple rocks so my winrate will actually start to mean something at some point haha.
