Does anyone ever make a royal flush? Does anyone ever make a royal flush?

I've been playing poker for over 15 years now and have never really hit a royal flush. The only way I can say I have was a hand where a royal came across the board in holdem resulting in a four way chop. I just wondered if my odds of making a royal flush have to be about due and how often do you make a royal.

If you play like 8k hands per year, it's no wonder to never have hit one.

In the first year I played online made a royal in probably my first 10k hands. Have had 2 more since then ( 2 years ) One in PLO other both were NLHE. Online pokers. I am sure in live in probably very rare for a person to have more then one in a lifetime unless they are playing every single day of their lives.

I had one with only one card in my hand live. I know lots of people who've had several live and they do play almost everysingle day for their whole lives.

No idea why you posted this in Goals and Challenges. I have had a RF twice and have seen one come out on the board once.

I have made two, needed runner-runner both times. The first time I had AK of spades, caught the 10, runner runner Q J. Last night I made another, had J 10 of clubs, got the Q on the flop, runner runner K A. It *does* happen, I've been playing about 2 years and I've now had two.

Ive had lots (10+) online, but the sickest one was in a live cash game.

It was at my local casino, I had the Q of spades. I river the one card RF, pot checked down to the river with me and some old guy(60+). While checking down we were joking around a bit not being serious at all. The river comes a Ks for my gutshot RF. He bets 10 in 20 and then I pulled the greatest hollywood ever hahaha. It probably was so bad, but I never play live and just went for it.

I stopped joking around when he bet and became very serious not talking anymore. I tanked for a bit and went all in. He couldnt believe it and called his 360 smt stack, saying well show me the Qs then because I don't believe a single bit of it.

Boy did he take it very bad and was steaming afterwards hahahaha. The table could order a drink for free and I got a bottle of champagne for the royal flush + the 720$ pot.

I've played about 5k hands live I think if not less, pretty sick.

What does never "really" hit a royal flush mean? You've either hit one or you haven't.

If you saw all the rivers with your NL holdem hand, odds are 1 RF in 30k hands https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poker_...rd_poker_hands

However, depending on the games you play and how you play 'em practical odds to make a royal flush could be maybe 1 in 100k hands. You could get a math person to estimate it more correctly if you really care )

I personally like top set on non-full flush rather than having a Royal Flush because it's easier to extract value.
